hospital. police have not yet released his name. >> kim: an update on a developing story in town many of you were paying attention to on friday night. the pilot flying that air ambulance saved lives by crashing it into a parking lot. that crash killed four and two crew members. the twin engine plane was heading to salt lake city when it experienced mechanical problems. >> dana: police asking for your help to find a man they believe has committed as many as eight armed robberies. he held up a bank on desert inn and grocery and drugstore holdups. we don't have a great shot of his face.

25-30 maybe driving a white older model four door sedan. if you think you know who this is, call crime stoppers. >> kim: many call it an epidemic without a cure. we're talking about impaired and distracted drivers; pedestrian crashes all traffic related deaths that continue to plague our community and beyond. for the first time las vegas is taking part in what is called world day of remembrance. it's a day set aside to honor the lives lost on o roads. this 17-year-old was remembering her brother the other day talking about how tough it is to be a survivor in this case. she lost him in an accident three years ago and her family thought they were also going to lose her. here she is in her hospital bed. she is on the road to recovery after suffering severe spine and head injuries. this recovery an emotional one.

>> dana: san antonio police have released a photo of a person of interest in the deadly shooting of an officer during a traffic stop early yesterday afternoon. the detective stopped a car and was writing a ticket in his patrol car outside of police headquarters when the gunman pulled up. that's when the gunman got up, walked up to the window and fired twice and took off. the detective was hit in the head with two bullets, pronounced dead for this. the detective 50 years old, a 20 year veteran of the police fort. >> kim: dramatic images out of north dakota and it has to do with demonstrate tosser taking over a freeway there because of that pipeline. hundreds of people showing up gathering there to protest the main camp. they say police ended up firing upon them. they say it was tier gas that

point on the back water bridge. they said firefighters intentionally sprayed them with a water cannon in subfreezing temperatures. a spokesperson said firefighters are using those hoes to put out fires set by the protestors. >> dana: wonder if president elect donald trump is going to be lonely in the white house. we have live pictures from the trump to melania and their young son. melania and barron will not be moving to the white house directly. sounds like they are going to remain in manhattan to let him finish out the school year so moving to the white house next summer. >> kim: we do traffic and weather together every 10 minutes for your convenience. we're going into the skies of southern nevada with tom.

in the death of her boyfriend. we say interview because they are still gathering information. officers tell us they received a 911 call a little before 8:00 last night. a woman in an apartment complex calling claim claiming a woman showed up at the door asking her to call police because she had been involved in a shooting with her boyfriend. police find the man and they take him to the hospital where he was later we don't have a motive and there are no prior reports of domestic violence. we're going to check in with him for a live report in 15 minutes from now. >> dana: a local man convicted in the brutal murder of a woman who was left in a dumpster to

sentenced about two hours from now. >> it was his own parents who turned him into police when this happened. police have been vocal about praising him for making that difficult but right decision this. murder brutal according to police. the man who is in question here, this suspect jerry howard as you mentioned, he is supposed to be sentenced today in court for this murder. metro says that he's the man who killed this happened near a dumpster off of nellis boulevard. kathy was there searching the dumpster for cancel to get extra money to pay her bills. this man according to police was caught on tape. he sexually attacked her, then he stabbed her multiple times,

trash and left her there to die. she crawled out of the dumpster and was found about six hours later dead on the sidewalk and police believe she was trying to find somebody to help her. this was a horrific crime in our neighborhood this. man is supposed to be sented. we'll have updates later on news 3 and social media. >> kim: thank you for the update. local police are asking for your believe has committed as many as 8 armed robberies in our community. pause and check out what you are doing. see if you can identify the person you aring looing at now. police believe he held up a bank on desert inn on november 1 and they believe he committed a series of grocery and drugstore holdups in town. they think he's between 25 and 30 years old maybe driving a white older model four door
