a mother went and got high on heroin and left her 3-year-old daughter home alone. she told police her 3-year-old daughter was with a friend but after a tip, officers went to an apartment and they found a 3-year-old girl barricaded in a closet with a dirty diaper. mom told them she left the child home alone because she didn't think she would be gone long. tears to my eyes because that poor child because these things that happen at a young age and they don't go away. that child ought to be taken away and put in child protective services until the mother atones. >> that was a neighbor who reacted to the arrest.
