rapper's tour bus and taking off with a briefcase that contained the jewels fox 10's steve krafft joins us live with the latest. >> late breaking development, let me show you a picture of the man we were talking about he is 21-year-old traifian king. take a look. here is the back story. sergeant vince lewis of phoenix p.d. tells us investigators identified traveon king by looking at surveillance video and then t king was already in jail because he had been arrested for trespassing earlier in the day by campus police at asu in tempe. they put two and two together and now traveon king will be looking at burglary charges. >> in this video you can see the rapper drake gesturing. he looks irate after someone made off with $3 million worth of jewelry and valuables and a

pawnshop with that dollar, it will pic some interest -- pique some interest. >> but that's not going to happen because that stuff has been recovered by the police and traveon king is under arrest. you might be wondering how was it that allegedly he was able to get in here to talking stick resort arena? king had done some part time work at the arena and he was kinda sorta known around here. reporting live, steve phoenix police have identified an armed suspect shot dead by officers. investigators say the mother of 25-year-old dillon papa called 911 yesterday. he had a large sword and arguing with her at an apartment complex near 37th street and earl. he took off before police got there but his mother says he came back and threatened people with the knife and assaulted a man. the officers say papa came with him with a large hunting-style

rounds on him but did not stop him. police then opened fire killing him. investigators say papa had an outstanding warrant. in a developing story tonight, a pinal county sheriff's detention lieutenant has been rushed to the hospital after being stabbed by inmates. investigators say that lieutenant was attacked by three inmates at the pinal county jail and stabbed multiple times. the lieutenant was air lifted to the hospital and is stable right now. it's not clear what led to that attack or any additional charg those inmates will be facing. we will keep you updated. on to a fox follow-up, maricopa county deputies recovered the body of 24-year-old man at lake pleasant. deputies had been searching the lake for day chedz disappeared this sunday while at the lake with friends. he was a medical student who went swimming while boating and never resurfaced. investigators are hoping to learn more about his death as the family says he was an

after lashing parts of mexico with strong winds and heavy rain killing four people, the remnants of tropical storm newton fizzled out in maricopa and pinal counties. brought fewer showers than we were expecting. southern arizona took the brunts of that rainfall where flooded roads and washes were reportedly down there. there was scattered rain overnight and also into the morning in the valley with some light rain throughout the day. downtown phoenix had a bit of drizzle and overcast skies for most of the afternoon. but over in the far a wash flooded at 307th avenue and watermelon drive. near gila bend. maricopa county sheriff's offices deputies say a woman drove into the wash and ended up calling 911 after the water started rushing right over her floorboards but luckily she was able to get out safely. nicole garcia has more on the storm tonight. an ominous looking cloud cover hung above the valley for most of wednesday. we have been watching and waiting for newton to bring rain

part he left the valley high and dry. remnants of tropical storm newton brought cooler temperatures, clouds and spotty and sporadic showers. a cell dumped a lot of rain west of maricopa flooding several sections of state route 238. at one point during the morning, adot shut down a 20 mile stretch of the two lane county highway because of flooding. adot brought trucks to pump the water out. the rains caused a bit of an annoyance for the truckers who use this road but no major problems. truckers p county were worried about stormy weather and were relieved that road conditions remain clear and the winds remain calm. >> i have been driving since this morning and came from vegas. it's different. more cloudy. cloudier and cloudier. i see a little bit rain around casa grande. >> and we were if buckeye for two days and watching the news while we were in buckeye. it was bad but they said one of

so hopefully it's just heavy rain. i can make it through the rain. >> adot was bracing for possible flooding on major roadways. their freeway signs warned drivers to be on the lookout for adverse weather. but it appears the valley pretty much dodged the hurricane that was newton. nice part of the storm system brought cooler temperatures and a bit of humid conditions to the valley. things are expected to be a bit warmer and drier. and dave munsey now live with a look. you told us this is w would do. >> it is most of the moisture went south -- or stayed in the south of us. a lot of us went east of us. but it certainly did cool the temperatures down. it was very, very nice early in the day today and the moisture is still out there but once again it is off to the east of us, down south of us still. and we will take a look and see what we have as far as the numbers are concerned on this look at that development right

that, 3.4 inches over in the southwestern or southern portion. 2.1, 2.7. over by tucson. 1.3, we have 1.1 just south of the phoenix there. you get closer into the phoenix area and you can see the amounts are less than half an inch in most places over by chandler. little more than half an inch in wickenburg area a little more than an inch and half an inch in other areas. and as we look off to the east there, once again very, very small stuff once again to the south of us and the -- you can see down by casa grande and eloy about half an inch down there as well. and then a look down by tucson, look at that. 1.5-inches in the tucson area. very heavy rain down there. and once again this is what we are looking at the present time as this storm system winds out of here. i will be back in a few minutes and we will take a full look at what's going on as far as the

day today. we did expect most of this moisture to stay south of us and to go east of us. that's what it did. 87 degrees right now. winds west at 14 miles per hour. currently it's 86 degrees in fountain hills. 87 at deer valley in surprise 87. at goodyear it's 86 degrees. and out at apache junction now we have 83 degrees. moisture, yup, we got some moisture around as well. and in fact that stuff is of winding its way out of here. as it does, it just kind of winds stuff back into place again. so we do keep a chance of rain in the forecast. look at that on the west side. things are wearing out pretty good. right here in central phoenix we have a few little flashes of sprinkles and things that we have out there. on the east side we are seeing it's still holding up pretty good and that's a side that it is exiting from.

florence and here is eloy down here. casa grande and then this is a storm developing here it was over casa grande. you can see it moves off to the south a little bit and then it falls apart a little bit. might even kick a little dust up down in that area. and they did get some heavy rain down in the southern portion of the state. and we also continue to have until 7:00 a flood advisory. that is just to the northwest of buckeye at this time. and as we put into motion, look at that. whoa, everything moving on out of the state here. over the next couple of days we are just drying things out to very, very nicely. let's take a look and see what happened on the high today. look at that 88 degrees. 87 in scottsdale. 90 up in glendale today. so those temperatures falling off very nicely. here it is right here. you see a few storms across the northern plains, working their way into the great lakes.
