and then by mid afternoon 105. we will hit the peak of 109. and by early evening be back down at 105. and overnight tonight. a warm one. clear skies. 82. and it is only going to the warmer folks. and we have a monsoon in the seven day. i will have that for you ahead. christine? >> anchor: look forward to that. man in charge of a local boys and girls club is in jail this morning. accuseded of abusing the trust put in him and committing sex john treanor has more. >> reporter: when parents came to pick up their kids from boys and girls club on friday. they were greeted with this. a letter explaining to them a nightmare turned reality. the director of the club, willis brown, coach willis to most, was arrested. the 44-year-old accused of having inappropriate relationship with as many as three teens. the letter assured parents the organization was shocked. disturbed. fully cooperating with

rattled parents. >> very shocking. especially director. main person you are approached by when there is a concern by your child. >> he was a really nice guy from what we have seen. but this is -- i mean i have no words. i am at a loss for words. >> reporter: everyone we talked to through the fences surrounding the parking lot. said same thing. not coach willis. mentoring teens and now lewd with them. ones of the teens described the man he >> he was cool. i never thought he would do this. >> reporter: details of what happened are few. metro investigators telling us they first went to the southern highlands boys and girls club thursday to investigate one report of lewd conduct. and when they got there they found two more potential victims and quickly made an arrest. willis brown at the clark county detention center charged with three counts of lewdness with a child under the age of 16. >> anchor: that was john

murder mystery. after a woman was found dead inside a local home. it happened near 95 and ran champion police believe 25-year-old jamie santana beat the woman death. suspect's father found her half naked body inside of his home. neighbors say they are shocked something so horrible could happen in their community. and tell us that house is usually quiet. >> kind of strange because they kind of keep to thems car or something. i don't know nothing about that. >> anchor: detectives say it looks like a violent struggle led to her death, if you know anything that helps to catch the suspect. call crime stoppers at (702)385-5555. and metro is asking for your help to find the person accused of killing a 60-year-old man six months ago. officers plan to canvas the streets at lake mead and marion.

gardener program. good morning. >> good morning. >> anchor: you brought props. and i sure the kids love all the stuff. tell us about the program. >> we have been operating for quite awhile b 12 years. and the students come in spring and fall and learn how to to grow food in the desert. and they learn how to serve the community. it is a leadership program. and service learning program. >> anchor: you do it by semester? how often do you meet month. two locations. and then the students spend half the time in the garden. plant something. harvest something every time they come out to visit. and then they go out into the community and do a community service activity with a larger group every semester. >> anchor: they give back? >> yes. they meet -- the entire program runs four semesters. so then they have a handbook. like cub scouts but for

do individual work and group work together. >> tell me about these open houses that are coming up. what the point is. >> so open house is for us to be able to showcase the program, and help the community to learn about gardening in the desert. and give people an opportunity to see the gardens. we have two large community gardens that the kids and families are welcome to come and visit. teachers are always welcome in the visit. first open house is on august 20. >> anchor: next weekend. >> yes. northwest vegas. second is windmill location on august 27. and both locations open house is 10:00 to 2:00. and. >> anchor: you are encouraged to bring your kids? >> bring your family. there are refreshments. free tours. and families can learn all about gardening in the desert and get

three suspects are in custody this morning after investigators say one of them shot a new mexico police officer in the neck, killing him before trying to speed away. it happened in new mexico yesterday. authorities say officer jose chavez pulled the suspects over during a traffic stop. that's when shots were fired. officers later caught and arrested three suspects after they shot another person allegedly during a carjacking. officer chavez later died at the hospital. the other victim will community meeting police hoped for. met with citizens yesterday to discuss black lives matter movement. organizers canceled the meeting after several interruptions. and one man kept telling the police chief he had signatures from people who say they were racially profiled. he was ushered out of the building. no arrests were made. organizers say disruptions were from people that attended from outside of the city.

speeding cargo vehicle is left to die on the side of the road. security camera video showed a man hit by the truck wednesday. we are not showing you this impact. after he was hit and lying on the left side of the road truck driver stopped to check the man's condition. and then drove away. and many vehicles and pedestrian then passed by without stopping to help. and the man was left bleeding for about an hour and a half. before police arrived and took him to the hospital. where he was later pronounc the next day. and adding to that inhumane tee. a man pedestrian digit a rickshaw stopped at the scene where the victim was bleeding and stole his mobile phone. wow! well frightening outburst inside of a kentucky courtroom. led to a murder suspect dragged out of the proceedings. 56-year-old jerry laughlin in the courtroom yesterday for a pretrial hearing when he began screaming. and laughlin could be heard
