1/10 of a percentage point that. would equal to you a penny on a $10 purchase. that will pay for more police officers on the street across clark county, a big deal when you consider the murder rate and violent crime both up. the sales tax would raise $39 million, enough to put 60 officers on patrol on the strip, the last time there was a more cops tax imposed was 2005. here is how that money was spent. >> the officer that was hired five years ago on the more cops formula, his salary or her salary for 30 years has to be paid for out of this fund. there has to be enough revenue set aside and collected to pay

>> kim: our hometown airline getting headlines again. this time out of florida. allegen't air, according to a brand new report they uncovered an aging fleet that leads to troublesome performance while up in the air. last year they were forced to make unexpected landings at least 77 times for what they dubbed serious mechanical failures. 42 of their 86 planes broke mid flight at least once last year. 15 were forced to land by failing engines. nine overheating compartments and six by smoke or the smell of what they called something burning. >> the key problem is it's an older fleet. and when you have an older fleet of airplanes, more things happen to them and they happen more frequently.
