learning more about that massive good evening, we are learning more about that massive explosion that led to an apartment complex catching fire in payson last night. here is what we know. eight people were hurt in the blast. one is in serious condition. >> now investigators are trying to figure out what went wrong. there today and spoke to neighbors who describe what the explosion sounded like. >> what was once a fourplex now looks like this. a pile of smoldering debris after a loud explosion rocked the town of payson causing a fireball to take out this apartment complex. >> all of a sudden it was a great big boom and i jumped up and i said what the heck is that? and he goes just knocked me out of my chair. >> within minutes janet and her

see what the noise was all about when they got on scene the fireball had lit up the night sky. >> it was chaos. total chaos you could see the first responders trying to get everything under control. >> multiple crews worked to get the fire out. all while attending to those injured. >> i couldn't believe anybody wasn't killed. >> richard myers says he never heard anything like that before. >> we both heard the big boom and she wanted to know what it gunshot. it was an explosion of some type. >> total of nine people were inside at the time of the explosion. everyone has since been accounted for. seven people were transported to payson hospital and one woman who had more serious injuries was flown to phoenix and treated for burns. neighbors say after feeling and hearing the explosion, they are shocked everyone made it out. now the next step is to start

>> people that lost their homes and stuff, it's just horrific. but we will work together as a community to get them back on their feet. our first responders are awesome, awesome human beings. i can't say enough. >> investigators remain on scene as they try to figure out exactly what started the fire, that could take several hours if not days. reporting in payson, courtney griffin, "fox 10 news." a fire back here in valley, one person is looking for a place to stay after a fire breaks out in their scottsdale home. this happened near 86th and thomas. one person was in the home at the time, was able to escape. fortunately nobody was hurt by the flames and so far no word on what started that fire. and we continue to follow the tragedy that happened in the east valley yesterday. we are talking about the drowning of a four-year-old boy. he is now been identified as

investigators say the little boy climbed out of a window and then fell into the family pool and drowned. this all happened near university and val vista drive yesterday. police say the whole thing seems to be a tragic accident but they just want to caution, remind and warn parents to always have pool safety at the top of their mind, even as we head into the cooler months. on to a developing story now and we are learning more about the man who was pulled over outside of ourox after police say that he led them on a chase through the valley. police say the tony gutierrez was driving the wrong way near arizona avenue at gil and elliott in gilbert and officer tried to pull gutierrez over and then took off and led police on a 30 minute chase ending in downtown phoenix. police say they sent a canine unit because of the potential threat that suspect demonstrated. gutierrez was taken to a nearby hospital for a dog bite wound

>> sad news from the war room. we are learning that one of the soldiers killed this week on a military base in jordan was from tucson. 30-year-old staff sergeant kevin mcenroe was one of three americans killed after their convoy came under fire friday. the soldiers were part of a spoation -- special forces group. you decide 2016, and we are just two days out from the election, of course, and a huge hillary clinton e-mail probe. just a few hours ago director james comey announced the investigation has again closed down and the agency will not be recommending charges against clinton. comey said the fbi has worked, quote, around the clock to process and review a large number of e-mails and now this happened before both candidates were able to hold rallies today. the clinton campaign welcomed the announcement and even with

annual grand prix of scottsdale gatsby weekend. >> that sounds like fun. so pane fun things. the final event the big race. and the theme was the roaring 20s and it came complete with cocktails and open wheeled vintage mini racers. they look pretty vintage for sure. the race took place this morning at 11:00 and was free to the general public. >> there were up to 40 of these vintage mini racers that you see navigating a half mile road course with drivers. more than 20,000 people were expected at the event. looks like they probably made it. i love that. >> i like that. well, it was a nice day and i hope you found a little shade for that still pretty nice out there but what about the rest of the week here?

look at that. 82 degrees just a light breeze out of the southwest for you. about eight miles per hour. there is a little haze in the air. it's been a great day today and a nice sunday. 81 degrees right now in scottsdale. 78 degrees in fountain hills. 80 deg 79 in surprise. and ahwatukee it's 84 degrees. little bit on the warm side today. you see a little bit of cloud cover around us. some of it coming in to the northeastern portion of the state today. most part it was clear and sunny with a little haze up there. 84 degrees right now at sky harbor. we had 82 degrees at buckeye. 81 at deer valley. 81 degrees in chandler as well.

in some areas. as you can see, beautiful across the mountains here. 64 in flagstaff. 72 degrees in sedona. 71 in prescott. and 89 degrees in yuma. so picking up a little bit on the desert floor mid-80s at gila bend of overnight lows looking good. mixing some 50s in there now. you have 58 in surprise. 57 in ahwatukee. 57 in fountain hills. 60 in scottsdale. look at mesa at 56 degrees. that's almost chilly out 80 and 56 is your normal high and low. there is your record high at 94. your record low at 34. let's take a look here and see what we are forecasting. mid-80s temperatures are warming up a little bit. you can see there are some low 80s mixed in around the valley but for the most part it's mid-80s. we have some 70s in the mountains a few 60s showing as well. 72 at prescott. 89 is the forecast once again at

as we look across the country we see a little bit of mixed weather as far as the northwest is concerned. we see some rain here and there is a little bit of high elevation snow, cloud cover a little moisture northern portions of california. and this storm down here near dallas and another one moving through oklahoma at this time. we will get a look at both of them here. those are the two biggest storms on the horizon right now. you see a little bit cover in the northeast with 60 degrees in new york. 73 in charlotte today and in atlanta mid-70s. these are all temperatures outside of the realm for what we are looking for at this time of year. some of them as much as 20 degrees warmer. 70 in wichita. 70 in dallas. 71 in bismarck. look at billings, 65 degrees. 60 in seattle today with mid-70s in san diego. that's the way things will look overnight. 61 degrees.

hour this morning for daylight savings time. turns out that arizona not changing their clocks may be good for your health. transitions into daylight savings time linked to increased heart attack risk and fatal car accidents. doctors say that people may feel sluggish in the next couple of days to adjust to time change. and they say that it's easier for our bodies to adjust to falling back this time of year as opposed to springing forward the clock. this may not shock, but constantly worry being having a heart attack may make it more likely you will have a heart attack. researchers collected catta over more than 7,000 people born in the 1950s. the team found that just over 700 people who had anxiety scores that showed they were anxious about their health. during seven years of follow-up, more than 200 people had a heart attack or acute chest pain. and you guessed it.
