here in arizona. tonight, he is under fire from veterans in the valley and some across the country. yesterday in virginia, a veteran asked donald trump about holistic care from those who suffer from ptsd and traumatic brain injuries and here is what don olds trump had to say. >> when people come back from war and combat and they see things that many people in here have seen it and you are strong and can handle people can't handle it. >> i don't think he is trying to be mean. he is so completely uninformed. >> the soldier asked the question was upset it turned into a political point. trump's campaign saying they have tried to deceive voters and veterans. nicole garcia spoke to two vets

>> reporter: trump's commenteds struck a nerve and both agree that trump's remarks are ignorant and they perpetuate incorrect theories about ptsd. thomas is a double purple heart recipient. he was deployed twice and he lives with the insinuation of vets like him are weak, it can be dangerous. >> he cannot apply the level of critical thinking to a concept to really want to understand it and especially when you're talking about veterans and veterans with ptsd. that is downright dangerous.

braking has not been functioning so investigators hope to extract a second data recorder this week. one woman was killed, more than 100 people were injured. also out of new jersey, a horrific scene. by the time officials arrived, they heard a hissing sound of gas and 15 minutes later the gas triggered an explosion that leveled the two homes. several homes and cars damaged. nobody hurt, which is a miracle but five firefighters were being evaluated. wildfire burning in colorado has forced dozens of people to evacuate their homes. this fire tearing through pueblo county. it has forced 57 people from their homes. students from one elementary and middle school were forced to leave school because of the

more than 2 million more than $2 million in grant money is helping authorities in maricopa county put rapists behind. arizona has a huge backlog of untested rape kits and getting through the backlog is going to take money and manpower. courtney griffin has more on how two recent grants will help out. >> reporter: a backlog of more than 2,000 rape kits have yet to be tested in maricopa county. thanks to a large grant that can >> this is absolutely amazing for us. we are extremely proud. >> reporter: the u.s. department of justice gave the phoenix police department $1.5 million and $1.2 million to the maricopa county attorney's office to test rape kits. >> effective july 1 of 2016, the phoenix police department went to test all proceeds, every kit that comes into our possession will be tested through our crime lab.

$2 million helped his always test 600 kits. out of those tests, two people were indicted, one was a serial sex offender, the other was a known burglar. >> this confirms our suspicions that by going through this process, we'll be able to go forward intervene and stop offenses in committing sex assaults and take into account those residential burglaries. >> reporter: he sad last year's grant plus the additional grant money this year allowed them to test the 2,300 rape kits. phoenix vice mayor encourages victims to get tested to get justice. >> today is an important day and it ensures that we we leave no
