dresser to the wall properly. that's where fox 10's danielle miller is live now with more tonight. danielle? >> mark, according to anchorit.gov, every 24 minutes tipped furniture sends a child to the emergency room, and on average every two weeks one child will die after a tv or some type of large furniture falls on him or her. we spoke to experts here at phoenix children's hospital, and they are telling best defense is anchoring furniture to the wall. a sad update, a three-year-old died after a dresser fell on her in her surprise home on sunday. >> it's sad. it's scary. it can happen anytime. one minute you can be fine, and the next minute your child is gone. >> it's sad, tragic, how with her a dresser fell on her, and with accidents, you never know

happen, but it's sad when it does. >> police say the little girl was climbing on the dresser. experts with phoenix children's hospital say unfortunately this happens, saying a parent's best defense is anchoring any type of dresser or furniture to the wall. parents should get down to a child's level to see what they can see. >> that's when you can see what's up there that may be attractive for me to pull down, for example, if you have a large or tall piece of furniture and there's a big fluffy teddy bear on top and i want that teddy bear, how can i get it? start pulling out drawers one by one to build a stairway to get up to the teddy bear. >> police are telling us at this time it appears to be a tragic accident and at this time no charges will be filed. reporting live, danielle miller, fox 10 news.

now it's this time of year where the holidays, a lot of people are going to be staying in other people's home. what should you do if you're staying with someone else or your kids are going to be staying with them? should you go check yourself to make sure this doesn't happen? what's the advice? >> yeah, baker here with phoenix children's hospital said, you know, if obviously a lot of people are going to be traveling to grandma's house and aunts and uncles and things like that, and they may not have the same safety precautions put in place. she's telling me if there aren't safetyre keep shut bedroom doors or anything like that, and if the child needs to be in that area for any reason to keep a close eye. >> all right, danielle, thank you, good advice tonight. the wild horses along salt river are protected animals, until now, maricopa county sheriff's deputies searching for te person who shot some of those horses. deputies found a dead foal with some gunshot wounds over the weekend after witnesses reported seeing a person shooting at three horses on friday. the person shooting at the

shotgun was last green shirt. >> shot in the lungs and heart and head as well. >> the sheriff's office says it believes two other horses may be injured or dead. a murder investigation is underway after a car crashes into the wall of a phoenix home. police say the driver and the passenger of that car both had seve they may have been murdered before the crash near 31st avenue and van buren. both of those victims appear to be hispanic males in their 20s. police at this point have no suspects or witnesses in this case. a former employee at n.a.u. in flagstaff in some serious legal trouble tonight after he is accused of stealing $350,000 from the school. edwin tally was the postal services manager for the university. investigators say for more than

made card payments to two fake vendors that he created, and part of that money came from students' tuition and fees. he is facing a number of felony charges. a hearing to decide the future of a polygamist community on the arizona-utah border, a federal trust wants the court to appoint someone to oversee the local governments and police departments in colorado city, arizona, and in hilldale, utah. earlier this year, a judge found that nonbelievers of that polygamist st police protection, building permits and water hookups in the town. bastian pleads not guilty to terrorism charges in court, the florence woman accused of making bomb materials and instructions to an inmate in state prison in what prosecutors are saying was part of a plot to kill a warden. her husband is serving a life

governor ducey ordering the state's medicaid program to limit prescribing of narcotic painkillers, signing an order to limit the initial prescription of opioid drugs to a seven-day supply for patients. insurance plans on the health care exchange will go up by an average of 25%. >> every case, your coverage will go down, said your coverage will get better and you can keep your doctor. >> several major health companies have now dropped out of the exchange, and only pima county has more than one insurer offering coverage on the exchange. donald trump received a $17 million insurance payment for hurricane damage to his house, but the associated press

live from fox studios, fox 10 news is back. well, goodyear firefighters had a brush fire on their hands tonight, skyfox over those flames near chandler heights. this was burning in a rural area, so no homes were threatened and it only scorched about an acre before fire crews were able to put that out. good news, dave, too, just some very light winds out there tonight, so it didn't really help that thing spread too much. >> maybe a little bit of rain out there but there's a lot of lightning out there too. a lot going on as far as the weather is concerned. let take a look at what we have here, the city looking pretty

rain around right now, 82 degrees, the winds out of the west southwest at about seven miles an hour at the present time. let's take a look at those numbers, 75 right now in cave creek, 80 at deer valley, 78 at fountain hills, 81 in chandler, in surprise it's 78 degrees right now as well. now a little system coming into the northwest up here, high pressure will protect us. although the grasp of that low has got a little bit of moisture going around the west here, and as we get a look at can see the west side from the south, but a lot of that stuff is starting to fall apart as it gets a little closer to the city. you can see the stuff on the east side. it's just going to pass us right on by. a little bit out in mesa, we'll get another look at that. we get a look over here on the west side, though, and you can see a pretty good storm coming, and then it just kind of falls apart. lots right here, lots right here, and then it just, right, falls apart. not up north, though. it's still holding together a

see, pretty strong up by williams, and the flagstaff area, you'll see it come flying into this area and continuing to come in. now we get down here and take a look at the valley. so you see a little bit of moisture here near the guadalupe area. on the east side we see a little bit of moisture staying especially out in the far east valley. some pretty good showers and storms out there continuing. but look how rapidly this stuff moves out of here, out of here by tu anything left at all on that futurecast. there's your high on the day today, as we get to 90 degrees. we have got a few 90s on the west side that agree with that, and then a few 80s lying up to the north and to the west of us. as far as the mountains, 65 in flagstaff. we have some 70s and 80s around that, mostly 90s down on the desert floor. this is your day, 90 on the high, 72 on the low, 85 and 62 normal high and low.

your record low at 41. forecasting for tomorrow in the upper 80s and looking at those temperatures in the mountains hanging in there as well. across the country, there is some moisture, a little bit of snow in the northeast. overnight here, 69, 89 for tomorrow, and we have a few 90s to deal with as we start heading toward the weekend, and 96 on thursday. that's halloween at 83. watch your kids around water. all right, dave, thank you. well, a lot of people are heading back east for the world series, and we talked to some of those travelers at sky harbor airport, including one man whose father played for the cubs back in the 1980s. >> he passed like a year and a half ago, so i figured if they -- this would be the one chance, like i would have to go for sure, absolutely. he played for a lot of teams, and he never talked about the other teams the way he talked

see him holding down both guards right there, pushing them down so wagner can jump over. that should be a flag, right? holding, they rarely call it. they just don't go there. that allowed wagner to get in there to clean block the field goal. here's the fourth and 1 call in the third quarter where you might say, do you take the field goal. that question was posted to bruce arians. of course they did not convert on that. it would have been a 28-yard field goal that would have been maybe a chip shot. maybe you don't have confidence in your kicker after that block. but this is bruce's response to that fourth and 1 earlier today. >> not really, i would still go for the fourth and 1. that game, with them, a lot of time is about imposing your will, and i thought that was a time that we should have done it, and we should have made the first down. you know, we got a little too aggressive. >> the defense played great.
