hitting the ground and kicking the dust up. we end up with a blowing dust advisory. this is until 7:00 this evening. so be aware. you can see phoenix is not involved in this at the present time. gila bend and casa grande, and some of the smaller towns just to the south of the city are involved in this. phoenix at this time, is not. it is until 7:00 and it is going to be throwing dust up into this so it may get a little relief after the dust comes through. however, there is another storm. it is a big storm east of flagstaff that has a severe thunderstorm warning attached to it. we'll have news on that coming up. let's get back to the pictures from sky fox. the wall of dust is making its way in. this is east of maricopa as we

this maricopa neighborhood. >> we went to bed and there was more shooting and then the flas& and bang and the helicopters. >> reporter: the shootout between a u.s. border patrol agent and maricopa police officers ended with the suicide of 40-year-old jeremy russo. a tragic outcome to what started with a 911 call made by his own daughter who reported a domestic violence situation in t >> you know how maricopa is. everyone comes home from work and goes inside their house. i see the boy walking home from school. >> reporter: russo was armed with an ar-15 rifle and opened fire on two responding maricopa police officers from his second-story window. one officer shot backfiring five rounds. no one was hit during the shootout. three homes across the street were struck.

the swat team was called in. a robot entered the home and found russo's body in an upstairs closet. police say he shot himself in the head. >> this is such a quiet neighborhood. we're sorry this had to happen in our neighborhood. in southern arizona, a woman faces manslaughter charges after officers say she death in a crash. she fought with him and tried to prevent him from leaving a store on sunday. investigators say she chased him down with her s.u.v. as he road away on his harley davidson. the man was going 65 miles an hour when he crashed into a light post. a man is arrested on a.s.u.'s tempe campus for allegedly taking pictures of

officers were called after reports of a man in the women's bathroom. offers detained this man and say that took his phone. in an interview, he told police he took the photos and videos because he had a dirty mind. student says they are still worried. >> it makes me feel uncomfortable. normally, when you go into the bathroom, you think nothing is wrong. i bathroom, ever. i don't know. it makes me really uncomforable. >> he has a $5,000 secured bond and is on immigration hold. his next hearing is on october 4. phoenix police arrest three juveniles after a series of online threats. carl hayden high school was the first to receive threats early yesterday morning and they quickly spread through social media.

violence. classes were not canceled. those arrested could be investigated by the f.b.i. and may face suspension or expulsion. others in the case have been identified and could face expulsion or suspension. the arizona's editorial board just endorsed hillary clinton for president. it says clinton "knows how to compromise a intelligence, decorum, and perspective. she has a record as first lady and secretary of state." the public editorial board says they have never endorsed a democrat for a presidential election. after a fiery debate last night in new york, hillary clinton and donald trump back on the campaign trail and each are claiming victory.

we have another look for you at sky fox as the wall of dust moves through maricopa and pinal county. there is a blowing dust advisory until 7:00. if your caught driving in this, especially on a highway and the visibility drops, they advise you to pull over to the side and don't accidently follow you. this appears to be a wide we'll have an update with dave munsey in a few minutes. it looks like at this point, we are making its way through the valley but we'll check in with hundreds of homes tonight in california, northern california being threatened by a dangerous fast-growing fire burning along the california central coast. the flames, intense flames as

let's look at where the fire is burning using the storyteller. it is right along the santa cruz beach boardwalk that is along monterey bay. you can see the flames by the beach and california's heat wave is making things even worse. fast-moving wildfire when an army of 500 firefighters are battling south of san jose, california. the fire has burned more than 1,000 acres triggering evacuations. >> hopefully, no other houses burn down. >> reporter: the fire has burned one home and threatening 300 more homes. >> i'm afraid if it climbs the

and radio towers. the fire can be seen for miles more than an hour south. fighting the fire is proving to be a major challenge. the area is experiencing a heat wave forcing firefighters to cope with triple-digits temperatures and it is burning along steep, rugged terrain fueling the flames. >> on top of the ridge and hoping it doesn't suck down into >> reporter: so far, no word on what may have starte the fire. it comes on what has been a tough year for california. thanks to the drought and heat to date, the golden state has seen 4,800 wildfires. fires have charred more than 200,000 acres. in los angeles, adam housley, fox news. still ahead after the break, the blowing dust making its way through the valley. what we can expect for the rest

a new page of controversy for sheriff paul babeu. sources tell us the fbi has subpoenaed records related to how babeu's office used seized criminal money also known as rico funds. critics have said pcso's use of the foundation and they've also accused babeu of using the funds to fuel his campaign. it may already be illegal campaigning with government resources. or if they're just being used to make the sheriff look good, as he runs for congress. dccc is responsible for the content of this advertising. we're looking at pictures

san tan and i-10. you can see the big wall of dust we've been watching since the beginning of the 6:00 newscast making its way into the valley. it started down south and you can see it is making its way in. a lot of dust behind this thing. dave munsey is keeping track of this thing for us. dave, we're seeing it move pretty slowly what it looks like to us. >> reporter: the moisture behind it is falling apart as the storms fall apart. generates. they kick up the dust and move it along and keep it going. if there was a larger storm behind this, it would be moving faster. it is a pretty well developed dust storm and there is no law, there is no rule that the monsoon can't go into october and that looks like a possibility this year. 87 degrees right now. those winds are down in phoenix. a little haze around but no dust

there is your 87, 85 at deer valley. 84 at fountain hills. in surprise, 84. 86 in glendale. here is the moisture we're talking about. we head into the flagstaff area where you see this storm system right here has generated a severe thunderstorm warning for the area and they are looking at that. they may expire that within a short amount of time and this is the area right here that we're looking at and be one of the situations as well. the storms are falling apart quite a ways away from phoenix. here is the advisory for dust and that is until 7:00 this evening. also, you should see that phoenix is now involved in this. it was not the last time that we showed it to you. here, once again is another look at that storm system as it rolls

the eastern side of the state here. in the central area, you can see in this area that is where the storms are cutting off at that very point. we do have tropical storms to the south of us that's rosalyn right there. that is not going to pose any problems. 88 degrees for the high. 86 in deer valley. 86 in buckeye. you can see the nice 70's and a few 60's showing up as far as the mountain temperaturesre concerned. as we take a look at the country, once again santa ana winds very hot. we have some wildfires that are tough to deal with in california. moisture on that eastern coastal area, take a look at almost .5 of an inch in washington, d.c. overnight. speaking of overnight, by sunday, the phoenix zoo, october 2, 8:00 a.m., the beautiful temperatures for the
