guess great guys at hendrick sports, got to thank all of the guys, and dale, jr. next to me, especially getting a pole so close to home, it means a lot to me. much more at 10:00, the sun devils and the cats, both teams hooping it up today, we have got the highlights to prove it, but right now it is back to the news crew. and we begin tonight in goodyear where an 8-year-old girl has been flown to the hospital following a bad crash out scene, police telling us that two vehicles crashed at the intersection of cereval and victory road. officers say at this point they don't think either driver was impaired. we'll keep you updated on we learn more on what exactly happened out there. also a warning out tonight by the dea of a new opponent and deadly drug becoming popular across the country.

responsible for dozens of deaths across the nation. stefania okolie has been looking into the dangers of the synthetic drug. she joins us now. parents need to be aware of the dangers of the drug. >> perhaps the most alarming thing about it is how easily it can be accessed. all i had to do was type a quick search into google, this one here as cheap as $35. a lot of people the synthetic drug is extremely deadly. >> sadly, there are always new designer drugs appearing every day. >> better known as pink on the streets, an opiate strand drug that's eight times stronger than heroin. >> chemists create it, a lot of money behind it, you alter one molecule or leg and it's something new. >> that something new is

drugs. >> you can have a controlled substance, change a piece of it, and all of a sudden it's a legal product. >> it's part of a surge of synthetic drugs on the market, pink now responsible for dozens of deaths across the nation, most recently in utah where 213-year-old boys diedf a taking the drug. they ordered it on the internet. stephanie is the director of community education for community bridges. she says one of the scariest parts about this is the very easy access to drugs. >> no one is immune to this. >> right. >> it could be rich or poor, young or old, everyone has access to designer drugs online nowadays. >> yeah, and the fact that these synthetic drugs are killing people should alone be enough for people to want to stay away from them. getting these things off the street, it's scary alone, getting things inside of a store.

first family. the new security measures have been a headache for people living in trump tower. >> it's the inconvenience of having to walk around three blocks, four blocks to come in at night. they, once you say you're a resident, they let you in, and that's not a problem, but there were no deliveries that really can come in. it's very difficult. it just upsets your schedule. >> the skyscraper is usually open to the public but no tourists have to go through security checkpoints to get inside. now trump is also from his loyal supporters for the transition to the white house, and one of the -- one of which is kansas secretary of state chris cobak. that name may sound familiar to you because he was the architect of sb 1070, the architect of arizona's immigration law. he will be working with trump on policy issues. a lot of people have been asking us why the results of the election have been already called with so many ballots left to count. marcy jones has been looking into this for us and has the

it's a question we keep getting on our facebook page. >> a lot of people want to know, and it can seem a little confusion why the election is called with some blats -- ballots in boxes across the state. >> we like every good story, and this was a good story, and we were prepared for a lot of eventualities, but definitely one for the record books. >> projecting elections, a part of the fox news decision desk, he says november 8th, 2016, will never be forgotten. he also wants to remind folks that the official call calls from the electoral college december 19th. >> when news outlets call a race, that's not official. we are just projecting what we think is going to happen. we happen to have quite a good k track record about projecting

there is nothing legally binding about what we said. >> it's like that across the board, even for individual states, for example, the hundreds of thousands of ballots that have yet to be counted in arizona follow the same formula, based on exit polling and the majority decision of the location the ballot came from. >> the way it looked for us, after you look at the exit polls at the beginning, they tell one story of the race. as you start to see actual results come in, you test the exit poll against those actual results. >> chris says even though some polls didn't project the outcome, it got easier as the election carried on to make a more accurate projection. >> we were particularly cautious about making our call in pennsylvania as we looked because there was still enough raw vote out there that we wanted to make sure that there wasn't a mistake, because better to be right than first. >> i agree with that. when it comes to decisions like prop 205, they use a formula based on the trend of the region and compare it to the ratio of the number of ballots outstanding, reporting live,

thanks for clearing that up for us. arizona voters also rejected prop 205 which would have legalized recreational marijuana. now doctors offices say they are seeing a rush of people seeking medical marijuana prescriptions. the phoenix new times reporting a increase in the number of people booking appointments at certification centers, the receptionist at sun valley ce have been slammed. medical marijuana voters approving the law back in 2010. later on in the show, a 90-year-old woman, she jumps from 10,000 feet in the air to honor her late husband. it's an amazing story.

fox 10 news is back. thousands of people in phoenix line the streets today for the veterans day parade, that parade zigzagged down central avenue, camelback, and 7th street and ended over near the phoenix va. veterans from three different wars were at the parade this morning, all represented there. they came with their families today to celebrate is watch as americans honored their sacrifice for our country. we spoke with one veteran who said he appreciated being able to serve. >> it's a good life if that's what you choose, but you have got to be sure you want to do it before you do it, and that's about all of the advice that i can give them. . >> and the man we spoke to, gary page, is a vietnam war veteran and gave 20 years to our country. thank you, gary, and for everyone else who has served in the military. two doctors at phoenix children's hospital are more than just coworkers. they are also veterans who

special bond. back in 2004, doctors don mcclellan and robert puntell were planning on working together in iraq, but mcclellan was sent tomozul and puntell was sent to an area outside of baghdad. puntell offered to stay in for an extra two months so that mcclellan could go home. >> i said, well, i know you would do for me, so i said i'll just stay longer so you can do those big events. >> yeah, no, i -- yeah, i did. in fact, i stepped outside, a aand had a little bit of a cry. >> because of his selfless act,

63, somewhere in that neighborhood that we'll be looking for the overnight low, 59 in glendale, 58 in ahwatukee, and 59 degrees overnight in apache junction. here you go with your day, 66 this morning, 83 this afternoon, 78 and 54 would be the normal high and low, the record high 91, record low at 35. this is what we are forecasting for tomorrow. we look at those temperatures coming down just a degree or so. some areas will be the same as today, but the city a couple of degrees cooler. it will be forecasting 70 in sedona, 65 in payson, 84 at gila bend, 65 at st. john's, and down in douglas 70 degrees with that 87 forecast for yuma. looking across the country, well, the west is starting to see a little bit of moisture come in as a new front pushes in. in fact, early in the day, it was just washington and oregon. now it's a lot of california involved in that.

looking at back then here is as high tech as it got in the world. at the kennedy space center, phil keating, fox news. one great grandmother takes to the skies today to commemorate family members and others who have served the country, my favorite story of the day, 93-year-old lorry phillips jumped from 10,000 feet in the air to honor her husband, a world war ii vet and the 82nd airborne. we spoke with lorry to tell us what it was like. >> it was beautiful. it was really, really nice. i was really scared when they opened that door and threw me out. i was glad he was hanging on to me. >> wow. lorry says she has no future plans to jump again, although she says she may consider it for a 95th birthday. i hope i have her energy and adventurous spirit at that age.

we are going to score in the 90s. i have to admit, i like that attitude. taking on portland state, hurley brought in a couple of transfers from his old school in buffalo, and both made their presence felt early, graham hits the shot from downtown, graham, again, a nice little move from the baseline, gets the bucket to go, beautiful passing, graham, three-ball, corner pocket, gets the shooter's bounce. nice, defense leads to offense, and more tory coast to coast, don't forget to butter the toast, butt some jam on that thing, throws it down right there, very nice, 23 points. holder also had a very good game, 23 points from him, attacking and stops and pops right there. the other buffalo transfer, evans, gets hot from downtown, hits threes late and the route was on, a.s.u. beats portland

88-70, a good start for the sun devils. can't forget about the cats, u of a taking on michigan state, turned out to be a great game. and this is a freshman, miles bridges from michigan state goes reverse, throws it down, very nice bucket right here, the u of a responds with defense. alkins gets the steal, gets his own rebound, gets the hoop and the harm. it turned out to be one of heck of a game, miles bridges again, this kid is something the freshman throwing down the alley-oop. he says, give me the ball, and he gets the shooter's bounce. we are tied at 63, 7 seconds left, plenty of time for kadeem allen to weave through traffic, and he gets the bucket to go, one second left and he banks it in, so nice, look at it twice, that's your ball game, u of a wins, your final score 65-63.
