aboard this american airlines flight as it left chicago yesterday. an engine exploded on that plane and in the panic to get off the burning plane, 21 people were injured, none seriously. >> amazing that no one was seriously hurt. fox news reporter brian yenis has more on this story. >> reporter: american airlines flight 383 carrying 170 people, crew, and a dog was taking off on the runway in chicago o'haver yesterday afternoon when suddenly the right engine bloop. a massive luckily pilots aborted the take off already lifting off to miami. the fire melting part of the right wing, cracking and melting passenger windows. the federal aviation administration says the boeing 767 experienced a rare uncontained engine failure, interviewing engine parts into the air a. passenger on board recording as they evacuated the plane on the emergency chutes.

>> reporter: in a separate incident at fort lauderdale airport, a fedex plane caught while landing. officials say the left landing gear collapsed causing the left wing and fuel tank to catch fire. both pilots escaped without injury. the national transportation safety board is now investigating. both airplane incidents. in new york, brian yenis, fox news. also tonight, toxicology reports show that miami marlins pitcher jose cocaine and alcohol in his system when his boat crashed into a miami beach jetty. the cause of death was listed as boat crash by the miami-dade medical examiner's office. fernandez and his two friends killed by blunt force trauma in the crash off the coast of south beach. the trio was seen at a bar shortly before that crash. a receipt for alcohol purchased at the bar was found in one of

>> fantasy fest ends tomorrow. gorgeous saturday out therech but on the warm side -- there, but on the warm side again. if you're tired of this weather, a lot of people are joining knew that camp. and we're going to see cooler temperatures. we've got a couple more days of the warm numbers. we are in the 90s. pretty clear conditions. not the case, though, to the west and to the north of us. actually looks like we've dropped down t there's a low pressure system just off the coastline, bringing plenty of rain to the pacific northwest. we're talking about nine inches of rain for seattle alone. that's a new record for the month of october. but it's a different picture for us. pretty clear, a little bit of cloud cover through southern nevada and into utah. this area of low pressure is going to affect our forecast. but in the meantime, we're dealing with this very warm dome of air. over texas. this low as it skirts northern arizona is going to cool us down a little bit.

in terms of the cooler temps, places like window rock, you're in the 40s. 46 in the grand canyon. prescott in the upper 50s. 82 for yuma, 80 for phoenix and 67 for douglas. the numbers starting to drop below 80 degrees. chandler at 79. mid 70s for florence and buckeye. 77 surprise. and 78 degrees into apache junction. today a brand-new record set. so if it felt really hot out there, it wast we hit 96 for the afternoon high. we should be in the low 80s as we continue this trend. the old record in 2007 was a degree cooler. halloween just around the corner. your little trick-or-treaters probably aren't going to need a jacket. it's going to be on the warm side. around 5:00, still going to be in the upper 80s. a little bit cooler around 7:00, 85 degrees. and then by 9:00, we'll be dropping down to about 80, if not some upper 70s in other

as we look at the pacific northwest, you'll notice the rain. and in california snow throughout the sierra. warm temperatures, though, as we move inland. certainly into the midwest and throughout the south. 80s in many locations across the south. a heat wave for sure because that jet stream is just riding far too north to the cool us down. the temperatures will be pleasant overnight. 58 for globe. low 40s into saint johns. 69 for bullhead city. 70 for yuma. 52 for nogals. page barely seeing any of the red in our koon tour. that's -- contour. that's good news. 75 prescott. 72 for payson. 75 degrees for window rock. so tonight a little bit of cloud cover out there. numbers will remain above average. even with those clouds. at least they're going to block some of the sunshine. keep us from warming up too, too much. so we'll look at mid 90s for tomorrow as we make our way into your halloween holiday. as we saw earlier, upper 80s

one man is dead and two others are recovering one man is dead, two others are recovering, in the hospital tonight after a shooting outside a phoenix pool hall. fox 10's courtney griffin has that story. >> reporter: phoenix police say three people were shot at the break room bar off 48th street and mcdowell around 1:30 this morning. we spoke to a witness who says he was pulling up to the bar when he came across two people on a stretcher going into the ambulanc yeah, it was -- there was so many police. >> reporter: police say a 36-year-old man was killed. and a man in his 50s and a woman in her 30s were both% shot and taken to the hospital in serious condition. but are expected to be okay. witnesses say many people were around at the time of the shooting. >> some of them were running around panicking and one guy like -- he know that was his friend or something, because he was going like, a little off. >> reporter: roderick says a lot
