thank you for joining us. we begin at 5:00 with a news alert. this is a live look at a terrible crash in the east valley involving three cars. this was a head-on collision. 10 people were hurt in this we wreck, one of them a young girl betwee6- she was thrown from one of the vehicles and is in critical condition. >> there are five other people rushed to the hospital as a result of this accident in serious condition. the scene you're looking at is at warner road and arizona road in chandler. the intersection partially you more details as the story develops. a scary situation for one valley woman. >> she was a good samaritan who

side of the freeway. >> she was trying to do a good thing and shortly after she pulled over, the people robbed her and assaulted her. >> danielle miller joins us live near loop 101 and southern where the accident happened. >> reporter: such a terrible situation. police are telling us this happened around 3:00 this morning in a southbound lanes of the loop 101 right near the 60 interchange. police tell us the woman in her 20's was driving home from work at the time when she pulled over to provide help to these people. a juvenile female got inside the vehicle and punched her in the face. the suspects robbed the woman and took her cellphone and money. all four people involved took off. police caught up with them in an

where this happened. all of them were in custody by 4:30 this morning. many people have good intentions and want to help, they say it is always best to call police. >> the best thing someone can do to do to help is call police. call a nonemergency number or you can call 911 that way when we get out there, we have all of the resources if they need, truck or just need a ride. >> reporter: police are telling us the main female suspect in this case was a juvenile. she is a runaway. police are telling us the three other suspects in this case are adults. they are being charged with simple assault and robbery. no word on their identity. danielle miller, fox 10 news. >> on to a couple of developing

gunpoint and shot him. the victim was shot once and is expected to survive. officers say the men had dread locks and in a red chevy tahoe. anyone with information is asked to call police. a woman in critical condition after being stabbed several times. police say it was a case of domestic violence at an apartment near 15th and oak streets. the woman was able to get away and officers say they found not clear what led to the attack but thankfully, the woman is stable. mcso deputies going door-to-door to make sure sex offenders are at their registered addresses this weekend. they checked 70 houses. they found four people not at their registered address as of yesterday. sex offenders are required to

address. less than 24 hours before the big debate at half -- hofstra university between hillary clinton and donald trump. >> both candidates are preparing in different ways. both candidates are gearing up for what could be the most watched political event in tv history. today, donald trump's campaign manager compared his skills on the debate stage to one of greatest baseball players of all time. >> i can understand why the clinton camp is nervous. he is a brilliant debater. newt gingrich said he is like the babe ruth of debating. he shows up and swings and does a great job. >> reporter: hillary clinton's campaign manager is concerned that hillary clinton won't have time to fact check donald trump.

it. >> if donald trump lies for the moderator to point it out. make sure his lies are corrected and present her vision. >> reporter: each candidate is taking a different approach to get ready for the big debate. clinton staying near her home meeting with her team. trump was out campaigning as of last night. he met privately with israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu. he has not practiced a full-length debate but practiced questions he might face. >> we spoke with political analyst stan barnes about the debate. tomorrow night is the first time the nominees will be debating in the same room. this is their chance to leave an impression on voters. the stakes in tomorrow's debate is higher than any other debate.

america-- an internal across america, an internal obama e-mail shows that immigration officials could be working overtime to swear in as many new citizens as possible before november. >> adam housley has more tonight. >> reporter: the department of ho accused of an election year immigration push that could create thousands of new voters. in a letter written addressed secretary jeh johnson, senators question a u.s. citizenship e-mail sent to the houston field always encouraging staff to work overtime, including weekends saying in part "the field office due to the election year needs

field cases as possible before november 2016." senator johnson says the maneuver is suspicious. >> if they are prioritizing citizenship prior to an election, it tells you something. you can make certain assumptions that other applications and other visas and the other things that they process is going to be lower priority. >> new citizens tend to vote democrat and that is the motivation for doing this. >> reporter: in response to the senator's letter and inquiries from fox news, a statement released reading "ucis anticipated a spike in applications as we usually see in election year but it has exceeded expectations. ucic has experienced staff and

he -- authorities say they would not have been able to catch him if it wasn't for the public's help. >> we began interviewing acquaintances, family members associated with the tip and it grew a stronger connection for us. >> again, authorities were able to arrest him quickly after the information. they have yet to release the motive for the shooting but the f.b.i. has said there is no indica if you are ready for fall, you are going to love the forecast in the coming days. cooler temperatures and maybe a few raindrops. we'll look at your full forecast

wind advisory and that is until 4:00 tomorrow. we're talking about gusts 40-50 miles an hour are possible. gusty conditions in bullhead city, 32 miles an hour at this hour. 22 miles an hour gusts in lake havasu. 5 miles an hour gusts into the grand canyon. the chance of activity and storms popping up in our forecast a result of this system. as we look into tomorrow evening, you can see that moisture pushing in, activity into tuesday morning. tuesday evening, wednesday a chance for scattered showers. maricopa county doesn't look like we're getting too much activity but we could see a stray raindrop or two. 90's in lake havasu. mid 70's for st. johns. 95 for gila bend. 81 into douglas. take a look at these numbers,

we have a happy update we have a happy update for you from a story that we first brought to you last night. >> yesterday, peoria police found a turkey wand aring the streets. we don't hear about this. >> not a javelina, a turkey. >> they were asking for the public to help connect this bird with its owner and marcy jones has the tale of the reunion. >> reporter: farmer eddie said he did not know one of his babies was missing morning when he got a panicked phone call from one of his neighbors. >> he said i know it is your turkey. i said i don't know. i counted and yeah, they're gone. >> reporter: it was a rough night for farmer eddie and his livestock. >> there are three or four missing so i'm sure the coyotes got the other one. they killed my llama, too.
