thank you for joining us for fox10 news at 10. thank you for joining us for fox 10 news art 10:00. a terrible, heartbreaking story coming out of peoria after an infant dies. >> tonight police are saying it appears the baby had been left in a car for an extended period of time. danielle miller is live at the peoria police station with the latest on the investigation. good >> good evening, guys. yeah, such a terrible story out here. now, peoria police are still investigating as to exactly what happened out here. they're telling us that this 5-month-old little boy could have been in the car for several hours before being found. they're telling us that two caretakers for the little boy have been brought into custody. they're actually here right now at the peoria police department for questioning. >> we're just hearing people say, like, a baby was left in a

>> police responding to an apartment complex near 85th and peoria around 2:45 this afternoon for a report of an infant not breathing. when they arrived they found a 5-month-old boy in an apartment. >> upon arrival the child was found to not be breathing. that child was transport to the hospital in critical condition and was pronounced deceased at the hospital a short time later. >> police say the child was possibly left inside the car for several hours before getting brought to the a man and a woman who police say are caretakers were taken into custody for questioning. >> it was not the parents who were caring for the child at this time. >> and who initially found the child and also who called the police? >> i believe it was a combination of a neighbor and one of the caretakers had called us. >> it's devastating for a life to be taken at 5month old. it's just so soon. >> just keep an eye on your children. don't leave them anywhere.

kay takers -- caretakers will be facing any charges and which ones at this time. we're also not sure of their identity along with this 5-month-old. boy. reporting live, danielle miller, fox 10 news. >> thank you. it has been nearly three months since 10-year-old jesse wilson vanished from his home in buckeye. >> today volunteers were back out searching for the missing buckeye boy. crews were out scouring festival fieldses back in avondale. volunteers include members extreme terrain rescue. his grandmother organized today's effort. >> this particular terrain is actually -- it's actually thought too bad. i would say it's probably maybe mild to moderate. the worst terrain so far that we've been in was up at jacob's lake searching for little jerald from last year. that was some really rough terrain. >> jesse wilson was last seen back on july 17th.

his bedroom window. anyone with information is asked to call buckeye p.d. a wrong-way crash has closed the loop 303 at northern avenue. this is a live picture there that scene. adot says long delays are possible. drivers should consider using lop 101 as an alternative. there's no estimated time to re-open this highway. no details about this crash or if there are any injuries. crews are still unfortunately we have a sad update to a story we brought you earlier tonight. one of four children injured in a car crash in phoenix has died. phoenix police say the driver of that truck slammed into them. could have been impaired. now they've identified the suspect. >> he's facing manslaughter as well as other charges. marcy jones is here with details. >> reporter: they'd, guys. this was just a horrific crash. we've now learned the identity of that little boy. 6-year-old tyreke jenkins.

crash are still offer recovering tonight. the suspect is 19-year-old german goddine. police say impairment may have been a factor. at about 10:30 this morning, phoenix fire and police ru nits responded to a serious collision. first responders say four children and an adult were taken in critical condition. sadly, 16-year-old boy passed away -- one 6-year-old boy passed away. >> it's hard to was related or if they're friends. all we know is that we had four patients, one adult, and they're all transported to level 1 hospital. the police officers have their -- they have a long arduous process of going through the investigative portion of this and everything is taped off, so it's really hard to see and to gain access as to what's going on. >> while the cause is still unknown, phoenix fire captain says it's a reminder that driving is such a huge

passengers. cautioning all to eliminate all distractions before getting behind the wheel. >> we see this stuff every day. and we care for our community so much and that's why we're always championing the message of wear your seat belts, don't text and drive. not saying any of these were contributing factor, but this is stuff that happens often and it's just -- it's just -- it's a bad deal. >> police say thankfully there were a few goodam helped the victims before emergency crews arrived on scene. >> there was a group of people from the air force that were immediately on scene and helped to extricate the occupants of the trick. so this were -- of that truck.& so they were here quickly and did what they could to help the people out of that truck. >> reporter: goodine has been charged with manslaughter. more charges may be added depending on the outcome of the

>> marcy, thanks. new developments on the deadly fire we first told you about last night. mesa police have identified the man who was killed. 52-year-old manuel garcia was trapped inside a burning bedroom yesterday. at this home near broadway and val vista. according to witnesses, they could hear fire alarms going off and could smell the smoke. one knocked on the bedroom door and as it opened, investigators say oxygen rushed in, causing a flare-up. they say that blew out a window. crews later found garcia's body. investigators are still looking into what started the fire. this morning's rain caused some problems for people on the loop 101 in glendale earlier today. the wet weather forcing a car to spin out and crash into a wall. making it face to wrong way. you can see the adot video. troopers were there at the scene to try to get the carp facing the right direction.

collision. well, you probably didn't miss it. you probably saw it -- a lot of people across the valley saw it. we're talking about rain. >> i certainly saw it. >> and smelled it and heard it. a line of storms really kind of coming through -- >> all morning long. fox 10's kristy -- kristy siefkin joins us live. >> conditions have calmed down quite a bit, particularly in ph tonight pretty quiet out there. we'll zoom in, start knew the valley and you'll see that -- start you in the valley and you'll see dry as a bone. severe arizona, we saw some showers rolling through wilcox, to the north of tucson and then into northeastern arizona. some moderate showers tracking through show low. some of that rain spilling over into new mexico. we did have a few wind advisories out there earlier. that has since expired. but heads up. you will likely see gusty

returns, which would have allowed him to skip paying federal taxes altogether. >> the "new york times" writes this long story and then somewhere around paragraph 18 they point out there was no wrongdoing. now, people have a hard time understanding how taxes work. if donald trump hadn't taken those losses, he could have been sued by his investors. he could have been sued by his business partners. >> if you look at the way donald trump has conducted business, he crashes businesses bankruptcy, leaving scores of businesses unpaid, people really hurting with the losses his companies have suffered. but he walks away unscathed and it appears he walks away with a golden ticket that allows him under the tax code to avoid taxes for decades. >> donald trump sent out this tweet today, saying, quote, i know our complex tax laws better than anyone who has ever run for president and i am the only one,

and trump will be in prescott valley on tuesday. on the democratic side, hillary clinton spoke at a church to talk racial and social injustice. the democratic presidential nominee spoke at the little rock ame zion church in charlotte. local religious leaders invited clinton to hear from community members and their families. this comes as racial tensions are high in this area following the deadly police shooting keith scott last month. a little bit muggy out there tonight. and we're still seeing some showers across the state. we'll be enjoying more rain as we get that the workweek. i'll tell you coming up right

there was kind of a warm day yesterday, and then the rain just snuck in overnight. >> and it cooled us down. >> it sure did. >> i was singing. >> a pleasant visitor. a lot of people seem to love it. all those pictures and videos people sent to us, enjoying the rain and some pockets of it were but pretty calm out there tonight. about 72 degrees at derek sciba. the winds -- at sky harbor. certainly the winds higher. let's take a look at the rainfall totals. about .3 of an inch in chandler, .4 for goodyear and south scottsdale. one location in new river getting half an inch of rain. .6 in south phoenix and your thunderbird and 7th, .71

hours. so many cities winners in terms of the rain contest, if you will. and we're going to continue to see a little bit sticky conditions tonight making way to clearer and drier conditions. this cold front advancing through arizona. of course, we see the wind on the front site of that system. cooler air on the backside. there was a wind advisory in effect for northwestern arizona. that has expired, but we're still seeing gusty winds. upper 20s. low 30s into page and the grand canyon seeing gusts 35 miles an hour. very pleasant temperature-wise. we're seeing the temperatures stay a little bit on the warmer side because of the cloud cover that still is lingering in some pockets. prescott, you're in the low 60s at this hour. same into saint johns. 57. excuse me, sedona. warmer into places like lake havasu and yuma. douglas about 65 degrees. in the valley temperatures very nice out there.

hills and apache junction. we've dropped down to the seventh in maricopa, buckeye and goodyear, both registering 73 degrees and cave creek about 70. well below the seasonal. eight degrees below. we continued with the downward trend. 94 the average for this date. we came in 86th this afternoon. a far cry from the 107 degrees that we saw as the record back in 1980. in terms of national weather -- tracking hurricane matthew. it was downgraded from a category 5 to 4. extremely strong system here. 145-mile-an-hour winds. and this is going to have a significant impact in the caribbean. we're talking about jamaica. we're talking about cuba. haiti, though, the location is going to see most effects as a result of this hurricane. huge storm surges. we're talking about for a potential of a foot of rain or

a dog who was hit by a car and left to die is getting another chance to find a loving home, but he's not quite out of

dr. bill linnie brought this black sherman shepherd named thor to the clinic. the dog had suffered multiple infrastructures to the point that the doctor says he couldn't use his back end at all. the animal's benefit club is raising funds for the surgery. dr. linnie tells us that thor wasn't the only dog he picked up that day. >> we drove across town and picked we've been working hard to get some funs raised to get them -- funds raised to get them treated. >> if you'd like to help out, head to fox10phoenix.com. did you make it to the movies on this rainy sunday? at the box office, tim burton's was number one at the box office. in its debut this weekend.
