hurricane matthew has made landfall tonight near cuba. matthew remains a strong category four hurricane with and at least 11 people have died, of course, blamed on the storm as it moved across the caribbean. people in south carolina and florida sister been told to brace for >> reporter: i think this is going to be a hurricane as it comes close to the states. it is going to breeze by miami but there are areas it could hit. it could hit miami at this time. what we're seeing is it is going a little bit east of miami at this time. take a look at it. you can see it is very, very big. a huge 130-mile an hour hurricane at this time moving

today bu veterans affairs a report released by the v.a. inspector general shows that veterans are still dying while waiting for care at the phoenix v.a. health care system. the phoenix v.a. hospital was at the center of a scandal in 2014 after 35 veterans died while awaiting care and veterans were leaving them waiting up to a year for an appointment. the chairman of the veterans house committee says many of the problems still exist. delays, possibly contributed to the death of at least one veteran. john mccain and jeff flake released a statement today saying in part, this report under scores why ill it is critical for the next director

show up. 91 at yuma. looking across the country, there is snow in montana, 6-8 inches is what they are saying. it is blowing around with windy conditions. this storm system produced warnings for tornadic activity across kansas. we did see, moisture coming up forward here from the south and, of course, what the pushing it up would be matthew. here's matthew right 130 miles an hour getting close that is where it is going to come close to miami just skirted a little bit. there is when we see the problem when it gets up to the outer banks of the carolinas here and crosses over, especially if it has the power that it had through the entire episode. 85 degrees for tomorrow. lots of sunshine for you. we get back to the 90's after a couple of days in the 80's.
