say the train never even slowed down. >> it crashed right into the end of the platform where people were waiting to get on the train, went airborne and hit the wall of a waiting room. eric shaun now has more more on what happened. >> reporter: a major commuter train crash early thursday morning caused chaos, left damage and more than a hundred people injured, happened during rush hour as the train barrelled into a busy platform, crashing into the platform, causing extensive people who were able to escape say there was no warning before the crash. >> it was life or death. there was no indication of whether or not the train was going to actually stop. the lights went out, people were screaming, and it collapsed so people started panicking. >> multiple first responders rushed to the scene in hoboken, helping to triage and assessing significant damage to the building, a busy transportation

>> heavy damage to the terminal, which is why it's being evacuated, investigated by the transit department, fire department engineers and multiple law enforcement agencies. >> several law enforcement agencies are at the scene and more are on the way. there is no word yet on what exactly caused this crash, but eye witnesses say the train was just going too fast when it entered the station. >> there is a solid concrete steel bumper block where if the train would have hit it. apparently the train was traveling fast enough to have gone over it. >> a ntsb is assigned to investigate this crash. in new york, fox news. earlier reports had three dead but officials now say only one person was killed. it was a woman standing on a platform stuck by debris. 108 people were hurt. back here closer to home, a swat team called into a goodyear store in chandler this morning,

came face-to-face with a man who barged inside, trying to steal from the place, even fired a shot. the swat team was called in, and you can see the bear unit there, a kind of armored vehicle. nearby stores were evacuated, police searched for the gunman but did not find him. here's mark payne in court this morning, facing charges including attempted first-degree murder and assault. payne has a history of problems with police. in '97 assaulting officers, all during a traffic stop. phoenix police trying to solve the murder of a man found shot to death in his home. police called out late last night, people say he hadn't seen the man in a couple of days, the man a 53-year-old kenny bryce senior. they say he had been beaten badly and also shot, not clear if it was a targeted attack or if he was robbed.

on saturday. you can rsvp through gary johnson's website. donald trump back in arizona, this time on tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the prescott valley event center. he's been here six times or this will be his sixth since he announced running for president. our state is pretty close. a recent wall street journal poll has him beating hillary clinton right now but only by one percentage point here in arizona. after endorsing hillary says its editorial board is getting death threats, yeah, some readers not happy, the editorial staff endorsing a democratic candidate for the first time in its 126-year history. the republic said they were expecting some subscription cancellations but not death threats. hillary clinton a busy day after a speech in des moines with events planned in ten cities.

new at noon... a beauty school that's been in business fifty years is closing all of its campuses a beauty school that's been in business for 50 years is closing all of its campuses across the country, including five of those campuses right here in arizona, and so now a lot of students are kind of in the lurch. recently, they closed all 79 of its campuses on its website listing a number of factors contributed to this, including a lack of funding, a drop in the number of of cosmetology students and a negative portrayal of for profit schools, five here in arizona and three right here in the valley. wells fargo ceo apologizes as he testifies on capitol hill about the bank's questionable practices. john stumpf continues to be grilled in washington here. you are looking at some of the video. many in congress calling for his

>> spilling your coffee -- let's go. let's find out what your weekend will be like. boy, is this you? will you soon be taxiing down the runway at sky harbor? i don't know. but wherever you go in west, the weekend is going to be great. but why not stay here? we are going to be just as nice, 83 at sky harbor, an east wind at ten. we typically make it to about 95. but we won't get there today, and as we make our way into next week, our first full week of october, it is going to be fantastic. but look what's still happening out here. we have still got this low circulating across the state, and it is pushing some very strong weather through the white mountains now. it is busy up that way. you folks in white river and show low and pinetop-lakeside, there is some heavy stuff moving northward. so again, everybody, keep your eyes on the southern skies for sure. let's take a closer look at how it's all moving.

been generally quiet. we have got a few sprinkles out there, especially out here on the west side, so buckeye is just seeing some rain that's pushing its way now over verado, headed north towards wickenburg, not much going on in the valley, but look at what's happening in the mountains, white river seeing a very strong storm with hail in it, drifting off to the east now, headed over towar through show low, up through snowflake, and then this long squall line pushing over the mogollon plateau, headed up towards winslow, probably going to see very strong weather here, holbrook as well. it's going to be that kind of day. but look at holbrook, you are in line for some strong stuff, all along i-40, man, if you have got someone leaving flagstaff here in the next couple of minutes, by the time they get over by winslow, it's going to be pretty rough.

south. you'll see that rough weather brewing for sure, also as you move into northern parts of both navajo and apache counties, we have got some rain on the way too. and back here flagstaff way, lesser showers, but again the rush hour or so that it takes you to get over to winslow should be enough to let the weather pass over the freeway. a quick look around the rest of the country shows we have still got gloomy conditions outside, stubrn bring the clouds and showers from chicago all the way to manhattan, but the rest of the country is kind of on the quiet side. we'll swing you back to arizona, and the way your day will wrap up will be kind of on the mild side, highs below average for sure, 83 in the valley, all of the cloud cover that we have seen, 66 in prescott, 93 for lake havasu city, you have seen a lot of sunshine. and those are the numbers at the moment, and we won't get a whole lot warmer than those, but here's the way the rest of the
