>> well, thank you very much, president obama. this was a meeting that was going to last for maybe ten or 15 minutes, and we were just going to get to know each other. we had never met each other. i have great respect. the meeting lasted for almost an hour and a half, and it could it could have gone on for a lot longer. we discussed a lot of situati situations, some wonderful and some difficulties i very much look forward to dealing with the president in the future, including counsel. he explained some of the difficulties, some of the high-flying assets and some of the really great things that have been achieved, so mr. president, it was a great honor being with you, and i look forward to being with you many, many more times in the future.p.

there have been presidential sons since then, but only presidential daughters have actually lived in the white house since 1963. >> imagine that. live pictures from skyfox here where for the second day in a row, students were walking out of class to start protester over the presidential election. you can see from live pictures, they are marching on camelback at around 7th avenue.pthis is tn phoenix high school students have walked out of class in protest of donald trump being elected president. and then take a look here at these live pictures from san francisco. hundreds of protesters are marching toward city hall there on the streets. protests have broken out in several major cities, including new york, chicago, as well as los angeles. former new york mayor rudy giuliani is dismissing the post election protesters as, quote,

giuliani says most of the protesters are college students and seem to be 1 percent of 1 percent of 1 percent, he says. giuliani is widely expected to get a major position in the trump administration. that trump university lawsuit is going forward and is going to trial on november 28th. a judge will decide today what jury instructions will be and what evidence will be allowed at trial, and then the big question is will president elect trump be put on the witness stand here. as attorneys are going to exclude any statements made by or about him during the presidential campaign. the court case against joe arpaio back in court this afternoon for a hearing, the sheriff accused of operating immigration patrols after a federal judge told him to stop, the hearing getting underway this afternoon at 2:00. we'll be there and let you ptho. a man is found guilty of killing a three-year-old girl nearly 20 years ago and leaving her body in the desert near

first-degree murder. authorities say the girl was physically abused while living her mother and the defendant. authorities are still trying to find the mother. in court this morning, a court hearing to determine whether a suspect in a grisly valley killing is fit to stand trial. they say back in 2012 he sit a 13-year-old on fire. police them she asked her to kill him. a victim shot in the head in north phoenix, and anita roman has more on what happened. . >> we are seeing detectives investigators looking for evidence. photographr mike robinson going to give you a closer look. just a few seconds ago, there was a police officer dusting, it looked like for fingerprints, and those arcadia doors. those doors that are open right now, police say the victim was standing just on the other side

9:50 yesterday morning, a man in his forties, when his wife called 911 reporting that he had been shot. the woman reported three gunshots, the man shot twice, taken to the hospital. the phoenix fire department said that they transported him with a gunshot wound to the head, transported in serious condition to local phoenix hospital. according to police, the shooter was not seen, and we just talked to a neighbor ago who said she heard gunshots, ran outside and they didn't see anything either. >> we heard the thump, thump, thump, and then i said, honey, is that a gunshot or fireworks? i don't know. so we went inside. we saw nothing. and then in a few minutes, here's the helicopter and lots of police. >> reporter: police hopefully wrapping up the crime scene as

but again, one person shot, two people in custody this morning. back to you. >> anita, thank you. a man crossing a phoenix street was struck by a car and killed, struck last night on camelback. it looks like the driver did not see him in time on state route 51. very dramatic pictures there, you can see phoenix fire department sending us this video as they battled the fire n 12th street and glendale. the homeowner made it out safely, the cause of the fire is now under investigation. well, this has got to be a first. glendale police help rescue a kangaroo. take a look at this picture here from the glendale police department. officer joseph parcopio responded it a call for a kangaroo in the street. very unique, right? the officer managed to lasso the kangaroo with a dog leash.

during strive to drive sundays- only at casino arizona! and there goes david... off to win big. at noon. with troy hayden and syleste rodriguez. the search is on in pennsylvania for a gunman who ambushed two police officers, one of them killed, the other on the two officers were responding to a domestic situation about 20 miles southwest of pittsburgh, and shots were fired as soon as they arrived. again, one of them was killed. swat teams seen at least two different homes there but no word on whether or not they are getting close it finding that gunman. flags at half staff today in honor of the show low police officer shot and killed on tuesday. arizona governor doug ducey ordering the honor for officer

reed was shot and killed by daniel erickson while responding to a disturbance call in show low. police later caught up with him as he barricaded himself in a cabin, holding a 15-year-old hostage for six years. erickson fired shots, officers returned gunfire killing him. reed was a ten-year veteran of the force and yesterday in show low there was of course, as you can imagine, a big show so have support as people lined the street to honor him as his casket drove by. reed was set to retire in february and leaves behind a wife and two children. there was also a candle light vigil for the officer last night but there were so many candles that it set a well-known statue on fire, card players, which memorizes the meaning of the town of show low. it got its name from card men where two frontier battled over the territory. the winner of the game had to show low card, and that's how show low got its name.

college basketball is college basketball is about to get underway and march madness will end with the final four right here in the valley. the final four committee was in town making their plans for the very big event. the games will take place in glendale at the university of phoenix stadium, but the focus of this visit is the events that will take place in downtown phoenix, which is where all of the fun will be had, and while this will be the first time the valley has hos four, we have had a track record of great major sporting events taking place here. >> we are really starting to hit home that we are right around the corner from this event. final four weekend will be very busy in downtown. in addition to the basketball games on april 1st and third, the dbacks will also play their home opener on april 2nd. sun devil football fans your team plays their last home game

big game, hosting number 15 utah at sun devil stadium. the game is at 7:30 tonight >> all right, we can do it sun devils. fox 10 is your home for nfl football this sunday, the packers face the titans at 11:00, and then the cardinals host the niners. fox 10 follows the game after that. cardinals game, so the nfl and fox team together in a salute to service for all of the differen games, we'll have different things, and they sent me out to luke air force base and i got to surprise an airman in a meeting. i was like, excuse me, is airman diaz in here, and all of these old general kind of guys are like what's going on, and then a bunch of cheerleaders come in, in big red, and he got sweet tickets to the game. >> how cool is that?

you can see how this weather is trying to push in off the pacific. no dice. it's going to have trouble breaking through that big blue h. so we'll continue to see the sunshine, and we have seen relatively calm days. we have got kind of a breezy afternoon underway though, right now, in fact winds are very strong out in the southeastern corner of the state, wind gusts in the last 15 minutes up to 36 miles an hour in tuscon, 25 or so at globe and safford and douglas also, but you get closer to the valley, we have had some a bit of a closer look at how all of that is going. well, first of all, we'll get you on the move here, not much in the north and west, but some of these tighter looks show just how gusty things are, and this will continue probably throughout much of the afternoon. here in the valley, boy, east and west side, nearly 30-mile-an-hour winds now out of the east in florence, lesser winds at apache junction, but at gateway airport, about 25, and

some of these, i don't know, kind of strong numbers. so get ready for a breezy afternoon, but all in all it's going to be a pretty nice way to finish up your thursday. again, upper 70s out there for the most part, low 80s in mesa though, 76 at deer valley airport and as we look around the rest of the country, it's going to be a pretty nice ride for everybody. your daytime highs are pretty nice for not just us here but all across the u.s. look, 64 in the twin cities now. 61 in chicago. there's not a whole lot of heavy we so again, if you're going to be jetting off around the country over this weekend, really almost anywhere you go is going to be pretty pleasant. so here's your forecast over the next week and a half. this week and through the weekend, early next week, too, low 80s out there. but, boy, on wednesday we start to push in some cooler air with a few clouds sink by, and then we really bottom out in the low 70s for your thursday. >> whoa. >> speaking of zipping.
