fox 10 news alert. we take you back out to ontario, california, southern california where a massive recycleing center, which is next to the airport there has caught fire. look at that thick, black smoke. >> you can see this, obviously, for miles around. as you mentioned, the airport is across the street so this is probably affecting air travel. you can see fire crews just across the railroad tracks from the recycling plant. in fact, some of the brush behind these homes have probably caught fire probably from embers sparking the fires as well.

fire at the plan. >> the plume of smoke can be seen all over the southern california area. they have a lot of crews on the scene here. they are trying to prevent it from spreading but they got their work cut out for them. you see the heat and flames picking up. we're covering this nonstop on fox 10 news now. you can find that on our facebook page o fox10phoenix.com. a giant barbecue ripped off, stolen in front of a home. victims are devastated because the barbecue is not just for their own weekend cookouts but part of their family business. dan danielle miller is live with the story. >> reporter: this barbecue smoker was stolen from this laveen neighborhood near 51st avenue and baseline on

here. it captured the suspect leaving the neighborhood with the barbecue smoker behind it. >> why do you take something that you know isn't yours? that does not make sense. reporter: this video hard to look at for darryl cox. he says this man that you see in the dark-colored f-150 ford truck is taking off with his smoker and trailer. this man took driveway sunday night between 6:30 and 10:00. >> i normally keep it in the garage. we had it out there doing some cleaning on it and getting it ready for the next event than we store it in the garage. my plan was to put it in the garage in the next day or two. this smoker isn't just a smoker, it is the life blood of the d.c.'s smoking barbecue.

trailer, it will be around $4,000. although this theft is possibly setting the business back for several months, cox says what hurts the most is his wife and two young daughters were inside the home during the entire thing. >> if someone is that bold to come up to your house, your property, it sends shock waves flu your -- through your gut. as far as the business is concerned, yes, we plan out months in advance. right now events coming up. we have barbecue competitions coming up. it puts us in limbo so we have to scatter to see what we can do. >> reporter: cox says there was a lock on the trailer so whoever did this, had to break the lock to steal the entire thing. as you can imagine, $4,000 is an extremely -- that is a big expense for a small business

to replace the barbecue grill and trailer. cox is asking anyone about this information about this theft to call police. danielle miller, fox 10 news. >> hopefully, they will catch that person quickly. police are searching for one of the drivers who they believe hit and killed a man crossing the street in phoenix. investigators believe the man was hit by two different cars. the first driver took off and has not been seen the second driver did stay at the scene. check out this video from sky fox. a garage destroyed after a fire near el mirage and cactus roads. firefighters had to break through the garage door to get to the fire. they had to cut holes in the roof to vent the heat and the smoke. fortunately, the good news here is nobody was hurt. not known how the fire started. if you have been at sky harbor airport lately, you know

undergoing major renovations. it has been under construction for years now. here is terminal four, the major terminal. this is terminal two as you head in and this is terminal three where the work is currently going on. anita roman got a sneak look inside today. >> reporter: work began in early 2015 said to be complete in 2020. crews are on schedule completing the first phase of terminal three modernization project. out with the old, in with the new, the first phase of the modernization page is complete. there is an outdoor desert oasis, dog park, inside, 30 tech-friendly ticket counters for user friendly check-in

who wore the red sweater. naturally, the maker of the sweater has made a commercial that encourages people to get out and vote and it takes a look at his closet and reveals it is full of red sweaters. two firefighters are hurt after a massive fire breaks out in the southwestern section of chicago today. it doesn fire but that is all the smoke. massive area of smoke. when we back out, you see the fire better. flames are erupting at the tire shop. this is the trend with the fire in california. again, this is chicago. the fire spreading to a muffler business. 200 firefighters had to work on this, 25 fire engines responding.

first tonight at six at first tonight at 6:00, firefighters continue to battle the massive fire at the recycling plant in southern california. here is a live look from ontario, california. you can see the fire continues to rage right now. pallets and trucks went up in flames and homes nearby have been damaged from embers flying across and sparking fires in neighborhoods. traffic in that area is backed there is thick, black smoke that could be seen for miles. we're keeping an eye on this and we'll break into the newscast as we get more information from ontario, california. a woman ran over her boyfriend and a man he was fighting with. this happened last night at a circle k and the woman was intoxicated and she is facing a number of counts, including

video from sky fox. over a dozen police cars aided by firefighters, paramedics, scrambling to save robert krumlauf. police believe he got into a road rage argument with another man last night. they stopped that the circle k and got into a fight. the man hit krumlauf with an airsoft rifle. the man's girlfriend, jenna keller ran over both of them with their car, out and started punching krumlauf. he died in the hospital. people understand how tempers flare when you're driving on the road but can't understood why it turned so violent. >> people bet upset but for people to innocently do that is outrageous.
