good amping. thank you for joining us. we beimine with a weather alert out of the thousands of people are on the move heading inland before hurricane matthew comes ashore. >> some are saying it is the strongest storm to hit the state in more than a decade. a state of emergency has been prompted in florida, georgia, and the carolinas. people are stocking up on gasoline. people are boarding up their beach hopes.

officials are ordering evacuations along the coastline. hurricane matthew is a category three storm with sustained winds of 120 miles an hour. it is expected to be near the atlantic coast by tomorrow. 11 deaths have been blamed on this vicious storm. mandatory evacuations under way in florida. airlines are preparing to suspend through georgia and north and south carolina. president obama this morning urged people to follow orders from local officials as well. >> everybody needs to be paying attention and following the instructions of your local officials. if you get an evacuation order, just remember you can rebuild. you can always repair property.

superstorm sandy in 2012, matthew could be the first major hurricane to blow across the us after wilma in 2005. this is the eastern most tip of cuba. debris is strewn everywhere. dozens of homes are destroyed. fortunately, 35,000 coastal to look at where the storm is now, we go to kristy siefkin. >> reporter: the impact of the storm not just on cuba, haiti, bahamas but florida and the mid-atlantic coastline as well. want to start you out by showing you the track of the storm. matthew, as you mentioned, has winds, 120 miles an hour. it is moving very slowly, which is not good news in terms of the

totals. as we look at the entire track of matthew, you will notice it is a category three hurricane right now. as it passes north of the bahamas, there is no land in sight and because of that and the warm water, this is going to increase in strength to a category four hurricane and that is when we see it advance to the florida coastline. take a look at this. the intensity of the rain as it makes its way toward melbo going to see the heaviest rainfall amounts. even as the system advances through florida up into parts of georgia and the carolinas, heavy rainfall expected as well. here is a look at the rainfall totals as we go through thursday evening into the weekend this is saturday early morning hours not into sunday yet. we're looking at 10-plus inches of rain, particularly along the

trial begins today in tucson... for a former tucson trial begins today in trial begins in tucson for a former tucson fire captain david watson is accused of killing his ex-wife in 2000 and dodging her body in the desert. he is also accused of killing his wife's mother and a friend of hers. the tucson fire department says it was never notified that watson was under investigation. while police spent years investigating the crime, he rose through the tucson fire department ranks.

night at van buren. van buren was shut down for several hours but reopened in time for the morning drive. they believe the driver did not see the man in time. there was no indication that he was drunk or on drugs and he stopped right away. a super hero funeral for a jacob hall. super heros he was dressed in his batman costume at the viewing. a 9-year-old boy in michigan says he was attacked by a clown with a knife. justin says he was climbing a tree near his home. he says when he was coming down, a clown sliced his arm with the knife and ran away. >> really saw a guy come after you with a clown outfit on

e. cheese, sometimes it is hard to keep the kids under control. it was the parents who were the problem at this one in miami. caught on camera, a big brawl breaks out. at least a dozen adults are in this melee going nuts wailing on each other. we're told the fighting started because one adult was looking at another adult. they confronted each other and the various family members got involved. said they were throwing punches for a good, maybe 10 minutes or so while the kids were crying and trying to run away from the out of control moms and dads. the police had to be brought in to get the parents under control. >> good afternoon, everyone. light winds here. 85 degrees at this hour.

cuba, into the bahamas later today, it was lessened to a three and after today it is expected to pick up momentum and increase to a category four storm as it cruises towards florida and georgia and into the caro lie unanimous. a lot of evacuations are taking place off of the coasts as well. we're watching that closely today. forecasted highs today. 74 in page. 64 at the grand c around colorado, it is going to be nice. bullhead city, 87. lake havasu, 89. casa grande, 87 degrees. this is the time of year where folks love to come to arizona. love the patios out in the morning and the evening. 47 in the page for the low tonight. grand canyon, 26 degrees. 40 in show low tonight.
