after the shooting of a sioux city police officer where dean fired several times at the officer, hitting him in t t face. good evening, i'm sheila brummer. matt breen is on assignment. the final two charged with conspiracy faced a judge in federal court today. today, 34-year-old evette morris hernandez of sioux city received 41 months in prison with three years of supervised release. t tt's about 3 and a half years. 36-year-old esteban hernandez of mercedes, texas received 6 months in prison and one year supervised release. they tried to drive jamal dean out of the country before getting busted. some of the things judge mark bennett took into o nsideration when deciding the sentence for the two. evette's was the top female member of the f-13 gang in sioux city. plus, she was involved in the shooting of a rival gang member. esteban was not a gang member and didn't know jamal dean. ktiv's tiffany lane joins us now

and was in the courtroomomoday as the final two getaway members in the jamal dean conspiracy were sentenced. sheila, this conclusion has been a long time coming for the many people involved. that includes investigators on the local, state and federal level, but most importantly officer kevin mccormick.

investigation into the longtime case came to a close at the federal courthouse in sioux city. su "detective mccormick sat in the courtroom as he witnessed the sentencing of the last two members in the jamal dean conspiracy. and just across the street he made his way to his office, where he says he's now ready to focus on the future." "just to know that that was it, that we can nowowmove on, we can begin focusing on he other bad guys and bad girls out there and do what we have to do to ensure that sioux city continues to be a safe place to live." after the sentencing, law enforcement officials from the local and federal level met at the sioux city fire and police headquarters for an emotional end to the investigation.n. and they had nothing but positive things to say about mccormick's efforts in keeping the community safe. "i feel like what i did, hopefully was not any different than what any other police officer that in sioux city, in iowa, in the united states would have done in that situation," said mccormick. and with that, mccormick left everyone with a final message from this trying time.e.i want to be very clear of how w grateful i am to my fellow officers and everybody that had

roles in taking jamal dean to south sioux city, winnebago, and back to the palmer house motel in sioux city. that's where jamal dean and his brother levon were actually accused of robbing a person of money and meth almost two weeks before the shooting of officer mccormick. >> jamal dean received 25 years in prison for the attempted murder of officer mccormick. in january, he received life in prison for r other violent crcres he committed over the years. his brother lavon dean received 33 years for his crime sprees. here's a look at the other people sentenced in the dean conspiracy case. kimberly smith who lived with the uncle was sentenced to eight months. anna baker received four months in federal prisis. ingmar hernandez rececved 33 months. and, monica rocha- contreras was ntenced to 15 days in the woodbury county jail. a community is mourning the

death of man after an accidential fire in allen, nebraska last week. the flash fire happened at a restaurant under renovation last thursday in allen. authorities say 70-year- old gerald, , jerry, koch of newcastle, nebraska was in critical condition and transported to an omaha hospital by mercy air care. he died from the injuries on sunday. the other person injured was identified as 69-year-old carol koch, his wife. she was in serious condition but has been released from the hospital. the firereappened when flammabab liquid ignited. according to jerry koch's obituary, funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on saturday at st. peter's catholic church in newcastle, nebraska. cool weather moving in! and, so is chief meteorologist ron demers. aftetea cool morning startrthat saw w ny of us go into thehepper 30s, it turned into a very nice afternoon with highs in the 70s. we'll see more 30stonight for lows with highs tomorrow just a bit

13-year-veteran john mesh died when a wall collapsed last night. two other firefighters were also injured in the collapse. the four were among a large contingent of firefighters who responded to the burning threrestory building of businesses and apartments. two people were rescued by firefighters. this morning kansas city's fire chief was emotional talking about the loss of two colleagues. the cause of the massive blaze is still under investigation. now we get to see the dashcam video arrest of a florida womamawho used social media to live stream herself driving while she said she was drunk. lakeland police say 23- year-old whitney beall's car hit a curb as they pulled her over early saturday morning. this police dashcam video shows ficers giving beall l field sobriety test which they say she failed. she refused a breathalyzer test. before she was stopped ...beall used the social medial app periscope to live stream herself driving drunk.

police received at least two 911 calls frfr viewers s tching the live stream. an officer used a personal account to help locate beall. beall was arrested and charged with dui. a jury in connecticut has rejected a woman's bid to sue her 12-year-old nephew for injuries she says she suffered from an enusiastic hug. 54-year old jennifer connell claimed her nephew acted unreasonably when he jumped into her arms at his eighth birthday party in 20-11. connell says his jump caused her to fall when she tried to catch him... and that led to her breaking her wrist. she sued for 127-thousand dollars. but the six-member jury found the boy was not liable... and unanimously decided in favor of the defense. connell testified that she loves her nephew but thinks he should be held acacuntable. still to come... a favorite fall treat might make you sick. that story in tonight's
