this. we're live not of osborn in central phoenix. the core of engineers has an office here and they will hold off on its plans and talk to the standing siux tribe before going ahead with the pipeline under the river. that did not keep people from protesting. they say this battle is far from over. in central phoenix, more than 100 people stood on a send a message over 1,000 miles away to dakota access pipeline proesters in north dakota. >> i think it is important to stand with standing rock to show we are here and we are standing in solidarity withstanding rock. reporter: the standing rock tribe has been fighting plans to

near their land. it is a fight against big oil say these protesters but it is more of a fight for clean water. >> it is an important topic to keep water clean and standing in solidarity with the human race. water is what we need as living beings. >> reporter: fighting a big oil company is no easy task but these protesters say their voices have made a >> ignoring it does not make a difference. we have to act. >> i think the public actions to bring attention to the issues have put pressure on the u.s. core of engineers so they make a statement like they did last night stating that the dakota access pipeline cannot, repeat cannot go forward with the construction on this site. >> reporter: now this protest started at 10:00 this morning. as you can see, it is still

three counties on high alert as the party rock fire as they call it, continues to grow. the blaze charred more than 3,000 acres. only 15% contained. this fire is the second most critical fire in the country right now. good news for the three cows stranded after an earthquake in new zealand. the two cows and a calf were grass. the powerful earthquake, 7.8. they were rescued after their farmer dug a track and brought them back out. the farmer says the cows were desperate for water but in good shape. giant simple hole swallowing up one family's backyard. imagine stepping outside of your sliding glass door and this is
