the d-backs offseason, paul goldschmidt and wife amy set to go boling november 10th with the hope of stepping up for kids in the fight against cancer. >> you know, we've put a lot of time into this and we want to make it a great event. so to do something thal hoped make a big impact and raise a lot of awareness and hopefully a lot of money, to do that with somebody and spend a lot more time with him. it gave us an excuse to get together and have some lunch meetings and a strong passion of both of ours, especially now having a kid, i think it means even more to us now. so it's definitely a lot of fun. >> i hope we'll have fun and raise awareness for the needs at phoenix children's hospital. you see the hospital there and it's nice but you don't realized they're getting overcrowded and they need this new cancer center. so whether people donate, you know, to this event or other

i was really upset. i'm leaving and my wife jan and i are flying home and i couldn't get over how awful i thought our town looked. it was dark. the people are afraid of each other, which i never experienced. it was a tightly-knit opportunity and nobody was having any fun. so we're on the plane. i said i got to do something. so when i got back i called my cousin elaine and bob curry. and we talked about what can be done. we started out with a thought my wife actually named it the hazelton integration project. and then eventually we got the% community center, yogi and zim were in the first banquet. raised some dough. we're partnering with the ripken foundation, giant food markets, amazon, cargo meat packing. temple university, penn state university. there's a lot going on back there. and now i'm trying to do all kinds of creative things to raise money to keep the doors open. >> and speaking of temple

system at the time of his death. the two-time all-star died along with two friends when a boat crashed into a jetty last month and the report said that fernandez had nearly twice the legal blood-alcohol content level. baseball commissioner rob manford said the toxicology report wasn't official. he refused to comment before the world series. you decide if republican presidential nominee donald trump makes his stop in arizona today. he spoke to a large and raucous crowd at the phoenix convention center downtown. a lot of people holding signs saying, make america great again, and, women for trump. the republican nominee addressed a number of issues, including border security. he talked about repealing obamacare. he talked about those rising premium costs that many arizonans are now facing.

rival hillary clinton over the f.b.i.'s latest reinvestigation into emails that were discovered when they were looking at anthony weiner. he was accused of texting a teenage girl. those emails may pertain to clinton's use of a private server. >> as you've heard, it was just announced yesterday that the f.b.i. is re-opening their investigation into the criminal conduct and the illegal conduct of hillary clinton. this is the biggest political scandal since watergate. and it's everybody's deepest hope that justice at last will be beautifully delivered. >> now, several republicans spoke before donald trump took the stage, including the chairman of the arizona republican party.

we look off the coastline, you'll see some of that activity throughout the pacific northwest. a steady stream of cloud cover through california, utah, and nevada. even with this low off the coastline, it's a different story for us. this area of high pressure throughout the south bringing very warm weather as this low moves in inland, we're going to see a little bit cooling. at least getting the numbers back into the 80s where they belong. numbers are 69 in page. 62 for prescott. 84 for lake havasu. and yuma 66 for nogales and 67 globe. in the valley we're cooling down nicely. 77 surprises. 76 in fountain hills. a couple degrees into apache function. a new record set today as we topped out at 96 degrees. normal for today is 83. so well above that seasonal norm. and although we're going to get cooler, we're still going to see warm temperatures. you probably don't need the sweater for the kids. if you're going out on the

getting into dinnertime, mimid 80s. overnight hours into the 70s. quick look at the national picture. plenty of rain through the pacific northwest. we set a record for the month of october with over nine inches of rain in seattle. snow through parts of the sierra. but the rest of the south, it is very warm. and it's part of that dome of high pressure i mentioned earlier. so numbers in the 80s in places like texas, all the way into tennessee and also through parts of mississippi. for lake havasu. 61 into kingman, 43 st. johns. 39 for flagstaff. then tomorrow 93 degrees expected for casa grande. 80 for sedona. 81 winslow and 89 degrees for safford. tonight a little bit of cloud cover out there as we see one of those systems brushing to the north of us. nussments continue to be -- numbers continue to be above average tomorrow. we get a break. temperatures cooling down into

a talk about a frightening ordeal for passengers and crew aboard this american airlines flight as it left chicago yesterday. an engine exploded on that plane and in the panic to get off the burning plane, 21 people were injured, none seriously. >> amazing that no seriously hurt. fox news reporter brian yenis has more on this story. >> reporter: american airlines flight 383 carrying 170 people, crew, and a dog was taking off on the runway in chicago o'haver yesterday afternoon when suddenly the right engine bloop. a massive fireball erupting. luckily pilots aborted the take off already lifting off to miami. the fire melting part of the right wing, cracking and melting passenger windows.

767 experienced a rare uncontained engine failure, interviewing engine parts into the air a. passenger on board recording as they evacuated the plane on the emergency chutes. [yelling] >> we can't go! [yelling] >> holy [bleep]. >> oh, my foot. oh. oh. oh my god. >> the 767 was loaded with 43,000 pounds of fuel and it was leaking. 20 passengers and a flight attendant experienced minor injuries as they slid down those emergency chutes. passengers hurrying away from the aircraft. of course, fearful of the potential explosion. >> i was seated in the middle action of the plane. we started to take off.

right -- seemed like the right side engine blew. big ball of fire. everybody was so professional. the pilot stopped the plane perfect. and we all started exiting. it was kind of a coordinated chaos but it was unbelievable how we got off that plane. >> reporter: in a separate incident at fort lauderdale airport, a fedex plane caught while landing. officials say the left landing gear collapsed causing the left wing and fire. both pilots escaped without injury. the national transportation safety board is now investigating. both airplane incidents. in new york, brian yenis, fox news. also tonight, toxicology reports show that miami marlins pitcher jose fernandez had both cocaine and alcohol in his system when his boat crashed into a miami beach jetty. the cause of death was listed as boat crash by the miami-dade

fernandez and his two friends killed by blunt force trauma in the crash off the coast of south beach. the trio was seen at a bar shortly before that crash. a receipt for alcohol purchased at the bar was found in one of their pockets. members of opec and six other oil producing countries today discussed methods for driving up the cost of oil by limiting output. one of the options, individual members would cut back on barrels they sell, something they have refused to do for years now.% another possibility would be for saudi arabia to be the only nation to reduce oil production. a statement released after the meeting said, the representatives expressed concerns about a persistient overfly of crude -- persistent oversupply of crude. a nice warm day today. we'll see how warm it got when we come back.

there, but on the warm side again. if you're tired of this weather, a lot of people are joining knew that camp. and we're going to see cooler temperatures. we've got a couple more days of the warm numbers. we are in the 90s. pretty clear conditions. not the case, though, to the west and to the north of us. actually looks like we've dropped down to 80 at this hour. there's a low pressure system just off the coastline, bringing plenty of rain to the pacific northwest. we're talking about nine inches of rain for seattle alone. that's a new record for the month of october. but it's a different picture for us. cloud cover through southern nevada and into utah. this area of low pressure is going to affect our forecast. but in the meantime, we're dealing with this very warm dome of air. over texas. this low as it skirts northern arizona is going to cool us down a little bit. we're not going to see fall-like temperatures. in terms of the cooler temps, places like window rock, you're in the 40s. 46 in the grand canyon. prescott in the upper 50s.

67 for douglas. the numbers starting to drop below 80 degrees. chandler at 79. mid 70s for florence and buckeye. 77 surprise. and 78 degrees into apache junction. today a brand-new record set. so if it felt really hot out there, it wasn't just you. we hit 96 for the afternoon high. we should be in the low 80s as we continue this trend. the old record in 2007 was a degree cooler. halloween just around the your little trick-or-treaters probably aren't going to need a jacket. it's going to be on the warm side. around 5:00, still going to be in the upper 80s. a little bit cooler around 7:00, 85 degrees. and then by 9:00, we'll be dropping down to about 80, if not some upper 70s in other places across the valley. as we look at the pacific northwest, you'll notice the rain. and in california snow throughout the sierra. warm temperatures, though, as we move inland. certainly into the midwest and throughout the south. 80s in many locations across

that jet stream is just riding far too north to the cool us down. the temperatures will be pleasant overnight. 58 for globe. low 40s into saint johns. 69 for bullhead city. 70 for yuma. 52 for nogals. page at 56 and for tomorrow, barely seeing any of the red in our koon tour. that's -- contour. that's good news. 75 prescott. 72 for payson. 75 degrees for window rock. cover out there. numbers will remain above average. even with those clouds. at least they're going to block some of the sunshine. keep us from warming up too, too much. so we'll look at mid 90s for tomorrow as we make our way into your halloween holiday. as we saw earlier, upper 80s expected for the afternoon high. then a little bit cooler as that cold front moves through. we get to enjoy the cooler air on the backside of that system. that brings us into the mid 80s, which still may end up being slightry above
