vonhofsteder came into contact with the boy after he placed an ad in a paper for yard work. that's according to chief deputy craig bartolozzi. he says the child's parents contacted the akron police department. police requested the assistance of the plymouth county sheriff's office in the investigation. he says some of the photos were from the internet and that the 12 year-old is not in any of them. matt? one person is dead after police try to stop a vehicle north of salix, iowa.

according to iowa state patrol, around 7 a-m this morning, a sergeant bluff officer attempted to stop a possible intoxicated driver. the driver didn't stop and continued down county road k45. the pickup left the roadway and rolled. the person inside was partially ejected and died at the scene. authorities are not releasing the name of the person who died. local best buy employees presented a leeds school with a check for $10,000 this morning. holy cross st. michael's center was given a check at an assembly in front of over 100 students. it was part of a competition hosted by intel retail edge. different stores had to answer questions for intel and then the people who had the top score received the money. best buy employees voted to give it to the school. "hearing about a $10,000 gift is just like christmas in october for us," "to get that type of money that we can further help our kids' education that we're just really excited and enthused about using that money." principal michael sweeney says

jeb bush was a very strong governor, probably the strongest governor in the history of the state of florida. he was a young guy and i think there were some folks in the legislature that thought they might be able to run over him. that didn't happen. one tax cut wasn't enough- he had to do more. it wasn't enough to have 15,000 kids with school choice in florida, he wanted to have 100,000 kids. if he didn't like a project, it was going to be vetoed. it didn't matter if you were a republican. it didn't matter if you were his best friend. he said: 'this is where we're going, this is how we're going to reform state government...' every politician comes in talking about making change, and generally there's not much change. but governor bush made a lot of changes. he got the nickname veto corleone. if he saw something in the budget that he thought violated his conservative principles, you could guarantee it was gonna get whacked. he vetoed a bunch of my stuff and i was the senate president. the message to washington, d.c., is 'get ready...' because there will be change.

students at a sioux city high school learned, today, that they can do a lot of good simply by dancing. students from the university of iowa visited bishop heelan high school, this afternoon, to spread awareness for the dance marathon. both college and high school students can take part in the dance marathon to benefit the children's miracle network. the money raised helps pediatric cancer patients. ben linden has taken part in the

dance marathon. the bishop heelan grad says it's important to get high school students involved early. "by telling these kids now, we get them started. they give their part," said heelan grad and university of iowa student, ben linden. "they paid a dollar to get to wear jeans today and that one dollar, collectively from everybody, that's going to help save somebody's life." somebody like holy cross blessed sacrament center 3rd grader colton barker. colton was diagnosed with cancer in his eye at the age of 2. but, he's been cancer-free for 6 years. colton's mother, stacia, is especially grateful for sponsors like dance marathon. "dance marathon is just so special to us and i think that for it to be out there," said colton's mother, stacia barker. for battle creek, who is ranked second in class c2. lutheran high northeast is trying to spoil the perfect season. sportsfource is on the road in battle creek, nebraska. that's where we find ktiv's mark freund, live with more. the braves are a perfect 8-0 - and with a win tonight, will finish the regular season undefeated for the third straight year. the braves sit at the top of class c-2 in nebraska's power points standings - with enough of a lead on hastings st. cecilia to reasonably conclude that battle creek should be the top seed in the c-2 playoffs - as long as they beat lutheran high northeast at home tonight. lutheran high is 4-4 on the season - and probably needs a win to have any hope at making the playoffs. but the eagles will have a tough test - battle creek is a well rounded team - the brarves average 41 and a half points per game on offense, and is holding opponents to an average of just over 7 points per game. battle creek has only allowed
