angela clark left her 3-month-old daughter alone in a bathtub last saturday for nearly half an hour. paramedics found the little girl unresponsive. a helicopter flew the baby to the hospital where she was put on life support but she died yesterday. police took clark into custody. phoenix police are trying to piece together a disturbing discovery. a severed arm found in south yesterday, more human remains found in the same area. police don't know who the victim is but they believe the remains are from the same person. andrew hasbun was in the area today and he has the latest. >> reporter: remains were found on the south side of the salt river bed. this is a massive area and it is not easy to get to. the challenge now for police is to figure out who this person

a worker made the gruesome discovery yesterday afternoon. he spotted the decomposing body on the south side of the river bed. people who work near 29th avenue and broadway have been on edge for more than a week. >> they are scared and worried. >> reporter: he runs an auto wrecking business. >> those are strange things that happen. i never heard offing anything le that happening before. an severed arm and this was close to where the body was found yesterday. >> because it is close to where the other one was found on the 21st, an animal might have dragged it to that location. >> reporter: because the body is in such bad shape, they have to wait for the medical examiner to determine how the person died

hapened and make sure that will not happen again. >> reporter: police do know the body belongs to an adult. anyone who can help should call silent witness. in southern arizona, two police officers are wounded in a shootout that also suffered a gunshot wound by return fire. it was during a traffic stop outside of a home in wilcox. investigators say the 69-year-old gunman pulled and got out of the car and then got back in the car and took off. the officer and suspect both expected to recover. video released of a deadly police shooting of an unarmed black man in el cajon. surveillance video shows the encounter on tuesday. an officer was responding to a call of a man walking around

officers say he did not follow orders to take his hand out of his pocket and he took an e-cigarette out of his pocket and pointed it at an officer and was shot dead. bullhead city police also releasing body cam video of an officer-involved shooting in kingman where the suspect was kill and the officer was wounded. we want to warn you that some people may find this disturbing. >> drop the gun. drop the gun. drop the gun. drop the gun. >> that video shows officers approaching the home, knocking on a door and saying they have a search warrant. seconds later, they forced the door open and they tell him over and over to drop the weapon and

shortly later, the suspect opened fire on the officers. all of the officer were wearing bulletproof vests. police are investigating the shooting. peoria police are searching for a man as they try to sexually assault a woman while she worked at a construction site. this happened at 99th avenue& and jomax. the woman was working at a housing development when the man brutally attacked >> when i pulled up, she was sitting on the ground and she had her face covered. she was on the phone with police. it was like, i said before, it was sickening seeing her like that. she was a wreck. >> police are letting the victim recover and they do not have a great description of the suspect but they are increasing patrol

mesa schools, the latest district to be affected by the let's play clown threats. it started earlier this week. hundreds of parents keeping their kids home from school or picking them up early. mesa confirming their schools were targeted. security was increased at the schools and mesa police say they will arrest and charge anyone caught making those threats. sheriff deputies are looking for a suspect who they say are connected to robberies in anthem. the suspect was captured in surveillance video. deputies think this robbery is related to a robbery that happened at a nearby papa murphys at a day before. if you have any information on the whereabouts of the suspects, you're urged to call police. arizona's first pit bull to become the first k-9 to help

a new page of controversy for sheriff paul babeu. sources tell us the fbi has subpoenaed records related to how babeu's office used seized criminal money also known as rico funds. critics have said pcso's use of the foundation is like money laundering. and they've also accused babeu of using the funds to fuel his campaign. it may already be illegal campaigning with government resources. or if they're just being used to make the sheriff look good, as he runs for congress.
