with him we'll take you back there. looks like a can you hear me now situation. we'll transition to a story you will no doubt be talking about later. it's a local one with police being called out to a store in the middle of a busy shopping day. the eyewitness accounts of what happened just horrific. in the store shoppers doing their thing, employees also minding their own business when all of a sudden an armed man or a mom with four young kids was able to escape through the emergency exit. this was quite the scene. swat called out and everything. the suspect described as mentally unstable. telling us he may have had a fake weapon when he did this. the employees telling their friends when they were able to talk to them about this that the guy was getting more and more aggressive pointing that weapon

optimistic this year. we spoke with august by from las vegas and he made an attempt to make it toms as a boxer in 1996. he didn't make it then but he's back and has his sights set to be coaching this year's boxing team. we have video of one of his athletes who was fighting yesterday. he's been coaching several people on the team. now he's going to the semis so he's guaranteed at least a bronze. >> we're going to get gold. i see a gold medal and i'm happy

security footage showing an s.u.v. hilting a gas pump after it was hit by another vehicle that. impact causing the vehicle to flip and also just flames shooting right into the air when it slammed into the pump. the 87-year-old driver killed instantly in the accident. two people inside the gas station were able to escape. one person was injured because of the flying debris from this accident. >> dana: he's the greatest swimmer of all time and it turns out it did n love affair between michael phelps and water. >> it's wild to think about how far we've come from my mom putting me in the water. i hated the water and didn't want anything to do with it. i have done everything i've ever wanted and i have 28 olympic medals. that sounds so weird. so strange. >> dana: he didn't like water at first. now he loves it for sure.

you heard tom mention the accident at 215. as you make the merge on to the summerlin parkway. they have this accident to the right side. traffic able to move past. a remind tore join the waze team. you can give us real time updates on your commute. just don't do it while you are driving. including people suffering in louisiana here is dana and celebrating i did. >> dana: 40,000 homes damaged there. we found out that most of these people do not have flood insurance. >> kelly: regular homeowners insurance does not cover that. very tragic story there. in addition to the loss of life already. water levels are starting to recede allowing residents to get back in their homes.

introduce the school district and all of the schools and students to all of the new teachers coming in. i like to call this a pep rally for all the new teachers. they have it every year. about 1400 new teachers will be here in the orientation happening. is this exciting for them. they get a chance to get acquainted with the school district and teachers union and meet with each other. there is a lot of squads from different schools here throughout the district. they are going to be here at this big event at the south point. we want to take this opportunity to remind people there is a lot to do to get ready, school shopping for supplies and

weeks to go. that is a long checklist. we like to take this opportunity to welcome all of the teachers. 1400 new schoolteachers. i've covered a chance to talk to them, there are a lot of people coming from different states for the opportunities offered within the school district. a lot of people welcomed into our community and we welcome them as we kick off the new school year. >> kim: we have some of the best teachers in the country. we have had a tremendous experience with our 11-year-old who has been going through all of the different grades here in clark county.

chloe has been doing a terrific job of giving us the flavor of what is going on in these summer games. i love this story. you've been able to hang out with the reel live forest gump. he's been given that nickname because he's the most famous photo bomber i've ever scene. >> this is probably my favorite story i've done so far. this guy is just a riot. he's so we're going to show you, he's been dubbed as the fourth gump of the olympics for taking all these photos you are seeing now with all these famous people and of course popping up in some of the most memorable olympic tv moments. just to name a few people he's met, he's sat next to warren buffett at the opening ceremony
