>> kelly: we are looking at windy conditions. we are looking at a red flag warning and wind advisory that go into effect at noon today. temperatures cooler as well. 75 at 9:00 a.m. still at noon, 84 at 4:00 and temperatures going to get cooler as these winds blow in this afternoon and into the evening hours. we're going to talk more about that plus your weekend forecast coming up. >> kim: thank you very much. at 4:31, let's g breaking news we hadn't mentioned yet. just getting into the newsroom this morning a u.s. military aircraft crashed off the japanese island. the japanese coast guard said one person has been rescued at this point. this is just coming into the newsroom. it is unclear if there were more people on that jet. we do know that it was taking off from an american air force base over there. we'll get continued update

>> dana: the top story this morning, the governor of north carolina declared a state of emergency in charlotte. protest overnight began peaceful enough but did not end that way as protestors clash with police on the street of charlotte, north carolina. >> the unrest in charlotte continued a second night of violent protest bring out police in riot gear grenades and tear gas. they are protesting the death of keith scott killed by police. a loud boom sent demonstrators running for cover. one person was shot. the gunman was not a police officer. >> they just shot somebody and he was laying there and there was blood and a crowd of people. i don't know if he's live or dead. >> but the violence continued

it followed similar clashes tuesday night. demonstrators shutting down an interstate, looting trucks and throwing rocks injuring 16 officers near the scene where soft killed earlier that day. officers said scott had a gun and wouldn't obey commands. waiting for his son to get off a bus. >> kim: we're just getting started on the broadcast this morning. we are taking you live to charlotte multiple times throughout this broadcast. we will get the latest live reports from the scene. we'll dip into live pictures so you can see what is happening throughout the morning. we're focusing on what has

getting in on this protest. it has to do with colin kaepernick. what you just saw with those kids taking the knee happened here in town at the american park. every member of this red lions team taking a knee fro-in protest during the national anthem. they are following the lead of colin kaepernick. people frustrated that children in our community are following kaepernick's lead. the coach insist those kids made the choice himself. >> i understand the protest. if that's how they want to do it, that's their freedom. i would stand next to them whether i agree what they are doing or not, i would defend

this morning. let's begin with some of the poll numbers. the national numbers are interesting for sure. what really matters is the battlegrounds states like ohio and florida and pennsylvania and the fact is clinton and trump are neck in neck in those states. does that give you reason for concern about the up coming election? understand it because we are in a polarized society why where people have republican versus democrat. you'd like tootle this is more about responsibility versus irresponsibility and without party who is more competent, has leadership capabilities and who can take our country forward. talking about the debate on monday. it's going to be one of the most watched shows of all time.

issue at all. we expect dry conditions at home today. it's going to be a wind event on the backside of this system. that's our biggest concern today. fire weather warning, red flag warning in place for all of southern nevada including las vegas. you see the areas 234 hot pink that is a red flag warning. strong winds will make driving difficult for vehicles. loose objects like a trash can end up down the street. high fire danger as well. today's high 84. gusts this afternoon up to 45. still breezy tonight. winds will diminish gradually. 59 is our low. tomorrow still a little breezy in the morning but the afternoon looks good. the weekend looking fantastic.
