taken to the hospital in plainview for treatment. two other passengers were taken to the hospital in neligh then transferred to omaha. a yankton man who died in a weekend hunting accident is believed to have accidentally shot himself. the 54-year-old man, whose name has not been released, was found unresponsive behind his truck saturday morning on the yankton sioux reservation. he was declared dead at the scene. yankton sioux law enforcement authorities believe the man accidentally fired his gun, and his death does not appear to be suspicious. a cold front is moving across the southwest spawning tornados, heavy rains and thunderstorms overnight. meanwhile blizzard conditions around denver, colorado are slowing traffic and causing hundreds of flights cancelations. mike seidel and leanne gregg have more on these early winter severe storms.

the city of sioux city is getting behind plans for an agriculture exposition and learning center. the council has approved donating the 12 acres of land at the former john morrell site for the project, plus two-million dollars paid out over ten years through the capital improvement plan budget. the expo center would cost 11 to 14-million dollars.
