thanks for joining us for fox 10 news at 10:00. we begin with a news alert out of the east valley. fire crews on the scene of a deadly house fire. >> we know that at least one person is dead and let's get to marcy jones who has the latest from the scene. >> very sad night out here. lots of mesa fire units responding here on east dragoon. they tell us when they arrived on scene, they -- the house was absolutely engulfed in flames.

turn for the worst. there were several family members out here telling fire fighters that there was one more family member inside. unfortunately we know now that that man is in his early 50s and did not survive. neighbors tell us this is shocking. >> scary, my mom was crying about it. on the way back from taco bell it's scary because it could happen to anybody and they still don't know what caused it. they >> reporter: list are still investigating the cause, what led up to this fire and they're not releasing the identity of this man until there's absolutely sure the next of kin is properly notified. marcy jones, fox 10 news. people getting back in their homes in chandler after a gas leak. more than a dozen homes were evacuated in a neighborhood. fire crews were called to the te scene this morning because of a small bush intercontinental. fire fighters knew it -- brushfire.

normal fire because it kept reigniting. everybody has now been allowed to return home. right now search crews are back out in buckeye looking for missing jesse wilson. the 10-year-old was last seen nearly three months ago. search crews are combing the area around buckeye and avondale for any sign of the boy. now, this is at the request of jesse's maternal grandmother. the owners terrain search and rescue are pitching in to help. if you have any information, you're asked to call buckeye police. we are hearing from the family of a man shot and killed earlier this week in a qt parking lot. adam james was shot on thursday. we spoke to the mother of adam's fiance today who told us he was a good man who loved being a father. >> just asking if they turn

[crying] >> so that -- >> i -- [crying] >> i hate this. >> turn yourself in. that would be the right thing to do. >> police are still searching for the gunman who took off running away from the scene. anyone with information is asked to call police. three people behind bars in connection with a string of robberies night. investigators say they happened the same night at two phoenix gay bears. 20-year-old gio vanilyon, andrew saenz and a 15-year-old boy have been booked on counts of armed robbery, aggravated assault, and kidnapping. police say surveillance video at both bars helped lead them to the suspects. a deadly crash in chandler when a driver hits two bicyclists. the driver may have been

they hit the riders on arizona avenue and ryan road. both cyclists were taken to the hospital. one of the riders died from their injuries. -- the other bicyclist's condition is not known. you decide 2016. libertarian presidential candidate gary johnson, arriving this the valley to hundreds of fired-up supporters. >> he held a rally in phoenix today at the phoenix airport >> danielle miller was there. she's live with the >> reporter: a lot of passionate supporters there today. johnson tells us today even if he does not win, he feels successful about his campaign and hopes it will lead to the demise of a two-party system. >> so his policies are sound. he's been standing on the same prims since he was last time in 2012. >> reporter: former new mexico governor gary johnson making a stop here in the valley today. hundreds of people packing a rally showing their support for

candidate. >> i've never believed in one party fits all. >> reporter: those prims johnson talk about -- principles johnson talking about, his ideals about being fiscally conservative and socially inclusive and his policies on immigration reform. >> we should make it as easy as possible for? who wants to come into -- for somebody who wants to come into our country to work. >> reporter: in recent weeks he didn't recognize a reference to the syrian city he says that shouldn't discredit him as a true candidate. >> what? when it comes to world leaders, when it comes to geography, if i've got my ipad in front of me, that's a five-second phenomenon. but what's not a five-second phenomenon is honesty and integrity and telling the truth. >> reporter: johnson says in order for him to win, he needs to get on the debate stage. he has to get a 15% vote in the national polls in order to do so.

these primary races and i'm pretty even in the polsz. or close to even in the polls right now. >> this comes after two chefs backed it on of a lease to make a restaurant at the new trump international hotel in washington, d.c. now, trump has sued both of these chefs for breach of contract. he's seeking damages of more than $10 million from each chef. one illinois bakery is cashing in big on the 2016 elections with the candidates' faces on them. >> i think a lot of people are buying the cookies because they think they're somehow like voodoo dolls. if they do something to it, it will affect the candidate. >> yum. looked good to me. the cookies have proven to be a big hit at the bakery. they sell out of these cookies every single day. and the hillary clinton cookies is proving to be the more

phoenix police along with other law enforcem phoenix police along with other law enforcement agencies announce the second annual missing in arizona day. >> that day will take place on november 5th this year. the goal of the event is to raise awareness and support for loved ones who for those -- for those with loved ones who are missing. last year's event resulted in nine cases being solved. >> 32 cases were worked on last year and 22 new cases began as a result of the event. one woman who went to the event last year says it helped her

who are missing their loved ones. >> meet people and know kind of give them the chance to see that putt a love of them are still fresh. so they could see that even after all these years, you can you don't get over it but you can make it. >> every year there are nearly 2,000 people reported missing in this state. across america, sad update we've been following out of south carolina. the 6-year-old boy critically wounded in that school shooting, he didn't make it. he's passed away. jacob hall, another student and first grade teacher were rushed to the hospital after a 14-year-old boy opened fire on a school playground. police say that teen killed his father at their home before heading to the school campus. the 14-year-old shooter is being charged as a juvenile on murder and attempted murder charges. the teacher and the other

released from the hospital. a developing situation in the san diego area. demonstrators again turn out on the streets of el cajon protesting the shooting death of an unarmed black man by police. protestors speaking out against the death of alfred alongo. he was shot and killed by police earlier this week. the 38-year-old was shot after reports of erratic behavior. family members say police toll them alongo had an electronic cigarette and went into a shooting stance. th's man several times. the shooting is under investigation. it's an absolutely gorgeous october night out there. hopefully you're able to get out and enjoy the day. we do have some big changes in the forecast. we're talking about the potential for some rain. also a big cooldown. we'll break it all down after the break. stay with us.

mesa 79 as well as gateway and apache junction at 78 degrees. up north, things are well cooling down -- really cooling down quite nicely. flagstaff around 50. sedona 68. payson 63. the grand canyon 53. kingman at connection 9 and bullhead city at 84 degrees. the satellite and radar, just a few passing showers. very scattered and very light in the northern part of our state. but we will see a repeat tomorrow and those storms will be a little bit stronger and more we'll talk about that right now. so this starts tomorrow morning. we're going to start to see the clouds start to move up from -- starting to move north and we're going to start to see some rain around lunchtime, around casa grande. that could be more widespread around 4:30 in the afternoon, for places like prescott, sedona, flagstaff, they could be seeing some rain. they'll start to move their way

we'll talk about our snapshot. we're talking high today of 97 degrees. a little bit warmer than what we're used to. normal is 94. but no where near our record set back in 1980 when it was 107 degrees. for tonight, these are your overnight lows. most everybody dipping that the 50s in the northern part of our state, in the 70s this the southern. 72 for phoenix as well as gila bend. casa grande 67 tonight. globe at 64. overnight flagstaff 41. and the grand canyon, around 44. for tomorrow, things a little bit cooler than they were today. projected high in phoenix of 90, 94 in gila gend. the northern part around the mid 70s. sedona 76. flagstaff 64. prescott 73. the warm ones on our map, lake havasu at 96 and bullhead city at 95 degrees. you want to talk about this. top again, a little bit cooler

de fat festival in tempe earlier today. >> this event featured a costumed bike ride and a car for bikes swap. all things bike related. this required people to buy a $10 ticket to get in. >> and vendors highlighted how riding your bike can be good for you and the community. >> but also to get out of your car, get on a bike. you get to see more things. it's g so this pushes people to start riding bikes. after today a lot of people will continue to ride bikes. >> proceeds from the beer and merchandise sales will go to tempe-area nonprofit groups. ? asu in cali. let's just say it was a rough day. why quarterback manny wilkins had to be helped off the field. that's not good.
