be other bomb components. russia's security service yesterday confirmed that a bomb had brought down the plane. a search has turned up nothing threatening on either of the two air france flights that were diverted last night because of anonymous threats. they were phoned in after the planes took off from u.s. airports, bound for paris. a flight that took off from los angeles was diverted to salt lake city. it took off again after midnight. another flight from dulles international airport outside washington was diverted to halifax. passengers were put in hotels overnight, and they will leave this evening. authorities have identified two minneapolis police officers involved in the fatal shooting of an unarmed black man. the head of the police union says mark ringgenberg and dustin schwarze have both given statements to investigators. the shooting of 24-year-old jamar clark has led to days of protests. police say clark scuffled with officers who had been called to the scene of a suspected domestic assault. they say clark, a suspect in the assault, was interfering with

treat the female victim. some community members have alleged that clark was handcuffed when he was shot in the head. police dispute that claim. the police union president says he hopes those who are making the handcuff allegations will give statements to investigators, and if the statements turn out to be false, they will be charged with a crime.

transcanada has withdrawn its application for route approval for the keystone xl oil pipeline through nebraska, but a spokesman says the company reserves the right to re-apply. the company made the announcement today, ahead of tomorrow's scheduled appearance before the nebraska public service commission for a planning conference. before president obama rejected a federal permit for the project earlier this month, nebraska had been a stumbling block because of lawsuits filed by landowners and environmental groups. a company spokesman says transcanada may reapply in the future and is still committed to completing the pipeline. it's been in the works for decades, and finally the end is in sight for the highway 20 expansion project. it will soon be four lanes wide all the way through northwest! on tuesday, the governor came to siouxland to celebrate. ktiv's robert lowe has details.

skycam... sioux city high school students and their parents learn about getting a foot in the door to a military career. members of the air force junior r-o-t-c filled them in on what the program has to offer last night. air force officials say the program's goal is to build the life skills of their cadets. "we want them to graduate confident with the skills to be successful at what they choose to do." said air force lieutenant colonel, larry brockshus. "whether that's continuing to college, tech school, going into the job field

one junior cadet told us it's a great program that can spell success for anyone who puts in the effort. "you have to watch your haircut, you have to dress properly, but other than that, just follow the rules and get the good grades," said rotc cadet, makayla sullivan. "you don't have to be a perfect student and then as long as you attempt and you try in this program, you will succeed fabulously." about fifty students and their parents took part in the informational session. christmas is still weeks away, but a two-year old alaska boy is already feeling the spirit. he's been inspired to help the homeless this holiday season. sierra starks has the story.

volunteers and attendees wanting to know when it was going to be, where it was going to be. we got started early in the process his year. we found five really neat homes. each one has their own distinct flair and we've found some great designers to get them all really for the holidays. that's fabulous. i got to go on last year's tour and it was fantastic. where's the tour taking people this year? we're going to be out in the dakota dunes area. we're going to meet at the dakota dunes country club, that's where everybody can check in. we'll have some refreshments, silent auction items, and then they can get on the bus and we'll take them around to the five homes. two of the homes this year have movie theatres in them so we'll have movies running all day long. one of the homes, a couple characters from the movie will be watching the movie. everybody will want to look out for that. it's just going to be a great time. we look forward to it every year, the support from the community year in and year out is phenomenal. all proceeds go to a great cause. yes it does. all the money from this event and all of our events stay right
