christmas.. 7:30 on the west coast on tuesday morning. breaking news, the second largest school system in the country are being closed this morning because of threats. >> it's quite extraordinary. the district is made up of more than 1,000 schools. 640,000 children are told is to stay home or get home if they already made their way to school. joe, what can you tell us about this? >> good morning, savannah and matt. school officials are saying that

school board member and that's what prompting this huge response to cancel all schools. we don't know exactly when this happened but this is a quick action being taken by the school district. more than 600,000 students, more than 900 schools. what's happening now is students who have arrived at school, parents are being asked to pick up those kids at what are called reunion gates. each school has a reunion gate where parents know to pick up their kids. buses that were already en route are being turned around or not picking up student as a precaution. emergency operation centers are being set up at schools throughout the school district and we're also being told you could expect to see some sort of bomb sweeps at schools and buildings throughout this school district. so that is a eprecaution being taken right now. we still don't know the details about this bomb threat but obviously we know at this point the school district is taking it

matt and savannah. >> and savannah mentioned more than 900 schools are a part of this school district. if they're going to sweep all of those buildings, any idea how long something like that would take? >> at this point we don't know. we're still waiting to learn more information from school officials on whether they feel they need to sweep all of those schools or whether they have more specific information we don't know at this point. if it is a general bomb threat, clearly they want to take every precaution and make sure everything is safe. >> we want to turn now to shocking video we've been showing you of a man intentionally plowing his truck into the front desk of a hotel. >> the man was reportedly upset about his hotel bill and the hotel clerk thought he was bluffing when he threatened to crash through the lobby.

monday shows the heart stopping moments for two employees at an oklahoma hotel after a dis disgruntled desk crashed his truck into the front desk. he can be seen talking with a police officer outside the alva comfort suites. surveillance video shows him crashing his 2006 sierra gmc through the hotel entrance and into the front desk as two women frantically dive for safety. he backs up the truck, stops and pulls back into the lobby. he says something to the women, gets out of the truck and calmly walks back to the entrance with his hands raised. the 62-year-old man was upset his credit card had been declined twice. he told police he drove into the
