davis' mom talking to our cameras. >> you didn't have to do my boy like that. you really didn't have to just kill my boy like you did. >> dana: key evidence in the case online pictures of james. they could see his tattoos in the online pictures and also in that surveillance video. that is what led to his arrest. he's in the clark county detention center and will make his first courtroom tomorrow morning. >> kim: an update on the breaking news we were covering all morning long yesterday here on news 3. it started with a carjacking in downtown las vegas and ended in henderson. nevada state trooper spotted the hijacked car driving dangerously fast to zo he started to pursue this man. the carjacker was erratic behind the wheel hitting curbs and slammed into another car at one point.

screen. tom was above it in sky 3. he jumped out of the car. ran to a nearby car trying to get into another get away car. this was all according to the trooper on the scene. that trooper says he was forced to fire on this man. all we know about him, they are not giving us his identity at that point. he was rushed to sunrise hospital and we are told even though he was shot he has nonlife threatening >> dana: video from iraq as the battle continue this is morning. iraq's prime minister saying that the battle is going more quickly than initially thought. is still expected to take weeks, maybe months to recapture the city. we've heard accounts from villagers in villages near there, they have taken the fight to the isis fighters already in advance of the iraqi forces

injured. none of them expected to be life threatening injuries. cab this when you check out this scene. can you imagine if people were still in that building when it happened. >> dana: it would have turned out much worse. dramatic emergency landing in oklahoma city for the pilot of a small plane there. pilot called for an emergency landing when the nose gore failed to deplay. the pilot was able you can see the nose of that plane scrip scraping the runway. no word on what caused the malfunction. any landing you can walk away from is a good landing. >> kim: there was more than one donald trump at the thomas and mack last night.

jim childs: one of the ways criminals avoid background checks is by going online and connecting with strangers to buy guns. as someone in law enforcement, i think that's dangerous. millions of guns are sold through websites like this, most with no background checks, no questions asked. the law requires background checks in gun stores; why don't we require them online? a few clicks of the mouse, now a bad guy is armed - and potentially dangerous. and that's a threat to all of us.
