>> dana: this is what happens when a hurricane rolls through. came ashore with 75-mile per hour winds. it has since been downgraded to a tropical storm. the winds have only gone down about 15 miles per hour so they are still strong this. knocked out power to 10,000 customers in cedar key, florida. they've had some areas have received more than 10 inches of rain. we expect heavy rain in georgia, south carolina and north carolina as well. it is a mess in the southeastern united states. the victims of the colorado theater shooting have been given an ultimatum. they won't have to pay the court cost they owe to the theater chain if they drop their appeals

this is the san jose area where we are awaiting the release of brock turner. he's the former stanford university student who was a star swim own the team there convicted of sexual assault. he raped an unconscious woman outside of a frat house by a dumpster last january. the university swimmer released under a law that gives inmates credit for time served. his sentence issued by a and was also a student player there, not a swimmer but from what i understand a rugby player. a lot of people thought he was too lenient in the eyes of this case and a lot of people in our great nation thought the same thing. turner will likely return to ohio where he must register as a sex offender for life. we're hoping to have in our can have hour exclusive pictures obtained by nbc news showing
