12:00 am
good evening, everyone. first tonight on fox 10 news at 9:00, where is jesse wilson? it has been two months since the ten-year-old boy was reported missing from his home in buckeye, and tonight there is still no sign of him. >> thanks for joining us tonight. it is a heartbreaking that has made national headlines. jesse's first first reported the boy missing on a sunday night back in july. >> in the days after search parties looked for the little boy, police held news conferences. posters of jesse were hung all over the valley, but now it seems like the case has gone completely cold. andrew hasbun joins us live tonight from buckeye. andrew, any new information tonight >> reporter: unfortunately, john, not much. we haven't heard from jesse
12:01 am
heard from buckeye police. they say the investigation is ongoing. however, all over jesse wilson's neighborhood, there are constant reminders that the ten-year-old boy is still missing. tonight in buckeye, jesse wilson's picture still hangs in a few stores, including this yogurt shop not far from jesse's home near i-10 and watson road. >> we just feel like we can keep a little bit of hope still for the family, waiting for anything positive to come out. >> reporter: but after two months, have the fliers up anymore, and all police will tell us is that this investigation continues. >> no child should go missing that long and you're not even hearing about it anymore. in the beginning, it was on the news, it was everywhere. but now it's just like did he ever get found? is he still missing? what happened to this child? >> reporter: jesse was last seen missing on july 18th.
12:02 am
checking his room. >> my son either climbed out the window, which he has done before, or he has gone out the back door. >> reporter: soon after that call, volunteers filled school busses and searched the open desert near the ten-year-old's home. the fbi and buckeye police scoured the house in an early morning search, but they never released what they may or may not have found. back then in this neighborhood, jesse's picture was everywheher. >> we kept our eye open when we were walking around pokemon or like at the park daily. we kept our eye open to see if we could find him. >> and now? >> we look still, but -- >> they don't hear about it, so think quit it. >> at bradley in goodyear, a desk still sits in honor of jesse outside the school. and all buckeye police will tell us tonight is that this investigation continues, and they are asking anyone who may be able to help find jesse to give them a call.
12:03 am
andrew hasbun, fox 10 news. a phoenix woman accused of leaving her six-month-old baby alone in an unlocked car, 29-year-old sierra carter, was arrested last night after she allegedly left that baby in the car while she went into the store for about 14 minutes. police say that the car's air-conditioning was running. the windows were rolled up. court paperwork shows carter has a history with d.c.s. and that child is now in state care. a texas man charged with sexual abuse after police say he at the cardinals game yesterday afternoon. the woman was standing in a stairwell when 24-year-old benjamin maura allegedly placed his hand on her leg as she walked by. police say he touched a woman inappropriately, the woman then hit him with her phone. mauro denied hitting the woman.

a weekend of terror in new york and new jersey ends with a shootout between police and a suspected bomber. >> and tonight, investigators are looking into the past of ahmad khan rahami to see what connection, if any, he has overseas. the 28-year-old afghan immigrant was shot and killed by police early this morning after someone noticed him sleeping outside a bar. when police officers approached him, he pulled out a gun started firing. two officers were hit before rahami was eventually taken into custody. >> law enforcement officials say that fingerprints from the scene link him to two bombs in new york city and a third one in new jersey. the fbi says rahami was not on their radar, however. he was not on any no fly wrilis but he had visited afghanistan
12:05 am
as for his connection to local terror cells, authorities indicated he acted alone. >> the investigation is ongoing, so as we continue to investigate, we'll have new information, but as of right now there is no indication of a terror cell here. >> tell me about this suspect and what have you learned about him, and particularly his travels to afghanistan. >> good evening, john. let me first set the scene for you whe right now i am in linden, new jersey, and there are a lot of investigators here. there's police tape blocking off many of the roads, which have been closed for hours, because right here is where the police shootout with the suspected bomber happened earlier today, and during that shootout two officers were hurt. it was really a very frightening day, filled with more action than anyone this tight knit community ever could have
12:06 am
earlier, we were in elizabeth new jersey, which is a nearby town. that is where the suspect lived, and he lived actually on top of their family owned chicken restaurant, and i spoke with many neighbors, many of them who knew him, and no one outwardly said that he was a very nice guy, but they said that he was kind of reserved, a little shy, served them food every single day. but really a very tight knit and very quiet community. so for something like this to happen is pretty much the thing anyone ever expected. >> dana, i appreciate you chatting with us tonight. we'll be checking in with you throughout the week. meanwhile, another attack, a stabbing attack in a minnesota mall is having investigated as an act of terrorism. i.s.i.s. is calling the attacker a soldier of the islamic state, and investigators are working to figure out whether or not the 22-year-old man had ties to the

investigators say he mentioned allah while carrying out the attack in the mall, and asked one of the victims if he was a muslim. the whole thing ended when an officer was stabbed and then she shot and killed the attacker. >> the attacker is believed to be a somalian. he lived in st. cloud and worked there. we are hearing that hundreds of people were mistakenly given u.s. citizenship, even though the u.s. government had ordered them deported. homeland security secretary says that the nearly 1,000 immigrants mistakenly given citizenship used fake names and birthdays, and their applications weren't flagged because of outdated fingerprint databases. at least two of the immigrants now are being prosecuted, and two others linked to terrorism have been referred to the fbi.

currently being tested on the streets of chandler. maybe you have seen a few of them. but in those three crashes, the self-driving technology, we are told, is not to blame. in two of the crashes, the vehicles are being operated manually by google employees. someone is in trouble. and in one of those crashes, the vehicle was rear-ended and the driver of the other car was arrested on suspicion of dui. i guess the self-driving car can't prevent that. in the third crash, the google vehicle was operating inc also rear-ended at a stoplight. >> i mostly drive on the freeway, so my concern would be them driving on the freeway, because it takes a human element out of their decision of pulling in front of us. they see us as a vehicle, not an 80,000-pound truck. >> google man self-testing or testing the self-driving cars in chandler earlier this year. the vehicles can navigate the streets on their own, but a human driver is always on board
