>> i was laying down he kept saying it jammed, it jammed. >> reporter: 15-year-old jamonte was selling newspapers outside the starbucks. he walked in to caught himself caught in the crossfire. >> i look to the right and some people on the ground. i look to the left and somebody bloody on the ground. >> reporter: started when the suspect was turned away from the starbucks. his bankcard was declined. >> he shot this individual that does >> reporter: the victim was a sunday regular at the starbucks a man in his 40s. a flurry of 911 calls pour in. one the suspect himself trying to throw off the police with false description. saw the suspect run out hands up as police moved in we watched one the employees jump out of the drive-thru window and run across and the police waved her over to get them to her side. >> reporter: dozens of other witnesses hunkering down for safety.

just launch their bodies and take him down. >> he kept me calm as i begged for him to lay on the floor and not move and just keep those other two in there calm. he is a marshal artist so we had the talk that if the gunman penetrated that he would use his martial arts skills to take him out. >> this is interesting. only that mother and son talked about the possibility of something like this happening becau liquor shooting just located a short distance away from the starbucks restaurant so the mom said they talked about a plan in case something like this could happen and they executed it yesterday. thank goodness they didn't need to use that plan. at 4:34, we are hearing more eye witness accounts. people next door while it was happening and with the chaos. people frozen in place not wanting to move from where they were. that took place at a nail

at 4:44. we have one of those what happened. it is being played out over my shoulder. a guy risked his life jumping in a river to save a deer. the deer has done this before, gone through the river but this time the river is swollen and the current is raging very quick and the deer is struggling. witnesses saw that happen as they watched the animal walk right in. probably has done this numerous times in the past and no match for the river that was just too swift. the deer finally hoisted out of the water. taken to a nearby truck after

most part. no violent clashes or anything like that. protesters calling for the release of that police video showing the shooting death of keith scott also answered just a day after his family released cell phone footage on friday afternoon. in both the clips, you can not tell if scott holding the gun. still a ton of questions remain as a result. no word on whether protests will continue throughout the week, but we will stay on top of it at news3. 4:48. a man aced a man accused of a deadly shooting is due in court. 20-year-old arkan seton arrested as he walked down street in oak harbor. accused of opening fire inside the cascade mall in burlington killing five people just north of the seattle area. police believe that he is the lone gunman in this incident. the motive remains unclear but some of his classmates from high school calling him "weird." at 4:48, the florida

of a 24-year-old pitcher named jose fernandez. he died in a boating accident and the team ended up cancelling yesterday's game as a result, instead deciding to memorialize fernandez. you can see it on your screen. coast guard officials responded to a call of overturned boat around 3:00 in the morning off of miami beach. fernandez was one of three people killed when this 32-foot boat crashed into the jetty walk and capsized. they found two the vessel and investigators believe that speed played a factor in the crash but no evidence of alcohol or illegal substances. the florida marlins entire team in morning on this monday morning. another big loss in the sports world. arnold palmer known as the king has died. avenues seven-time major championship winner and died yesterday in pittsburgh of heart issues. he was called the king because he was wildly popular with his
