of inspector general providing information about delayed care and increased suicides among valley veterans. >> i made those allegations last year to the o.i.g. yesterday they confirmed all of my allegations that i made. to me i feel vindicated. >> a scathing inspector general's report released yesterday showed 215 veterans died while waiting for care at the phoenix v.a. and that one of those vets may still be alive had he received the care he was waiting for. as of in arizona were still waiting for treatment. rodriquez says he came forward because he wants to help his fellow veterans. for the past year, he has been asking his bosses to hire 39 schedulers so he can get more vets in for appointments. he still waiting for that help. >> each scheduler can schedule between 10 and 15,000 appointments a year. you multiply that times 39, that

indinous peoples day. >> the vote is symbolic as columbus day is not observed in the city of phoenix. but local events are expected marking indigenous people's day. >> i'm steve krafft. new information tonight about that brawl that broke out during the donald trump rally yesterday in prescott valley. police tell fox 10 a young man seen getting grabbed by the throat while punches are thrown as he got escorted out event had been with his dad at the rally. officers say the two caused a ruckus. the father was kicked out. and then police say his son punched a woman in the face. that's when he was grabbed by the throat and taken out of the venue. the father and son arrested on counts of disorderly conduct and trespassing. the other men involved were not taken into custody. >> police arrested two other people who were asked to leave for trespassing but then later returned.

20,000 people attended the event as well as nearly 50 protesters. steve krafft, "fox 10 news." a two-year-old from mesa is rushed to the hospital after falling from a second story window. this happened this morning in an apartment complex near main street and horn. seen this happen before? the boy climbed on to a table and leaned up against a window screen and the window was open and the screen gave way. that boy fell about 20 feet to the ground and is now listed in serious condition but we are told that he is survive his injuries. police say an adult was in the apartment at the time but right now there is no indication of any wrong doing. a north phoenix mother is facing charges of child abuse after police say she barricaded her daughter in her apartment and then left to commit a crime while she was on heroin. police say page adams was arrested for shoplifting last week. when officers asked her if she had any children and she said yes but the child was with a friend. later officers say adam's grandmer called police and says

officers when to the apartment near 16th street and bell road and that is indeed where they found the three-year-old girl. she was barricaded in a closet and was wearing a dirty diaper. we spoke to neighbors at the complex today and here is what they had to say. >> these things that happen at a young age to an individual they don't go away. and quite frankly that child ought to be taken away and put in child protective services until this mother, you know, atones. >> an officer ss asked her why she left her three-year-old home alone, she didn't think she would be gone that long. peoria police releasing a sketch of a man they say tried to sexually assault a woman last week. here is a look at that sketch. this happened a week ago in a housing development that's under construction. we told you about this at 99th avenue and jomax. the police say the victim was working on one of the homes when the suspect attacked her if you think you may recognize the man in this sketch or have any information, you are asked to

guilty of first-degree murder for shooting and keu8ing his uncle. back in 2014, 21-year-old manuel pacheco killed 54-year-old david pacheco chavez in broad daylight in front of witnesses at the phoenix car wash where the victim worked. the defense argued for a manslaughter charge saying the shootin happened soon after pacheco was told the victim molested another relative. prosecutors say pacheco thought about killing the victim for weeks before the shooting hurricane matthew a category 4 storm and we cannot take it lightly. it's deadly. approaching florida with potentially devastating winds. every forecast continues to put florida in harm's way. p if matthew impacts florida there will be massive >> and the dire warning there from florida governor rick scott speaking about the hurricane. hurricane matthew. the powerful and deadly storm is getting closer to that state and

nearly a dozen death is a cross the caribbean. tonight large scale evacuations are under way along the east coast and florida could face its largest evacuation ever. fox's fill keating has more tonight. evacuation orders are now in effect throughout much of coastal florida and south carolina. as officials await the arrival of hurricane matthew the strongest eastern hurricane we have seen in years. the storm at one point a category 5 tore through haiti, cuba and the bahamas it's taking aim right at florida. >> there is a greater than 70% probability that we will have tropical storm force winds here in miami/dade county tomorrow. there is a one in four chance we will actually have hurricane force winds. >> a new track has matthew curving east as it moves north. people are battening down the hatches along the south carolina coast. but in north carolina, the biggest worry is flooding with

from recent storms in many areas. >> there is still an opportunity for some serious rain of five to ten inches in certain areas of the state and that's the last thing we need. >> meanwhile, president obama is meeting with officials from fema and other groups getting a first hand briefing on how they plan to manage the storm's aftermath. the president pleading with residents to pay attention to evacuation orders before it's too late. >> if you get an evacuation order, just remember, that you can always r you can always repair property. you cannot restore a life if it is lost. >> it's expected to hit as a major hurricane somewhere in florida, late thursday night and early friday morning. likely a category 4. in jupiter, florida. fox news. if you booked travel to the east coast or expecting visitors from there, flights may, affected due to the hurricane zone. and already several airlines have canceled flights for tomorrow and friday.

if you booked the travel check with the airlines and hotels. if your trip is affected to see the options you might have and change your plan entirely. dave munsey is tracking the hurricane for us tonight as it creeps closer to the east coast and he joins us live with a look at the storm's projected path. >> it has lost just a little bit of strength over the last couple of hours here. it is a category 3 storm with winds at 115 miles per hour. and as you can see here storm system is going to pack a lot of moisture with it as it travels up the coast line. the storm surge is expected to be 3 to five feet and the rain anywhere from 8 to 15 inches in some areas and then take a look at that track. all the way through saturday, that's all the way through the south carolina and the north carolina coast. even though the track of that hurricane is off to the east at about the time it gets there.

of rain and the storm surge in the coastal areas is going to be devastating in some areas maybe in those outer islands. we will take a closer look at what's going on in your weather and across the country coming up. okay, we will see glue few minutes. the arizona democratic party today endorsed prop 205. the measure to regulate marijuana like alcohol in our states. and congressman joins ruben gallego and other current and former lawmakers who support that initiative in a statement marijuana like alcohol will enhance public safety, promote social justice and improve our education system by raising much needed revenue for schools. arizonans for responsible drug policy opposed to prop 205 say a number of health care leaders and providers in our state have come out against the measure. that campaign says it's concerned that young people will get ahold of marijuana and there is an increase use of children -- or increase in children hospitalized in colorado after ingesting

details about a public celebration of life for arizona's first woman governor are now announced. the orpheum theater in downtown phoenix will hold a special service at the end of the month. governor rose mofford died last month. the memorial will begin on october 30 at 1:30 in the afternoon and doors will open an hour earlier. 250e67ers and students at a valley elementary school honor a special education teacher who was killed in a car crash last month. asia calhoun were driving outside of parker when another

80 in apache junction. 86 in chandler. another 86 for you in glendale. high pressure in control not only of the southwest but pretty much in control of the west here. these are the sustained winds. they are going down a little bit here as the sun is going down. these are the wind gusts out there. 22 miles per hour up in show low. and in globe 18 miles per hour. pretty good winds in the show low area as well. dew point temperatures are all coming down all across the sta here. just a few weeks ago these were in the 60s and 70s. sho you can see the moisture certainly taking a hike there 90 degrees for the high today. we had 88 degrees at goodyear. 86 degrees in scottsdale. in chandler it was 88 degrees. and sedona 73. in flagstaff 61, we had 90 degrees in yuma. and 84 degrees over in safford. this is your day. 90 on the high. 63 on the low.

record high 104. record low at 46. here is what we are forecasting as you can see here upper 80s. some almost near 90-degrees at 89 degrees and a couple of different places. looking across the country this is a real mix bag of trouble here. you got rain and snow and freezing rain. now flooding and windy conditions. some showers in oklahoma. you can see that storm system moving out of here. croilgt 3 hurricane -- category 115 miles per hour. and you can see the track that it's going to take. taking a little curve here when it gets into the carolinas. and 63 over night. 87 degrees for tomorrow. we will mix a few clouds in there and we will mix a few 90s in there as well. they don't get terribly out of hanged. that is one degree above the seasonal norm for this time of year. watch your kids around water. as you know by now, carson
