as the review journal changes ownership. a major question being asked by reporters -- will reporters from the review journals file a lawsuit before a judge? >> something remarkable is happening inside the newsroom of the review journal. it seems that the best reporting about the rj is happening inside rj. >> this could be a very fine hour for journalism. >> that was brian greenspan. the future of a newsroom is unclear. right now, the rj is investigating itself with this headline, in it, a bombshell. three reporters were told to drop everything and monitor the activity of three local judges. one of those happened to be

in a lawsuit, the judge has him testifying in front of her. while the rj never published anything about the judge, weeks later, an article. called "the new burden harold," an article that was highly critical of judge gonzales. that paper is owned by michael schroeder, who was just introduced as the manager of the company that bought the rj. when the rj reporters asked schroeder about gonzales, schroeder perfused to answer questions. >> you have multiple lines going from the east coast to the journal -- who knows where they are going to. i do not think we know the story yet. >> that story is still being written, but the fact that the journal is writing it is commendable and notable.

former journal employee, mary welsh, knows that well. christine: major police say 38-year-old king fox tried to kill one of their offices on thursday, but just why he opened fire when the two had a chance meeting remains a mystery. after a five hour manhunt, police arrested fox six miles away in southern highlands. police say fox has no record. fortunately, the officer is expected to recover. he did not want to be identified because he did not want to take any of the focus away from the officer. he tells us he heard the gunshots outside his room at the emerald suites. >> the police man was able to communicate with me. he was able to answer questions.

>> we are not dealing with a wind chill to add on to our already chilly temperatures. here is a look at the satellite radar picture. we are watching this closely. we do have a cold front that will be sweeping its way through later on today. we have clouds and snow showers in portions of northwestern nevada. it is this cold front line here that we will be watching as the swings eastward. we can see that using the futurecast model. it moves further and further

10:00-10:30 is the best chance for shower activity and mountain snow. any rain that does come down will be fairly light. as far as the mountain snow, less than one inch of precipitation. this gets out of here by the overnight hours. we will clear out by morning, and looking up partly sunny skies for sunday. as far as our forecast, a high of 59 degrees, above normal for this time of the year. it will be a little breezy tonight. we do have a chance for rain. the best time he will be between 9:00 and 2:00 a.m. it will get cooler as we get into sunday. 55 degrees for the high. a few clouds hanging around. we will warm up to 60 degrees for new year's eve. christmas day, we do have a chance for a wind chill. cooler temperatures make it feel more like the holidays. christine: i agree with you.

president was very somber and inspired by the courage of those who lost loved ones. a sheriff's deputy in florida got sucker punched by a moped driver that ended in a wild shootout. it was caught on camera. what you are about to see is recorded by the officers dash cam. authorities say it shows the deputy chris lester after he pulled over a man on a moped. watch what happens. >> don't go reaching anything. hands on the hood. >> what is the problem? >> put your -- you know what -- put your hands on the hood. deputy lester chased coffee. coffee was shot in the side and leg. deputy lester is reported to be in stable condition. back here in the valley, a vehicle crashes with a family of four inside. it happened last night around 10015 near south pueblo boulevard and south boulder highway. henderson police say two vehicles crashed. thankfully, no one was hurt and american red cross volunteers are helping the family. the owners of a local talk go co shop were victims of a burglary a few days ago. their surveillance camera caught it all, and they took a lighthearted approach to sharing the video. the crooks hit the shops when
