driving that semi. he wasn't hurt. but, rescue crews had to use "mechanical means" to free barritt from his car. he sustained severe, but non-life threatening injuries. barritt was flown to sioux city's mercy medical center. ere's no word on baritt's condititn, tonight. sioux city police continue to follow-up leads from thursday morning's armed roroery of a downtown convenience store. tonight, we culprit. this is suveillence video morning. you can see the cashier open the register f f the suspect. the suspee then takes the entire cash drawer out of the register. he's described as s hispanic or native american male, in his 20s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing about 160 pounds. he wore a grey hoodie and a flat-billed black hat, with a jacksonville jaguars logo on it, and a dark-colored cloth pled across his face. and, sioux city police releasing video of another robbery that took place this afternoon on west 3rd street at nueva imagen. the suspect had a knife and

demanded cash from the owner. she threw a board at him instead. the suspect is destribed as being a white man in his 50s or 60s with a gray beard. if you have any information about either robbery call the number on your screen. three boys that, authorities say, tortured and and killed a cat in stanton county, nebraska, will be charged as juveniles. the stanton county sheriff says the three boys will make their first appearances in court later this month. the incident was recorded using a cell phone, which has been seized as evidence. the boys potentially faced felony animal abuse charges if they were to be prosecuted as adults. the case was turned over to the nebraska attorney general's office for special prosecution, citing a conflict of interest. the weekend is here so what can we expect from the weather? for that, we'll toss it over to chief meteorologis t ron demers. despite it being friday the 13th, we were able to get rid of

in that amount of time, the number has gone down to 377. ...so what does that mean for drivers? the chief of the iowa state patrol said one of the big reasons for the shortage is the retirement rate. 30 years ago, there were budgets set to run bigger academy classes with more recruits, but "as time progresses those individuals are now starting to retire so we're receiving a lot more retirements then we are hires, which iturn is t reduction," said iowa state patrol chief, colonel michael van berkum. another reason is the expensive equipment they use. as technology improves, troopers have to update their vehicles. "it's a tool that helps us respond quicker also analyze what we do on a daily basis to a monthly basis to a yearly basis. it but there does come a cost with that," said iowa state
