riot gear controlled the streets of charlotte, north carolina. just a few hours earlier the scene was very different. a second night of unrest ripped the city as protestors angry over the death of scott vented their rage. scott was shot tuesday. police say he had a weapon but his family say he was reading a back in his vehicle. amid the unrest north carolina governor declared a emergency and deployed the national guard and state highway patrol to charlotte. one person was shot by another civilian according to authorities and is in the hospital on life support. several police officers were injured. journalist were caught up in the chaos. >> they put out pepper spray and people are running from it. >> one reporter was knocked to

man who is accused of firing off shots at the airport will face a judge for the first time. what is expected to happen in court just hours from now? >> two counts of attempted murder, those are the most serious charges that have been filed against jeffrey brown. he is the suspect accused in that shooting in a structure there. it was related to a relationship gone bad. the female victim, his estranged wife, the two victims a man and his estranged wife the woman. they were shot after they returned to las vegas walking to their car. the suspect 68 years old. we will see jeffrey brown in person in court this morning. it will be his first time in a

it was obviously troubled but there was no divorce filing we could find. that is on calendar for this morning. i'll let you know what happens live at noon. >> dana: breaking news from downtown las vegas from about four hours ago. a fire at the golden nugget hotel this. broke out on the ninth floor of the hotel. people had to be the eighth, ninth anted 10th floors. the fire had been put out by the automatic spruikler system when the firefighters got there. they found a small portion of the mattress. they believe it was related to smoking, somebody smoking in bed. the sprinklers did their job and nobody was injured. >> kim: people waking up to the

investigation just days after the news of his divorce, now a child abuse investigation. brad pitt became verbally awives and physical with on of his kids on the couple's private plane last week on the tarmac. the l.a. police department and family and children services are investigating what was initially detailed as an anonymous reports on this developing story that a source is saying that angelina jolie was present at the time. also saying that brad pitt was allegedly drinking at the time of the incident. we say drinking from reading the extensive information on this it sounds like he was hammered out of his mind is what people were saying. at one point tmz reported he tried to jump into a fuel truck

>> dana: this allegedly shows the bombing suspect wheeling luggage down the street on saturday night. police believe inside that luggage he had a pressure cooker bomb. at the same time he was seen doing blocks away on west 23rd street. the bomb he had inside that luggage on 27th street never went off. authorities were able to lift a fingerprint from that pressure cooker bomb he's seen wheeling here. that is what led to his vent arrest. police are also looking for people that came and took the suitcase. they took the pressure cooker bomb out of the suitcase and

retrieved. the people that took the luggage are not going to face charges but they want to retrieve the luggage. >> kim: they will be great witnesses once they find the people. we have breaking news that takes us to the mediterranean right now. we're hearing 42 people have been killed in a capsized boat off the coast of the death toll will likely go up because that boat was carrying 600 people when it sank. you are looking at images of family members looking for their loved ones showing up to a nearby courthouse. the egyptian army is sounding off on this saying they tried to stop an illegal immigration attempt and the boat had been 12 nautical miles off the coast

the judge sentencing him to a maximum of sew years behind bars. craig reports he will be eligible for parole after five years. he was arrested in april and he did accept a plea deal concerning two felony counts. she admitted to police when asked if he had sex with a 17-year-old student he said yes, it's true. while that student was over the age of consent, it is still relationship with one of their students. >> dana: a local pop warner football team joining the national protest started by colin kaepernick. this happened at the all american park on buffalo. look at your screen. every member of the red lions team took a knee in protest during the national anthem following the lead of many nfl players including colin kaepernick.
