well, the victim in this tragic case, 49-year-old denia farmer. i want to show you where this happened. it's on the northbound lanes of the 51 freeway and see her right there between mcdowell and thomas. >> phoenix police believe this deadly encounter did not start on the freeway but at 7th avenue and broadway in south phoenix. they do not think it was a random attack like the serial shootings on valley freeways last year or a deadly string of shootings this year onit streets. police say they received a half dozen 911 calls of a white work truck driving erratically on the freeway. one of those calls from the victim. 49-year-old denia farmer. she described the truck chasing her and her call cut short by gunshots. the black older model honda accord crashed into a concrete median. court records show denia farmer entered a guilty plea last year to aggravated harassment after a split with her husband.

breaking and then being put back on probation. police say there were three men in the work truck. but the fatal shots came from one of the men. they want the other two men to call police. >> maybe one of them goes, hey, i didn't realize she was going to die. i didn't pull the trigger. i'm going to save myself. maybe that's what his conscious says. maybe he says i thought we were going to scare her and it is going too far. >> police hoping someone police believe the truck got off the freeway and went east on thomas after the shooting. police add if someone is chasing you on the road it's best not to go on the freeway where high speeds make it difficult for cops to come to your aid. the better idea is to stay on city streets and turn right at a major intersection so police can meet you there and come to your assistance. reporting live, steve krafft, "fox 10 news."

be at all connected to the serial street shooter case, but police continue to ask for the public's help in that case as well. the serial street shooter blamed march there is now a $75,000 reward for information leading to his arrest. the gunman mostly targeted victims at random. in west phoenix and maryvale and strayed east. he is described as hispanic man in his early twoants and possibly driving a black bmw if you hav remain anonymous there is a reward as we mentioned. call police or silent witness. we are learning more tonight about three inmates suspected of attacking two employees at the pinal county jail. investigators say robert via lobos and santaing whya sanchez. another is accused of assaulting a sergeant that suffered a hand injury. the lieutenant is treated for

deputies say all three inmates are documented gang members. via lobos is held on counts including conspiracy to commit murder. the another is awaiting sentencing for manslaughter and a weapons violation. they are likely going to face more charges. developing story with the arizona mexico border at the port of entry after shots are fired at the nogales port of entry. according to u.s. customs and border protection a man was driving south through crossing when he suddenly began to swerve and drove his car toward custom officers and a border patrol agent. they opened fire on the car striking the driver several times. he was air lifted to a tucson hospital a second person in that car suffered minor injuries and was taken into custody. northbound traffic is being allowed to head into arizona at this time but southbound going into mexico, those lanes are closed and likely shut down for

heavy hearts today as a navajo code talker is layed to rest. joel kelwood buried with full military honors this afternoon at the v.a. national cemetery in north phoenix. kelwood died in phoenix on monday and he was 95. nicole garcia now with how he is being remembered. >> one of the last remaining and a navajo code talkers passed away at the age of 95. and today family, friends and fellow marines honored >> joe kelwood was a proud veteran. this was him singing the marine corps hymn in navajo. something he enjoyed doing. thank you. >> thursday a couple of the remaining navajo code talkers finished the hymn at kelwood's funeral. kelwood served in the first

battles on the pacific front including the battle of okinawa. kelwood was one of 400 navajos that were recruited by the u.s. military as code talkers. a secret group that transmitted battle messages in their native unwritten language. >> we owe them such a great honor and they were secret until 1968 and they were all used all the way up until that time by the united states government. so navajo code talkers, than you so very much for what you have done for our country. >> today there are only 15 code talkers still living. they are proud to have come up with a code that the japanese soldiers could never crack. >> it was official military code that was developed using the navajo language in such a way that only those of us who went to code school know what the code is. so if navajo was listening to us, and didn't geg through that,

that folks are waiting for. some love the idea. some not so much. but we got a sneak peek today while these incredible animals are adapting to their new home. >> oh -- it's right here. >> really? >> she is delicious. >> cory mccloskey got a chance to meet the dolphins on the morning show today. three females and two males now living at the dolphinnerious. are taking reservations for people who want to see these amazing mammal. >> answer questions about conservation and have some fun in this pool but then the main habitat we got all of these shelves where people can stand and do a shallow water dolphin experience. >> today they are enjoying a snack of smelt fish and herrings with a little squid on top. >> these are n inshore bottle nosed dolphins. they spend their time in about ten feet of water.

interesting story early in training camp. media types were asking the question, how would you compare david johnson let's say to another running back and made the comment, he is kind of a bigger faster version than cardinal great larry centers. this is exciting about number 31 david johnson in his second year out of northern iowa. you can toss the ball corner. he has speed and he has size is about 6'1", about 230 and has really soft hands out of the back field and then he can turn it upfield. you can split him out as a wide receiver. you can power run him between the tackles. he just offers you so much and so much versatility and who will forget really the run that kind of put him on the map against the eagles. look at him take contact and the
