in the forecast. >> dana: we're hearing from the son of a man killed in a drive-by shooting this week. the victim christopher stewart. he was married with four children. police say early monday morning stewart left a tavern called the bar in henderson and was headed home to his home in anthem. along the way there was an incident with another motorist apparently that resulted in him being shot in the neck. he later died and now his son who was such a gentle man is gone. >> he was such a good dude. he was quiet and everything. he never caused any trouble or nothing. if it was just an accident it would be one thing because my family would get closure. now it's like somebody did this to my dad. why. >> police have no description of who pulled the trigger or the

anthem last night in a preseason nba game in houston showing solidarity and brotherhood during a time many athletes are speaking up about police brutality and racial inequality. colin kaepernick refuses to stand but these players are forced to. in the nba they have a rule that you have to stand up for the national anthem. this happened several years ago when a muslim player refused to stand for the national anthem >> kim: we've seen the sign of solidarity in the nfl now, in the nba and now in major league baseball playoffs so possibly still in baseball still to come. >> tom: right and obviously the main focus has been the nfl stars that goes. we have one accident to watch out for on a freeway on the 95. this is u.s. 95 south bound just before rancho on the inside shoulder.

for a check of your forecast, we do it every 10 minutes. what is the latest with hurricane matthew? >> dana: we're talking about the strongest storm they've seen in the caribbean in 11 years and now it's headed toward the united states. >> kelly: we're going to north carolina where people are on the beaches today but they are expecting evacuation orders pretty crews trimming trees ahead of the storm. this is a very smart move to keep the trees from falling on the houses. governor ordered evacuation of all coastal counties starting at 3:00 today. it's probably not going to reach that area until friday into saturday. this is the scene in haiti after that hurricane made land fall and just devastating video coming out of there.

it is a category three. it weakened somewhat. it's regenerating. we're seeing the eye reform. it's expected to strengthen today as it makes its way through the bahamas. here is the forecast track though. right now it's a three expected to strength on the a category four here in the coming days. and then as we get into thursday night and friday that is when we're going to see it getting closer to florida and move as it continues to the north and category two as it moves off the coast of carolina. then it will move out to sea which is good news for new jersey. yesterday in the las vegas day school camera we saw a lot of clear sky. @ wise heading out the door

grandson. police say he shot her on the street and witnesses watched as neighbors tried to save her by performing c.p. r. she was pronounced dead in the roadway with the husband inside the home with the 18-year-old son. the grandson became suicidal sitting in a chair in the backyard smoking a cigarette and holding a gun. nearby homes had to be evacuated ast late they're suspect surrendered. >> we so have a suspect in custody and a family member he shot and killed. the motivation over how this interaction happened, i don't have that answer right now. i don't know if anybody can explain somebody doing that. >> he lived there with his

operation. we don't know if any charges are going to be filed. at least they haven't told us if any charges will be filed in this case. >> kim: a local man is accused of killing his own grandmother. he is waking up behind bars this morning but it wasn't easy to get him there. there was an hours long standoff last night before they had him in cuffs. >> he is here at the clark county detention center grandmother, an 86-year-old woman killed in front of her home. officers tell us this started as a physical fight between the two. just before 5:00 yesterday evening the 86-year-old woman walked out of their home only to be followed by their 41-year-old grandson. she was shot in the street and neighbors tried to save her by

debate. some viewers couldn't hear a lot of what was going on. this morning fact checkers been busy all night long. tim kaine overstepped when he talked about how donald trump supported other countries getting nuclear weapons. they said that pence undervalued how much money the clinton foundation has given out to charities. that is something they do mention. and all those times when he denied that trump said something a the fact checkers pointed that out too. >> tim kaine mild mannered normally but he was fiery last night. i saw pence after the debate presumably with his boss donald trump. i guess we may find out here in las vegas how the boss thought he did. what happens in vegas won't stay in vegas. thank you for analysis. we'll be back on monday morning
