carolina where two nights of unrest have led to more than 40 arrests. one man was shot during last night's rioting and moments ago we learned that man has died. these are live pictures from ferguson. you see a huge police force, the national guard already in that city. large number of employers like bank of america, wells fargo rgs duke energy. they told their employees to basically stay home. and you can see that they appear to be ready tonight. there are protesters there. the hope from everybody it stays calm. >> and the national guard on scene in charlotte as well. charlotte is the latest city to erupt into violence following the shooting of a black man. there have been protests in chicago, new york but ferguson, missouri pushed it into the national consciousness. glendale police commander served

ferguson for several months following that shooting. and tonight he's talk being that experience at a community meeting in glendale. andrew hasbun spoke with him today. >> he came to ferguson not long after the shooting of an unarmed african-american man that sparked major conflicts in that city. he became the city's first african-american police nation saw of ferguson, missouri, before commander andre anderson came on board. >> i really thought i would be going into a war zone. but when i got there i found out the people of the community are great people. a lot of pride. >> he spent five months as the interim police chief in that city and worked to rebuild the department's relationship with the city.

what they are telling you. if there is validity, you have to address it. >> anderson told us today he feels police officers have gotten a bad wrap. >> there are a small number of them that have earned some of the bad things that have taken place. and unfortunately, they make it bd for the rest of us. because the vast majority of police officers are gocaring, gd natured people. think we don't care. we are the community. we are not perfect. we are not infallible. we make mistakes. the vast majority of us take on this job because we care. >> anderson says the glendale police department is commit today community policing and proof is the event they have scheduled for tonight. i'm andrew hasbun, fox 10 news.

dialogue. glendale council chambers. it begins at 6:00, it runs until 8:00. it will be fascinating. it is free and open to the public. >> in court, a valley woman accused of driving drunk pleads not guilty to manslaughter charges. she admitted to drinking, taking prescription pills and cocaine before getting behind the whole and causing a deadly crash. that's her mug shot and this is her in court. the crash killed two people. the victim's family upset she was released without having to pay a bond. the attorney's office is working to change that. >> the county sheriff deputies arrest two people. they found three pounds of marijuana, a gun. mcso says one of the people was an illegal immigrant that was

jorge on the left of your screen. >> it actually shaked my whole house. i thought maybe a terrorist attack, or there was an earthquake. all of these things are running through my mind. >> terrifying moments. check this out for people in a north phoenix neighborhood. look at that inferno. several large explosions rock that neighborhood in the early morning hours flattening a mobile home where the fire broke out. this happened in the area of 35th avenue and nobody was seriously hurt. anita has more from the witnesses. >> you can hear the explosion in the cell phone video shot by a neighbor. >> boom, and then you hear something shoot up in the air. >> john says he heard up to 10 booms. and says he and dozens of others watched in terror as huge, bright flames engulfed the mobile home behind his. >> i look over. the flames are 30, 40 feet in the air.

explosion after explosion. >> i just woke up, looked outside and i realized the whole sky was like orange. >> we got our dogs out, our kids out and came out to help in any way we could. >> by the time neighbors realized what was going on, it was too late to help. even crews had to hold back. >> it was significant if you look at the placement of our trucks. usually we would pull past it and get a 360, we couldn't even heat and the fire. >> 50 firefighters worked tirelessly to make sure the fire didn't spread. while good samaritans rescued a dog and horse in the back of the property. >> they actually did cut through the fence and to get him through they had to put his head down and get him through. that's how the horse got the leg cut up. >> two people that live next door were hurt. they will be okay.

the neighbors grateful no one was home or the outcome could have been much worse. anita roman, fox 10 news. >> a consumer alert. yahoo admitting it was hacked nd the personal information of half a billion people were st stol stolen. it happened in 2014 but it's just now coming to light. the stolen data include some really important stuff. user names, email dates of birth, and passwords. yahoo is blaming the attack on a state-sponsored actor. >> are you looking to earn a little extra cash this holiday season? who is not? well, the post office is hiring. they need your help. 200 seasonal workers here in the valley are being hired. the work is temporary and employees can expect to work 30-50 hours a week.

reception. for one valley couple, one strange thing turned into the perfect setting for wedding photos and they went to a circle k to make that happen. >> everything was so smooth. we couldn't ask for a better day. >> it should have rained but for some reason it didn't. >> after the vows were taken, the bride got a crazy idea. >> and then, why don't we just go let's' do it. >> she likes circle k. >> they brought their good friend the wedding photographer in with them. >> we were literally coming out, getting in the car and they are like, let's go to circle k. and in my head i'm thinking circle k? >> the photographer captured this image of the couple walking into the circle k. lexie not caring about her dress. >> she ruined her wedding dress even. >> it was so worth it.
