fox 10 news at noon starts now. >> hands up! >> how do you sleep? well, a protest gets a little messy this tempe as marchers take over the mill avenue bridge. three people arrested, including the organizer of the march, the protest after recent shootings, including a man shot in tempe. liz? >> reporter: some of the remaining protesters are here in front of the tempe police

released. as you mentioned, three people still in custody here at tempe police, the police department at least tweeting out that number 30 minutes ago. we know one of those arrested was jarrett maupin, the organizer of today's protest and others around the valley recently. take a look at this, his arrest caught on camera, this after the tempe police department warned protesters to stay off the sidewalk. the protesters told me before they hit the s were not planning to listen to that demand, no surprise that they didn't. more than 50 marched up and down the mill avenue bridge this morning, blocking traffic on both sides as police officers followed behind for about 45 minutes. these demonstrators were here to get transparency from the tempe police department after the death of 19-year-old davin hollins back in july, his family was here admitting to the fact that he did rob a walgreens in tempe before his death, but what

question. tempe police told everyone inside the walgreens when he was armed, so when a tempe police unit found him, they were under that impression as well. they chased hollins, who turned around, and that's when they shot him in the back, killing him. people out here, they want answers now. they were peaceful but willing to get arrested, and again three of them did. but 30 minutes after we watched as one protester who was detained, watched him get released. here's what he had to say to us. >> so the sergeant came and talked to me. he said, you know what jarvis, i thank you for your cooperation. i thank you for being transparent. he said, we are talking to each other. he said, you know what i'm going to do, you are going to go ahead and go home. i'm going to go ahead and go home, you know. >> we asked him if this makes him feel differently about

with all officers, just wanting the bad ones, as he called them, to be held accountable. three others arrested, at the station charged with impeding a public thorough fare, unclear when they will be she'sed. glendale police are asking for help tracking down a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman ned morning around 6:00 a.m. near 91st and betny home. police say he grabbed a woman by her hair, pulled her underneath a bridge and assaulted her. he has a bushy white mustache. police say he was driving a red four door car. developing for you this afternoon, a deadly shooting and police chase ends with two people in custody. >> the shooting happened at a chevron near hayden and mckellips last night. police arrived and found a man shot and killed. they were able to get the description of a possible

were taken in for questioning. police are still looking for two witnesses who told the gas station clerk to call 911. if you have any information please call police. we have a fox follow-up on a strange case, an attack on a good samaritan who thought she was helping people out on the side of the freeway. we are getting a first look at two of the three suspects, hatcher and smith, here are their pictures, in jail right now facing assault and robbery charges. a on the 101 early yesterday morning. investigators say when she pulled over to help, people got inside her car, they attacked her and took her cell phone and her money. they took off but were later arrested at a apartment complex a couple of miles away. there was a teenager with them as well. the name of the teenager hasn't been released. they are also facing assault and robbery charges. this is a big night tonight in politics. the first presidential debate

watched debate in history. clinton has a very small lead, 46-44% in national polls. >> john hook joins us live now from hofstra university in new york. john, you are looking sharp, my friend, ready for tonight. >> reporter: that's very nice of you, celeste. i have got to pace myself. we have got six hours before the main event takes the stage. hillary clinton and donald trump, we talked about wth and can this move the needle? i think it can, very similar to reagan and carter in 1980, millions tuned into the debate, particularly sizing up reagan to see if he's presidential. i think that's happening to donald trump right now. he's the one who is going to drive viewers tonight. people know hillary clinton. she has been in the public eye since the early '90s. before that, she was first lady with governor clinton. so they know her.

they are going to want to watch tonight to see if he has the temperament and the discipline and the level headedness to be commander in chief. i think there is a lot of that going on in the country right now, people sizing him up, and furthermore they want to see if he can hold his own. clinton has been preparig on policy, preparing for the last four days very hard. several mock debates. we are even learning of an early mock debate this mornin near the final hour here. policy will be her strength. the question is as americans size this up, how do they look at these two people on the big stage? and peter king, a congressman from new york, knows them both well. i talked to him earlier today. >> people have not seen donald trump in a one on one debate. >> reporter: do you worry about him in that environment? >> if anyone can handle pressure, it's donald trump. i would worry about anyone in

it's really in some ways a one man detai debate. no matter what hillary does, it's not going to change people's opinion of hers. >> we talked about this this morning, troy, when donald trump is off the prompter, when he's off that, does he revert to his natural instinct, which is attack dog, throwing out all of the stuff that played well in the primary, on the big stage, particularly against a woman, he has to watch it. he's he has to kind of temper some of that stuff. that will be what a lot of people are looking for tonight. can he deftly walk that line? and that becomes the central question, who looks presidential? i think hillary clinton has kind of passed that test. people know she has the chops. the question is, does donald trump and we'll find out tonight. >> i'm looking forward to it,

a new page of controversy for sheriff paul babeu. sources tell us the fbi has subpoenaed records related to how babeu's office used seized criminal money also known as rico funds. critics have said pcso's use of the foundation is like money laundering. and they've also accused babeu of using the funds to fuel his campaign. it may already be illegal campaigning with government resources. or if they're just being used to make the sheriff look good, as he runs for congress. dccc is responsible for the content of this advertising. you are watching fox 10 news at noon with troy hayden and syleste rodriguez.

developing this afternoon, investigators are now inspecting the car and home of the man who police say opened fire on people in the parking lot of a houston, texas mall this morning. >> nine people injured, one of those people critically. some victims getting shot while inside their cars driving new the area. the gunman shot and killed by police there. numerous weapons were found at the scene, including inside the suspect's car. so police say the man who was a lawyer who was upset with his firm. he lived in a neighborhood right near that the houston shooting coming just days after a shooting at a washington state mall left five people dead. >> the suspect in that shooting is expected to make his first court appearance today. 20-year-old arcan cetin was arrested saturday after a 24-hour manhunt. investigators say cetin opened fire inside the macy's makeup section of the mall. this was an hour north of

heavy rain... leads to a lot of rain leads to a lot of flooding in iowa. look at this water flowing here, thousands of people have to evacuate their homes in cedar rapids and waterloo, school in some areas cancelled until at least wednesday. the flooding is expected to get worse this week, look at that, all the way up to the roof almost on that building, river expected to crest today at 16 feet, getting up to 23 feet on tuesday. well, good afternoon, everyone. nothing like that here. we do have some cloudy skies over the valley now. take a look at this. we are going to take a look at in a few minutes or satellite and radar and you are going to see some of the clouds really starting to form just south of us. 88 degrees here at this hour, a quick look at eagar, sara sending us this photograph, thank you for that, that's a gorgeous shot there as you can see.

of the clouds that she is receiving here, that gives you an idea of what we are going to see here. take a look at southern arizona, tuscon, nogales, all of these folks starting to see some storm activity just around 10:00 or so this morning. that's when it really started to move in. and we are going to take a wider look here. and then we'll look at some of the activity that we'll experience in the next 24-48 hours or so. take a look at this futurecast. and some of that cloud cover up into the high country, into sedona, that's by tonight at about 7:00, and then take a look at some of these storms that really start to build. a lot of those storms coming through tuscon, right up the middle of the state by wednesday around noon. flagstaff, sedona, going to see some of those storms. and then north of that, north of the grand canyon, north rim, south rim, and then the area around page you're going to see some of these storms as well. take a look at this, temperatures across the state right now.
