the picket is stead you'lled to start at 8:00 this morning. it is supposed to run through 11:00 this morning. >> dana: local police say a woman in her 70's murdered here in the las vegas valley inside her own home. this happened in this neighborhood on the east side of the valley near washington and sloan yesterday evening. police say the victim a woman in her 70's who was found dead with severe head tram ma. no signs of a breakn witnesses telling police that the victim's estranged husband had been seen at the home earlier in the day. neighbors can't imagine why anybody would do this. >> she had a big heart, very charming. elderly woman. rarely came outside, didn't bother anybody. it's such a tragic incident that occurred. i don't really know how

right now it remains zero% contained. it has grown , the last update around 8:40 with 1500 acres. not contained. i'm guessing the new numbers coming out this morning are going to show it's grown more. hundreds of firefighters are battling this fire aided by 7 air tankers. evacuations have started so far no injuries and hope i that way. i want to take a live look outside. you see a little bit of haze in the background. smoke starting to make its way into the area. still a lot of blue sky. not as smoky as we saw a couple of weeks ago with the sand fire burning in southern california. here is a look at the temperatures. nellis 77. spring valley you are coming in at 81.

delta grounded flights nationwide. they lifted the ground stop. they are telling air passengers across the country this morning to expect delays and cancelled flights this. will be a problem going into today. it may not be as big of a problem in las vegas as we saw with southwest last month. >> kim: thank you for that. also southwest , the flight attendants are going to start an informational picket at 8:00 this morning. you are going to see a bunch of flight attendants around the southwest terminal. what happens when you are sitting on the tarmac and can't take off? pizza for everybody is what one of the pilots did to make sure everybody on board didn't get too grouchy this. is on a flight from hawaii to los angeles.
