were hurt in all of this. here is a look at our fox 10 ground crew that we sent to the scene. a crash created a serious backup in the southbound lanes. we spoke to someone earlier whose friend was involved in the crash. >> she looked in her rearview and saw the semi coming and went for the left side of the road and the semi hit the right rear corner of the vehicle. she said it was like he had no brakes at he just drove down the center line hitting everybody. >> crews say it will take several hours to clear the backup. thankfully, none of the animals you were hurt in this incident. we have another news alert this one involving a man in the west valley. police say he set up a date online an wound up being shot with a shotgun.

near 75th avenue and mcdowell that is where marcy jones is live with the details of this story. marcy? >> reporter: well, kristy and linda, it has cleared up now. we got the all clear. we're at 75th avenue and mcdowell. there is still one little section caution taped off. we have a police unite out -- it was fluid and moving and active. phoenix police does suspects in custody. the male victim at the time was at the apartment complex to meet a female he met for a date. when he arrived, two male suspects shot him with a shotgun. it was possibly his neck that was grazed and the victim has nonlife-threatening injuries and he is going to be ok. police tell us the next step is to interview the two people they

are the guys they are looking for and if they are, they will possibly be booked tonight. marcy jones, fox 10 news. on to a developing story in the far west valley. a shooting in buckeye near 312 avenue and camelback. take a look at the scenes. this is what was unfolding when our crews got there. not clear if an actual wedding was happening at the time of the it appeared to be a wedding have venue set up. just married painted on thing back window and something formal set up like it was going to happen or had happened. maricopa county deputies confirmed they are investigating a shooting. one person was taken to the hospital. it is not clear how bad their injuries were.

a fox 10 news update on a deadly crash we told you about yesterday. we're seeing the man who is accused of causing the wreck. phoenix police believe that 26-year-old randall nelson was impaired as he sped through the red light and bushed a car into a semi. one woman was in the car and she is now dead. the truck driver suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash. a 3-year-old girl rushed to the hospital after a dresser falls on top of her in her home in surprise. now, this happened earlier this morning near grand avenue in one of the bedrooms inside of the home. police say the girl fell and somehow the dresser landed on top of her. when crews arrived, the girl was unconscious. the family was performing c.p.r police are trying to piece together what happened.

we're hoping to get down to the bottom of it quickly and find out what caused this child to be hurt. >> that little girl is in critical condition tonight. family and friends trying to raise money today for the funerals of two young girls who police say were killed by their own father. you might remember this one when it first happened, the double murder suicide. now, these people, these friends and family gathered at manny's mexican grill in they washed hundreds of cars trying to raise money. last week, a 36-year-old shot and killed his daughters before taking his own life. these little girls were just 4 and 5 years old. >> i got 100 cars that haven't stopped coming since 8:00 this morning. happy to see everybody here sticking together.

what a tragedy as 13 people are dead, 30 others are hurt in this crash involving a tour bus and a semi truck in california. it was a head-on collision that happened near palm springs. the bus is operated by los angeles tour company u.s. holiday. investigators say the bus driver did not survive. still not clear if drugs, alcohol, or maybe fatigue played a part in this crash. >> all passengers are believed to be adults. identities are unknown due to the swift extraction and immediate triage care they needed. >> the crash still under investigation this afternoon.

stray showers in eastern arizona. we're going to watch as this system in the pacific northwest will influence our forecast as is the push for tropical moisture. we're going to see the dew points increasing just like you saw and the map earlier and that means a chance of showers for us in arizona. the first thing you will notice is an increase in cloud cover blanketing the entire state. we also see with this particular model a few cells northern arizona. as we turn the clock forward monday into tuesday, you will see that the valley didn't look like we were getting much of anything. it doesn't mean we won't see a stray shower or two out there. 970's in many locations. 94 in yuma. 91 in lake havasu. gila bend, 96. cooler in places like globe at 84. 79 for sedona. 75 for st. johns. 82 for douglas. here in the valley, a quick look

90's from fountain hills and apache junction. 91 right now for wickenburg and buckeye. 92 up into cave creek. if it felt toasty to you today, we were 10 degrees above the seasonal norm. normally at 86 degrees. today, coming in at 96. had we warmed up four degrees more, we would have tied the record of 100 degrees that we set in 2003. quiet but that is not the case for the northeast in the past couple of days. area of low pressure through canada and what we saw in this section of the country. we saw half a foot of snow in some locations in the ad ron daks. take a look at the numbers across the country. mild throughout parts of the midwest and south. expect highs in boston and new york in the 50's.

in world news-- more in world news, more than 100 inmates in haiti overpowered guards and escaped from their according to a judge, this prison break happened 30 miles north of the capital. one guard was kill and several others were hurt. the escaped prisoners stole several weapons and exchanged gunfire with police. the breakout hand when the inmates were released from a cramped area so they could bathe. not clear how many escapees were convicted of serious crimes.

tensions in the region, ash carter is in northern iraq. >> he is there to get a closer look as troops fight to take the city of mosul from the islamic state. >> reporter: iraq question and kurdish troops move closer to mosul. kurdish forces say they captured a town eight miles outside of mosul. its liberation remes obstacle for iraqi forces. as they advance, they face fierce fighting and finding many road and buildings laced with bombs. at least 25 kurdish fighters have been killed since the fighting began one week ago. today, u.s. secretary of defense ash carter visited iraq to assess the progress of the operation. stressing this battle to free mosul will take time, u.s. officials say so far iraqi forces with the help of u.s.
