hello and thanks for joining us. first on fox, labor day taking a tragic turn in a phoenix neighborhood. a 2-year-old little girl pulled from a backyard pool and then rushed to the hospital in critical condition. danielle miller is live from phoenix children's hospital with the latest. danielle? >> reporter: kari, this two-year-old little girl still recovering at phoenix children's hospital, and what fire crews are telling us is she was not seen at her home minutes near 85th avenue and camelback. she was found in a backyard pool. a bystander did perform cpr. but when crews were transforming this little girl, she did not have a pulse and she was not breathing. now the good news here is that crews were able to restore a pulse but we are told that she is still not breathing on her own and now on a ventilator here at phoenix children's. not sure how long the little girl was in the water, who was home at the time, if her family

but we are working to get those details and if we get any conditions updates, we'll bring you that news as we get it. >> just so terrible. thank you, danielle. you may have seen this while you were out driving. we have obviously sped up this video quite a bit, but it was a massive fire that generated an enormous plume of black, thick smoke, and it billowed into the skies today. a fire breaking out at a scrap yard facility near 29th avenue and broadway this afternoon, and the time lapse shows just how can also see how firefighters were able to bring that down to just a little bit of smoke and basically put it out. ty brennan joins us live from the scene. ty, that fire brought some challenges to firefighters, not just because it was a big fire. >> reporter: yeah, that's exactly right. it all broke out here at this shipyard or scrap yard, i should say, right here behind me, right around 2:00 this afternoon. now, firefighters were able to quickly get the upper hand on this fire, but it wasn't without

thick smoke could be seen for miles from the valley today. a fire sparked at this scrap yard near 27th avenue and broadway and quickly began to grow. >> called a first alarm fire, so we upgraded it and then it went to a second alarm, just to get the additional personnel here and the heat, and we didn't know how long they would be fighting the fire. >> firefighters immediately came up with a game plan to attack the flames. >> i did hear a call go out to make sure we evacuate any >> this fire proved to be a tricky one. the fire department says with construction going on in the area, many of the fire hydrants were turned off, meaning they had to work extra hard to get water to those flames. >> a couple of trucks had to lay like 2000 feet worth of supply line in order to get fire here. >> luckily within about a half hour firefighters were able to gain the upper hand. >> reporter: now, the fire department does tell me that they are notified whenever a

within the city. they always hope that there isn't a fire, but unfortunately that was the case here today. that fire still under investigation tonight. reporting live in south phoenix, ty brennan, fox 10 news. >> thank you, ty. a man is arrested in bullhead city accused of setting off bombs around town. police say that about two weeks ago, an explosive device was detonated in an alley. and then another explosive was found in the same area actually a few days earlier. a witness helped track down a suspect's vehicle. police say that they found bomb making materials inside of his home once they got a warrant, along with several explosives that were ready to use. firefighters rescue a man with a head injury from south mountain. the 37-year-old man was out mountain bicycking with friends this morning when he flipped his bike and hit his head on a rock. he was about a mile up on the mormon trail when this happened. he was knocked unconscious,

the hospital. we are told he is in stable condition. brace yourself for some very wet weather later this weekend. dave munsey tracking hurricane newton. it's currently headed to mexico dave, but this one could start heading our way? >> most of the models are showing that it's going to come right up into southern arizona, kari. it's going to give us a couple of days of rain, but it's going to cool temperatures down quite a bit as well. as you look at it right now, you see the moisture over here into new mexico, not much moisture, not that is going to change as you see newton's track. here is newton. this is the track that takes newton up into arizona. this is wednesday right here. we have 90-mile-an-hour winds wrapped around newton at this particular time. so let's watch newton as it starts to make its move up into arizona. look at him push that moisture up, ahead of himself here, late tuesday into wednesday is what we are looking at, and it does

pretty shaky in oklahoma, and now we are getting a different perspective of that pretty big earthquake this hit oklahoma over the weekend. this is the tower camera at our fox tv station in tulsa, and take a look at it. no, the sunset is not shaking. it is the earth that is shaking. the 5.6 magnitude earthquake struck saturday, and it was felt as far away as it caused some structural damage, but nobody was hurt, thankfully. officials believe that underground disposal of wastewater from oil and gas production and fracking caused that quake. many of those wells have now been shut down by the governor your exclusive accuweather forecast with dave munsey on fox 10 news. well, hi, everybody. 94 degrees right now. winds out of the west at about five miles an hour, city looking great, and the temperatures not too bad either.

scottsdale, 87 in fountain hills, 86 up in cave creek, 97 in glendale, and 87 right now in ahwatukee. as we get it a look at it here, things look pretty good. we have a little bit of moisture over in new mexico. but things are going to be changing as we introduce newton into the landscape. this is newton down here. this is the track newton will take late tuesday into wednesday. we are going to start seeing the moisture from newton. this is the futurecast right here. we put i and you can see some pretty good storms getting in here tuesday evening. right there in phoenix, look at this mess right in here. this is wednesday, just before noon. but look at all of the moisture down south here. look at that red. that's really heavy rain right there, and as it comes rolling up, look at that. until 7:40 on wednesday, and then we let it go again, and you will see more moisture forming around the state into thursday late in the day.

certainly in play. now, as we get a look at the temperature high on the day today, 103 degrees, 100 at goodyear, another 100 in scottsdale with 99 out at gateway. 82 degrees at show low. we had 83 degrees in prescott, 88 in sedona, with 73 at flagstaff, 104 at gila bend, and look at that, 98 degrees today in yuma. so temperatures are coming down a little bit. but look at this overnight low, 75 degrees. 103 and 80 would be your normal high and low. record high 113, record low at 61. 96 in deer valley, 96 at buckeye, and 98 in ahwatuke, and 96 at sky harbor. that's what we are forecating for tomorrow. 73 at flagstaff, 82 in prescott, 100 at yuma. take a look across the country here, and you'll see some action

minnesota had some pretty good storms early in the day today, and then they reformed, so they got a couple of shots of it. and then down in the gulf states once again down by louisiana, they were picking up more moisture. but as we look at this rotation here, once again, hermine was still part of the problem as far as the northeast is concerned. you can see the movement of hermine. it's kind of all over the place here but staying up in new england. there's the eye right out here around, especially to these outer islands just south of boston. and look at these numbers here, 84 in new york but 74 up in boston with that heavy rain up there, 87 in chicago, 92 in omaha, mid-70s in salt lake city, and 64 up in seattle. overnight and tomorrow morning, 86. by tomorrow afternoon, 96. as temperatures start to come
