down, no car -- only about four cars in the last hour have stopped for me and i've been pushing that button all morning long. people are not stopping. unfortunately what happened last night was this woman lost her life, she did not push the button. the driver did not see her. it was dark. that woman lost her life . the driver cooperated with authorities. was not speeding or what we're seeing out here is we're pushing this button and it's activated this light and people are not stopping. they are flying through here. this is a lesson learned for all of us. if you are going to be walking around and you are trying to cross the road, just because you push a button to activate lights does not mean people are going to stop. and when you are driving, when you see flashing lights, that

somebody is trying to cross the road. another life lost because of this. >> kim: you have covered stories where they have people dressed up as turkeys crossing the road to bring attention to pedestrian safety and have you witnessed firsthand drivers not stop for people who are in character. i guess none of us should be surprised we continue to have these incidents on our local roads. stay safe out >> kim: right now we are talking the olympics. not only do we have pride for team u.s.a. but the pride offenses 3 is in place this morning live from rio. that would be chloe. i'm telling you people are going to have to go online and watch your interview with ryan. if they missed it and didn't wake up early enough, that was in our 5:00 hour.

good to see you my friend. >> good to see you too kim. i must tell you that was such a last minute decision. he was standing right there and i was like come on over. that is how things have been rolling. we're seeing famous athletes walking around. a lot of exclusives. it's great to be down here reporting for you guys. speaking of exclusives, we got to talk to people at the house. just to give you background, these are beautiful buildings that have been put together for the athletes that are here before, after and during the games. their families can stay in these places. the u.s.a. house more specifically the temporary set up at the school where 600 children attend ages three to 17 years old.

u.s.a. house will continue major renovations to the house for that school for letting them use the house. we talked to ryan lochte earlier on the program. we asked have you been to u.s.a. house and he said he has not but he plans on meeting hiss family later today there and we're told the accommodations are pretty amazing. >> it's an oasis for them. they know their friends and family will be it makes it easier on the field of play. that's what it's all about. >> we couldn't leave without getting a little bit of swag. we will be bringing back presents for you guys. it's all the good old red, white and blue. >> kim: that's nice of you to think of us.

'5" yesterday. this man's truck breaks down on the freeway and he's trying to warn other drivers his truck is broken down in the middle of the freeway. he almost gets hit and he thinks he's doing the right thing trying to save other drivers but a body against a car, you are never going to win this battle. this guy comes to a skid and comes nose to nose with another car. nobody was hit here.

updates as you are driving. >> dana: eight inches of rain in a short amount of time not good. you can see the results of that. this is wisconsin and eastern minnesota. look at all of that water. you see barns inundated by water, homes, bridges, roadways, everything there. heavy rains and storms caused widespread flooding across the dozens of counties are under a flash flood watch. they anticipate more rain so putting out watches ahead of time. definitely a dangerous situation with all of that rainfall. here we are looking at sunny dry conditions. as you head out the door grab the sunglasses. these are not just the coolest temperatures for the day but probably the coolest we're going to see for the next week.
