news alert tonight. it has sent four people to the hospital. you can see from skyfox it is a terrible crash here, those cars are mangled. we understand that a firefighter had to cut four patients from that car using the jaws of life. they are all in critical condition. two of those patients we are told, teenage girls. crews say the driver of the truck did stay on scene and is in police custody. they do tell us that impairment is suspected in the crash. the intersection is clod right now and will be for several more hours. it is not clear what led to the crash, if someone ran a red light. police are on the scene investigating. we will keep you updated as we learn more on this. thanks for being with us tonight for fox 10 news at 10:00. you may have heard samsung is discontinuing and recalling its galaxy note 7 phones that are known to catch fire and explode, and in an unprecedented move, starting tomorrow the phones

airplanes. stefania okolie is live at the airport. >> reporter: who would have thought that one day a certain type of cell phone would be banned from an airplane? now the government says that they have had it. they are not taking any chances with these potentially explosive galaxy note 7s, especially since the recalled phones and the replacement ones were still causing problems for those owner. now, starting tomorrow people who still have that galaxy note 7, if somewhere here in the u.s., you are going to have some issues. we all know that we are addicted and glued to our phones but starting tomorrow you won't be able to bring them anywhere near the airplane. it's burned more than a dozen people across the nation, nearly a hundred have overheated, some causing some intense property damage. tuesday the south korean manufacturer decided to stop all sales of the galaxy note 7 permanently for consumer safety.

transportation and the f.a.a. say they want them off all planes permanently as well. passengers think that's a good idea. >> yeah, that seems fair, yeah. it's just, yeah, absolutely, yeah, no, you cannot travel with this. >> taylor has a galaxy edge. when she heard the news, there was a bit of concern. >> she was just like, oh, my gosh, there's a recall. is this your phone? like it's not safe, you travel so much. and i was just like, okay, let me look, and i looked it up, and i was like, no, mom, i'm good thanks. >> reporter: today we learned board with it. they can't put it on carry-ons or checked baggage. officials say it is too dangerous. they say, quote, we recognize that banning these phones from some airlines will inconvenience passengers but the safety of all of those on board and safety must take precedence. >> they are just saying that you can't have them anymore, and if you do have them, make sure they are completely turned off and

>> yeah, so it's important to remember that if you bring this phone to the airport, starting tomorrow, they have the right to deny you boarding on to that plane. now, if you're caught with the phone, you could face consequences. we are talking hefty fines, even going as far as to prosecution. we are learning more tonight about a woman officers say tried to kill transport van while in in custody. that woman was taken into custody last night after police say she tried to stab her ex-husband and then slammed her arm on an officer's arm. she made a noose out of one of her shoelaces, tied the other to a vent and then tried to hang herself. police did not find the woman until after a 30-minute drive

phoenix. >> it affects the officers that approach, the ones that arrive, the ones that actually discovered her and tried their best to implement those lifesaving measures. we are thoroughly investigating if there's anything else that we might learn or need to do definitely. >> we are told that the woman is in critical condition at the hospital. the family says that they do not expect her to survive. the ex-husband believes she was suicidal and he does plan to take legal action. earlier this month, seven construction workers were installing trusses at the heart cry church. that is near the hunt highway. the structure collapsed and those workers fell about 16 feet. this accident was just one of eight alleged violations that caused the heart contracting

suspension set for october 24th. quite a few people upset after they get word that glendale consignment store suddenly closed. many say that they haven't been able to get their belongings back. the owner of the shop near arrowhead mall did not renew a release and the store is closing on monday. today an employee opened the store so people could go this and get their belongings. >> people were wanting to get their thin, goodness of my heart i decided to come down to the store and open it so people could get things. i no longer have a job, no. i don't know what's going to happen from here on out. >> we were not able to get hold of the owner. the store will be open 10:00 to 2:00 tomorrow so people can get their stuff. this weekend, cannabis boot camp at the phoenix convention

tonight one couple got more than a scare. they got engaged. fox 10's danielle miller is live with the story yaefrnl. >> for one valley man, heb he said it was the perfect opportunity to propose for his girlfriend, especially since he says it was their two-year anniversary. it's that time of year again, hundreds of people making their way to haunted houses to be spooked by the goons goblins. for one couple, this spook will be one to remember. he decided to propose to his girlfriend, brianna nye, at the 13th floor haunted house where he used to work. >> she's into spooky stuff, not getting scared. i'm into both. >> the stage was set at the haunted graveyard where the

live from fox studios, fox 10 news is back. a valley man who battled leukemia meets the man who helped save his life for the first time. timothy gonzalez was 19 years old when he received the he received stem cells from eric grasse who lives in new york. rules state that you can ask to meet your donor a year after the donation is made. today the two men saw each other face-to-face at an annual celebration of life, which emphasize the importance of bone marrow donation. >> i wanted to donate no matter what, and when i found out that he was my age, it just put everything into perspective, because i just pictured someone my age, instead of worrying about getting to class on time
