people in shelters over 100 people reportedly died in haiti. as result of hurricane matthew. rescue crews from new york had a save three motors from north carolina stranded and raging floodwaters. this a result of that hurricane matthew was all caught on camera. a car with three occupants inside trying to drive across the flooded road during the storm were actually able to make it to the other side. the vehicle was quickly swept away in high waters for swift water city jumped into action pulling those three to safety. all three occupants thankfully are said to be okay. new wild fire destroyed structures in south carolina last night and mess fire consumed five buildings in the cherry grove neighborhood of north myrtle beach.police say residents evacuated the area and thankfully no lives were lost. they say the fire started in one of the buildings with the high winds from that former hurricane concert to spread

e right back. >> kyndell: this week goes to the dogs this week's hero goes out of her way to help hunters of our furry friends right here in the community. chloe beardsley she has more. >> reporter: when we met up with polly p taken for animals for checkup three of them are very tiny puppies i get literally hold them in one hand. the animal shelter staff we talked with say they don't know what they do without her help. >> coming to the animal foundation in las vegas is a typical errand for polly williams. today we meet the newest temporary members of her family. hope, tammy, morgan and his little mama shawnee. the furry family was found starving and abandoned home.

our job is to nourish these keys back to health and get them ready for the new homes. >> the best part of it is taking the animal that comes to me scared and injured and really with the need and to be able to fill that need and send them back out into the world a whole animal. experience i never grow tired of. >> polly started volunteering with the animal foundation in memory of her dog grie passed away a few years ago. >> we decided that we wanted to instead of helping just one dog we want to help as many as we can. that's when we decide to foster. >> a lot of pets that come into the shelter sick or injured so she spent a lot of time taking them to the vet. >> summer abandoned. some are injured. from being hit by cars or other animals. some owners give up voluntarily. >> monitoring the progress i come to the vet about every other week.
