everybody getting a little shot. you can see there's not much left up there as you watch the radar, a little bit of action down by tuscon but that's not mostly rain, some of the mountains down there getting a little bit of action. there's the rainfall from earlier in the day, but unless you count that one inch a little south of tonto basin, not a lot. it was just chilly, windy, and a little wet across the valley. now here comes the freeze warning for tonight. that's until wednesday at 10:00 a.m., and these are the hard freeze warnings these are going to be until wednesday as well, and they are down just a little south of us at this time. well, we had a windy day today. we had a lot of snow, and we had a little bit of rain. what will tomorrow bring and the rest of the week? we'll have that forecast for you coming up. all right, dave. we'll see you then. could maricopa community colleges be downsizing? that possibility has the more than 8,000 educators and staff pretty concerned. matt rodewald attended a packed board of governors meeting tonight, and he joins us now

glendale. matt? >> yeah, definitely packed, no doubt about it, and a lot on the line for one of the largest community colleges in the country and here in the valley, of course with more than 200,000 students that could be affected by major changes, we are talking more than 1,500 full-time faculty members and more than 4,500 adjunct faculty members, the glendale civic center tonight, more than 500 people in the room, and they had to bring out extra chairs for this one. only a couple of people actually spoke up publicly and raised concerns about hair -- about their jobs. the chancellor says dividing the school into regional control will bring the number of presidents down to five, saving about a million dollars.

but that's a place to startrt i terms of keeping faculty on site. it was an hour and five-minute meeting, which ended pretty earlier, and when i asked one of the school officials about layoffs, they said in terms of this plan, no, layoffs are not a part of the equation. maybe something down the road in terms of retiring faculty members and not filling those positions, and you and i both know that's pretty much a hiring freeze that you can pretty much expect for community college district. a lot of people talking about this tonight, but really in the hour and five-minute meeting that we sat through tonight, the word layoffs wasn't used one time. marc, real quick, the next meeting, they are going to do this again in mesa next week. >> all right, matt, thank you for that update. a phoenix police robot there blows up a backpack in a parking

it turns out there was nothing dangerous inside. police are still investigating who may have left that backpack there. several people are wounded after a student at the ohio state university drives his car on to campus and then starts stabbing people with a butcher knife. investigators say abdul razak ali artan injured 11 in this morning's attack. he was shot by an officer who was responding nearby gas leak when the attack began. he was born in somalia and had permanent legally residency in the u.s. >> i was completely astonished. he seemed like a normal guy, nice, well mannered. >> investigators are looking into whether this was an act of terrorism. sheriff joe arpaio looking

he did say somewhat tight lipped but said turning down a possible position would be chief. >> reporter: today joe arpaio held a press conference about his annual posse program, which has provided extra security at malls during the holiday season for years now. although this was the main topic of conversation, he did little bit of insight about the possibility of him being in the trump position. >> i was with him from the beginning, and i'm with him in the end. >> reporter: his posse program, which provides extra security at valley malls during the holiday season -- >> if you think 84 is old and going away, i have got news for you. so remember, i'll probably be a -- i may be a private citizen,

a very powerful rank to have. >> reporter: although his run as sheriff will come to an end in january, he's not counting out a position under the trump administration, arpaio telling us today he won't be talking about any conversations he's had with president elect donald trump, if he's had any. >> with him, it might be a little tougher to turn him down, because of who he is and how he's treated me and my family i'm not giving you an answer. i'm just saying how it would be more difficult for me to make up my mind. if the president of the united states calls, i have to serve my country. >> reporter: trump also supported the sheriff telling voters here in arizona to reelect arpaio during a rally here in phoenix. now, arpaio also said today that he will be holding a news conference on december 15th. he wouldn't say what it would be about or if there was any

that sort. reporting live, danielle miller, fox 10 news. all right, danielle, thanks. we'll keep an eye on that. it is official, president elect donald trump has won michigan's 16 electoral votes, giving the republican 306 electoral votes to democratic hillary clinton's 232. however, green party candidate jill stein is expected to ask for a recount there. >> and i was asked many times during the campaign if i would stand up and call for a if there were doubts about the reliability and the security of the vote, and i always said, yes, regardless of who is declared winner. the american people deserve to have a voting system we can trust. >> wisconsin election commissioners rejected green party candidate stein's request for a hand recount, so instead clerks will decide how best to recount starting this thursday. stein missed a deadline to ask for pennsylvania's recount, so today she filed a lawsuit

according to the arizona capitol times, republicans' lead grew in several races after the november 8th vote when the mailed in ballots were counted. those ballots typically favored democrats, but not this year. campaign consultants say that's because many republicans held on to their ballots as long as they could, mailing them in just before the deadline. coming up, a playboy model accused of body shaming admits she di guilty plea today. the picture that she posted that landed her in so much trouble. a valley woman comes up with a way to stop the grinches from stealing her holiday decorations. she booby-traps them. you'll have to see the story. and carpal tunnel from all of the shopping this cyber monday? see the businesses taking all of

live from fox studios, fox 10 news is back. well, reindeer in japan may soon be delivering pizzas as christmas season approaches. dominos japan is trying to reindeer for deliveries. the company is looking for a way to deliver pizza in snowy weather rather than bicycles. if successful, the deliveries will come complete with gps trackers so customers can follow rudolph as he delivers the pizza to homes, or more likely track the pizza as it wanders all around your neighborhood. >> mama got run over by a reindeer delivering pizza, a

then it might not work. it's chilly out there folks. the temp has been going down here this evening. we have got it at 55 degrees right now, and that's actually a degree warmer than it was last hour, but the winds have picked up a little bit to add that little degree. 54 right now at goodyear, 51 in scottsdale, 55 right now in chandler. and you can see the cold front working its way through the state. we have got some snow up there. yo with nine inches, six inches up in forest lakes, and then one inch over in -- the with three inches. 57 degrees on the high today. we had 59 at goodyear, 55 up in glendale, and 57 up in chandler, 37 in sedona, 42 up in prescott,

bend. this is what we are forecasting for the lows tonight. the normal low for phoenix is 48, so we are going down to 43, got 41s, 42s, a couple of 39s mixed in there as well. normal high and low would be 70 and 48. record high for the day is 86. 32 is the record low. looking at the forecast highs for tomorrow, we are not going to jump it up much. we go to 60 degrees. 61 and a 62 in there. it's all going to be pretty close though 63 at gila bend, 38 at st. john's. taking a across the country, this is the big weather maker right here. that will be in new england by tomorrow, going to drop a lot of snow. 43 overnight, 60 degrees for tomorrow, and those 60s they take over as they control at least the top of the board and most of the bottom, and those
