exactly who this person was. heavy police presence. this man accused of shooting at a patrol officer. the patrol officer was following this man. the robbery was committed about two miles from here at a business. the vehicle crashed here. you can see they are conducting their investigation. no one was hit in this shooting. there was a shooting at the business where that robbery was committed. we're working on gathering de presence here. we'll get information from tom on getting around the road closure as well. >> dana: we are so excited to have our very own chloe in rio covering the olympics for us and there she is. we know all the talk here has been of the zika virus in rio. a lot of american athletes refusing to compete in the games

you head to rio? >> i literally went looking for the mosquitoes because i was worried about it and i wanted to check it out myself and i found one in a fruit bowl. other than that, things have been looking good here. initially i was nervous coming to rio. after speaking with locals, tourist and checking things out for myself it's not that b week, one of the first sights that caught my eye wasn't the seen ride sharing, it was the security. officers can be seen on just about every street corner surrounding the games i equipped

>> dana: shots fired at a police officer right next to the las vegas strip. kendall joins us live in front of the win hotel with the latest. >> this is the vehicle that where an alleged robbery took place. we have a crew on the scene going that way right now. the suspect is accused of shooting a firearm at the business location, also here on the way outside the win as he was heading on in. after crashing his car, he got out and fled the scene on foot going inside the win and running through the location. the win and encore are connected.

you've seen and heard there in brazil while you've been there. >> first i'll start with this behind me. that's the basketball arena. i'll post a picture to show how massive these buildings are. yesterday morning we walked five miles kaz alley. everything is enormous here. it's we are in the winter season and people are taking precautions by using bug spray. as far as security concerns, as soon as i landed here guys, we got off the plane, we got into a shuttle and it was crazy the amount of security we saw lined up along the highway.

polls have come out and they are not real good for trump. let's talk it out live with tracy potts. this week we've talked about an intervention with high level republicans. i believe at this point, donald trump has gotten the message it sounds like. >> maybe but publicly it's not like he's saying he's going to do anything different but the polls are telling a story here. clearly let's put this the election ever. we're not saying clinton is running away with it. given the trouble he's had in the last week and the out some of the convention the polls are move ago way from donald trump. the nbc poll she's up nine points. she's up nationally 15 points. we haven't seen that since earlier in the campaign.

talking about 1800 people now diagnosed with the zika virus. it's a home grown virus in the miami area. the announcement coming as miami deals with this outbreak. the cdc saying more than 470 pregnant women diagnosed. president obama criticizing congress for going on that virus. pregnant women in florida are being told stay away from that area. they are being promised free zika testing. there is a shortage of testing kits to go with that. the governor of florida saying pregnant women in the zika zone are going to get top priority. >> dana: we're getting ready for the best meteor shower of the year. they happen every august and
