mid-atlantic saw a lot of sunshine this weekend, it's really more of a beach thing. you really need to stay out of the water because now from north carolina all the way into new england, that's where rip currents are going to be dangerous. we do still have tropical storm warnings for parts of long island, also into southern new england. we have the potential of the storm surge w. this storm out here it pushes this water onshore and we skild from about 1 to 3 feet of water above the normal high tide. that's wheu coastal flooding and beach erosion. mild to moderate flooding. the winds, most of our windiest conditions with gusts to 45 miles per hour will be across eastern long island and southern new england. we'll still see wind gusts near 25 to 30 miles per hour along the rest of nouj into new york city too. rain is not so much an issue with about an inch and a half. it's weird to talk about this hermine but not so much the

oregon about -- bedford, about 81, san francisco 65. it's going to be cooler than average especially back through the northern rockies where temperatures could be 10 to 15 degrees below average. elsewhere, besides that mountain snow we have this cold front, this is going to trigger a slight risk of stronger storms especially minneapolis-st. paul and sioux city, looking at the chance of seeing isolated tornados, large hail, damaging wind gusts and your torrential downpours too. it is starting to heat up average in the 80s and lower 90s. some thunderstorms today likely along the gulf coast, we could see heavier downpours near most of southern louisiana, also southern florida. we'll likely see some of the heavier rain in the northeast we still have hermine sitting out over the water, so even if the sun is shining in maryland and delaware, rip currents are still going to be dangerous. we'll see rain across most of southeast massachusetts.

i'm telling you, when tomatoes are in season, we are using them every way possible. i've got to tell you, this is my favorite recipe. >> i never had tomato pie. >> honey, you're life will be changed after this segment. we'll start with homemade crust. it's five ingredients. >> when you tell me homemade crust, it doesn't sound fast. >> it's scary but the deal is you can't get out of the parking your premade pie crust in the time that it's going take to you make this. so what we're going to do, one of the things we always want to make sure is we're going to mix butter and flour in here together really well. now, because you're so hot because you know you are, you don't want to overmix that butter in because you'll lose your pretty layers so you literally stick your fingers in the ice water for a few minutes. get them really cold and then work it in so that it doesn't overwork it.

butter? >> as cold as possible. you want your hands to be cold because i don't want them to melt it. >> i'll do that a little bit. >> this is great trick. once you have your dough all rolled out and absolutely beautiful, it's give to move interest from here to here. we're going to roll it onto the rolling pin. look at there. then we'll roll it back out. >> that's beautiful. so we'll press it down just a little bit. it's bigger than our pan which is not a big deal. >> we'll cut it off. we'll come around and cut. you could tear it. not a big deal. this is crimping. this is not one of my favorite things is crimping the crust. it's a simple technique. work on that. this is going to be your big fun thing for the whole day. >> this is where a child in the
